Best shaved ice I have ever had. The flavors are all natural, not artificial. The flavor is absolutely phenomenal and is saturated within the ice it’s self rather than just poured on top. I also really enjoyed the corn in a cup. It tasted like authentic Mexican corn! Amazing place and would recommend it to anybody. Will go back any day.

As a huge fan of shaved ice, this place is pretty awesome. Decent prices, awesome real fruit and syrup flavors. Hop skip from downtown area.

Love the natural raspa flavors(coconut is my fav) with ice cream and LOOOOVE the leche on top! Nice little covered area to sit & enjoy. My hubby likes the banana splits. My #1 raspa place in SA.

Absolutely disappointing. Really wanted to like this place but the corn in a cup was nothing like Mexican corn and it’s 3.75 get outta here. For some canned corn a dollop of mayo a splash of chamoy and some kind da of shredded tasteless white cheese that doesn’t melt. No thank u! Brought the whole family there 10 deep. Will never go back. Y is Las nieves closed on Mondays? Sad day lol step ur game up snow monkey, there’s too many options in SA we just must have picked the wrong spot.

I’m a huge fan of the piccadillies here. They put plenty of crushed pickle and don’t use huge pieces like Big Daddy’s and the shaved ice isn’t melted either so you still get the balance of the pickle’s sourness with the sweet and tartness of the snow cone syrup and the fine crushed snow. That’s right, snow, not crushed or shaved ice. The machine actually cranks out snow that is much more coarse than the shaved ice you get at the competition and doesn’t stick together. So if you want a good piccadilly then you gotta come on over to Snow Monkey. I crown them the Piccadilly Kings. I don’t care much for the mangonadas though. Go to Snowcone Addiction or Gorilla’s for those. Snow Monkey isn’t generous with the chamoy either. The service, however, is good and there’s no huge line.

I guess what it boils down to is that in the Mexican hot weather dessert arena, my first love are paletas, not raspas. Seriously though, I see Snow Monkey more or less like the rest of the Mexican raspa places — decent but not phenomenal. I may go back and try their Changito raspa because I tend to like the idea of Changos, but with El Paraiso up the road, I’ll probably just stick with the faithful old paleta.

Snow Monkey has fluffy fresh shaved ice served with choice of just about every topping under the sun. Many of the flavors are served with real fruit, and can be topped with chile, lime, etc. They also serve a few snacks like frito pie, nachos, and corn in the cup. My only complaint would be the proximity of the tables to the street. With a little one it makes me nervous that cars are zooming by. Better to just pick up the treats and head to the car.

Straight-forward but no ‘big bang’ to the offerings. I usually feel rushed when I come here too. And you can’t get anymore of a feeling of not being welcome when you can’t go inside to cool down from the heat. And if you can go inside, I couldn’t get in. I watched someone push a button to get in. I wanna push that button. Basic flavors and the elotes en vaso needs a little bit of work. The flavors didn’t seem to mesh well together — it was as if I had all the flavors but nothing felt cohesive. Prices are comprable to many other raspa places in town.

Best in S.A. The home made, natural favors such as strawberry, coconut, and my favorite, pecan are incredible. The shaved ice is perfect and they always put the right amount of syrup.

My San Antonio visit would have been incomplete without a visit to the Snow Monkey. Shaved ice called raspas in a bunch of flavors including tamarind and chabanita(spicy and salty). Frito pie! Corn in a cup — warm corn w butter, mayo?, cheese, and who knows what else. Unique San Antonian food experience. Expedient service. Looks to be cash only. Charming façade. Check it out!

Shaved ice and corn in a cup. The perfect summer snack combo. What I love about Snow Monkey is they have what they call«natural» flavored shaved ice. So instead of the sugary, sticky syrup, they put real fruit and juice on the fluffiest ice ever. Mango, piña colada, strawberry, coffee, tamarindo, etc. You still have your choice of about 50 syrup flavors too, if that’s your thing. The reason for only four stars is because I wish they had a better hang out spot to sit and enjoy the ice. Instead, there are two small tables that may or may not be available, and you are so close to Fredericksburg Rd that you hear and smell Via busses drive by every 5 – 7 minutes. Still doesn’t keep me from going.
