They have a seasonal menu and often rotate selections which is nice for returning visits. I ordered a spinach frisee salad with an egg on top, the plating was very nice, almost too pretty to eat. My friend ordered a falafel plate; their falafel balls were so delicious. I’m used to falafel being dry and crumbly but theirs was moist and flavorful. It tasted so fresh. For lunch I also ordered a grilled sandwich with apple and bacon and apricot spread(I don’t remember the name), it was delicious with sweet and salty flavors. There is an option to choose between chips and salad. I chose the chips because they’re «house made» and I had already ordered a salad. They were classic crisp kettle cooked chips. It was a perfect lunch portion. I wanted to try their desserts but didn’t have anymore room too. I will definitely come back to try more on their menu, including their desserts! Although the name of this restaurant is «Supper» I tried this place out for lunch! At lunch time there wasn’t a wait, we were seated immediately and the service was good. They keep glass bottles of water at the table to refill your glasses as you run out. The room is filled with natural lighting and windows. They also have patio seating.

I visited Supper at hotel Emma for the first time to join a group of friends for a birthday dinner. We made reservations beforehand. When we arrived our table was ready and we were greeted immediately. The food was delicious and the service we received was great too! I split a meal with my friend and had plenty to eat. This is a great place to meet friends or enjoy a nice dinner at.

This restaurant is exceptionally good. The menu is very simple and the food is first rate. I have been for lunch and for brunch. The grill cheese sandwich for lunch was incredible. The chorizo wrapped eggs for brunch with the cornbread is simply one of the best dishes around.

I was very disappointed at the overall experience while dining at Supper. Many residents living in the area were anticipating the opening of Hotel Emma for many different reasons including the bar and dining options. While I can not speak for the other food options at The Hotel, I can say that the dinner my girlfriend and I had at Supper was terrible from the service to the food. After being seat, it took our waiter ten minutes to come to our table to introduce herself. We were not provided a wine list when seated so it even took longer to get a bottle of wine and have a drink(almost a thirty minute process). While I would understand if the restaurant was busy or understaffed, it was neither. While the service was bad, I looked forward the meal to come. I had the Roasted Chicken and my girlfriend had a risotto dish. My dish arrived room temperature at best and her risotto was hard and watery. Overall, I was not impressed and would not go back to eat.

I was dying to go check this place out and we decided that a dinner on a Friday night would be the best time. I made reservations through OpenTable and the only time frames that they had left 2 days before is either 5:45 or 9:45. So, just make sure that you make reservations ahead of time. When we walked in, we were greeted immediately and taken to our table. We started off by ordering drinks. I had the Spiced Primm’s and my hubby had the White Whiskey Old Fashion. The Spiced Primm was so delicious. It was very refreshing and I loved the fact that they had a hint of pink peppercorns and rosemary in it. My hubby is a huge fan of traditional Old Fashions and he was not a fan of the White Whiskey. It was unusually strong to me. Food wise, we started off with the Salt and Vinegar Brussel Sprouts and initially I loved the taste. However, towards the end of the dish, everything just started to taste pretty bitter. I wasn’t quite sure if it was the brussels sprouts themselves or the vinegar. I enjoyed it but I probably should of stopped eating them after a while. For my main entrée, I ordered the Bronzini and I absolutely loved it. The skin on the fish had a nice crisp to it and the crispy potato salad and crème salad just went well with the dish. The portion was more than enough and I just loved it. The fish just melted in your mouth. My hubby had the duck confit and that was also delicious. The duck was cooked perfectly and had that nice rich taste and it wasn’t too oily. I know. it seems odd, but it was just cooked perfectly. We ordered the Sweet Corn Panna Cotta and this is the one dish that I was quite sure about. The panna cotta itself was relish, but the addition of cornbread and celery seemed odd to me. I don’t know. it just didn’t sit well with me. I’ll have to try something else next time. With our dessert, I ordered the latte and my hubby ordered the cappuccino. I have to say… this is hands down THEBEST latte and cappuccino that we’ve ever had. It was great! I’ll definitely be back!

Beautiful and tasty eggs and bacon breakfast. Asparagus was a nice surprise and the whole grain toast was great. Delivery of order was slow considering they weren’t all that busy during most of our time there. Luckily we weren’t pressed for time. Service was adequately attentive. Would definitely consider another visit. Take a stroll thru the lobby of Hotel Emma while you are there. Very unique hotel!

Dear Supper, You just served us the most disappointing meal to come out of our visit to San Antonio. Please tell your chef to start trusting vegetables and stop trying to improve them all by drowning every single one of them in oil. And if you ARE going to heartlessly destroy and drown innocent vegetables like this, and we ask for some bread to soak up all the grease, then please do us all the decency to know what real bread is. It’s NOT a couple slices of melted butter-and-parmesan slathered Texas toast that you actually have the gall to charge us an extra $ 3 for. Seriously? Fluffy white bread covered in butter? Epic fail. I could go to Whataburger for that. But I didn’t. I tried your supposedly classy outfit out and got totally duped by nearly every dish. That’s the price for being overly hungry I suppose. We sat down and so we stayed. Bad call. Meanwhile, we won’t be back. Summing up: the flavor of the Brussels sprouts actually is somewhat fun, but the oil kills them. Hard to stomach the bowl full. The table next to us didn’t even bother finishing theirs. The potato gnocchi(the first dish to come out — so misleading to get our hopes up in that way) were amazing. But the ‘crispy kale’ that accompanied them were(surprise) drowning in oil. Should have been a sign to stop there. The cauliflower(served with green lentils) had too much oil to even taste. The caramel apple and kale salad was overdressed, and the apples were just wrong. A classy caramel apple salad should have a crispy apple with a subtly sweet dressing or glaze. These were, I don’t know, poached in syrup or something. All wrong. Lastly, I thought the Carolina gold rice would be solid, since the gnocchi were so good(thinking maybe grains are where you shine). Nope. It was risotto gone wrong — all cream, with some invisible rice floating in it. And rather than the chewiness of risotto it was both thin and gritty at the same time. Good lemon flavor though. Keep trying. Actually no, don’t bother. We will just go back to Bliss and to Zinc, and leave Supper for those who don’t know better. Tl;dr — only eat the gnocchi. Skip the rest. Chef and wait staff: please take a remedial class in appreciating, trusting and upholding the true taste of vegetables. And lay off the oil.

From the second you sit down and the waiter places the napkin in your lap to the exquisite food this restaurant truly has five star service. The duck confit is awesome!

We were looking for a fun place to enjoy lunch in San Antonio(first timers-here for a wedding.) this place was listed in the top ten best new restaurants of SA. It was lovely. Amazing wine selection, food was perfect. Scenery is beautiful(located right on the river). The décor is open with lots of natural light, simple but beautiful. We had such a lovely time and will definitely come back next time we’re in town. And I also hope to stay at the newly renovated hotel Emma next door!

Maybe I’m spoiled by LA food and service but this place was so disappointing. I really wanted to like it but it fell really short. If presentation is all you have going for yourself don’t offer a to-go option. The margarita was nothing special but the place looked great. So 2 stars for effort?

This review is based off breakfast alone… ANDITRULED! I made reservations about a week ahead of time for a party of 6 and when we arrived were seated promptly. Our server was warm, knowledgable, and accommodating of some specific dietary needs. The coffee was served with a variety of sugar options and brought skim milk on request. As a northerner I’m always on the hunt for bagels and lox and Supper really served up a great breakfast. I opted for a bagel with everything cream cheese, lox, and the sister suggested fried capers. I still dream of these capers. After placing this order, another party at the table promptly said«Make that 2!» And neither of us regretted our meal choice. Pricing was reasonable for breakfast and the ambiance is just fantastic. We will be back soon to try Supper for… supper.

I love the variety offered on the Breakfast menu! We were on a foodie weekend trip to SA and decided to enjoy our«first day after stuffing ourselves meal» with a trip to the fantastic Hotel Emma and her star restaurant, Supper. My poached egg on mashed avocado with Tomato Provencal and Arugula was earthy, tasty and just what I wanted. Our sweet server, Kelsey, suggested adding a second poached egg as the portions are small. She was spot on! We were convinced that an order of sweet and yummy Millionaire Bacon would change our lives. Treat yourself to this magical meat! It is served in small squares as a reminder not to over indulge. So tasty and hard not to go back for seconds so feel free! Hubby and friends enjoyed the Meyer Lemon Ricotta Pancakes with Pine Nuts, Crème Fraiche and Raspberries plus the Spanish Potato Tortilla with Arugula, Piperade and La Chinata Paprika Cream. The restaurant’s black and white color scheme is reminiscent of the Victorian era when the brewery was first open. Crisp black and white cloth napkins, black and white pottery and reproduction black metal Bentwood chairs are a simple but perfect compliment. Servers are decked out in red and white checked shirts making them easy to spot.

The wife and I met a friend at Supper on a Saturday night for food and drinks. At a minimum, it gave us an opportunity to check out the Hotel Emma, arguably the most unique looking hotel in San Antonio. However, Supper fit right in with the hotel with its unique cocktail program and its tasty, elevated, comfort food. We didn’t have reservations, but fortunately our friend had secured seats at the bar, which offered full menu service. Score! While looking over the dinner menu, we started off with a round of cocktails. Supper’s cocktails focused on clear spirits. I usually favor darker spirits. While I’m fairly certain they could make me a classic bourbon or Scotch-based cocktail, I went with their White Whiskey Old Fashioned made with white whiskey, Angostura, and orange bitters. It was a well-made drink, but for my tastes, I still much prefer the classic Old Fashioned. For our food, the wife and I split orders of the Kabocha Squash and Gnocchi with Vadouvan Onion Struesel, Toasted Cauliflower with Green Lentils and Romesco Sauce, Braised Oxtail Stew with Mushrooms, Cipollini Onions, and Walnuts; Grilled Beef«Santa Maria», Tomato, Parsley, and Garlic Chimichurri with Duck Fat Potatoes; and the Venison Loin with Juniper Parsnip Mousse and Blueberry Mustard. All of it was beautifully executed and presented. Most importantly, all of it was delicious. However, I do have to express my biggest praise for the braised oxtail stew. I could’ve eaten the whole pot! The bottom line… the food was much more to my liking than the drinks.

Very good. The evening started out so weird. We parked on Elmira and started to walk over. A guy in the parked car across from us asked if we were in a hurry. Not really, just going to eat. He asked if we would be their witnesses. They were getting married in about half an hour down on the river. The reverend was on the way. I’m thinking where is the hidden camera. But no, it was legit. A small crowd gathered and applauded them. Then on to dinner. We sat at the bar waiting for our table. Husband had a wine. I had a Devil’s Backbone tasty brew. Once seated outside, we ordered Brussels sprouts and the sorghum carrots appetizers. It is literally a pound of sprouts, salt and vinegar. Pretty good. The carrots gave a nice sweet alternative. Sorghum molasses. Yum. Entrée: husband had the Santa Maria beef. Well-seasoned. I had the Bronzini, which is sea bass with crispy potato salad. This must be marketing. It was small potato chips. Both were delicious. No room for dessert, but I did have room for another beer. Ha, ha.

We frequent all the restaurants at Pearl but Supper has emerged as our favorite especially for breakfast. The menu is very down to earth and the food is prepared and presented in a very appealing fashion. I have yet to have a dish that wasn’t absolutely delicious! The fact that the restaurant sits right on the riverwalk and is inside the most beautiful hotel in San Antonio is just an added bonus. If you’re a bloody mary fan try theirs. Let’s just say it will surprise you!

I had the pleasure of coming for breakfast and lunch and I’m pleased to say if you’re in the area — this is a good place to stop by. The interior of the restaurant and the exterior are decorated with a very industrial look — like most of the Pearl. But I loved the open and bright dining space at Supper. It looks clean and is very inviting. The kitchen is open. The transparency is nice. They serve breakfast from 7−10am so I came around 8:30. It wasn’t super packed but I made reservations just in case. I had the scotch egg with chorizo, waffle with duck confit and millionaires bacon. I liked the bacon the most probably. It was candied«to order» as the waiter commented. I liked the thick cut pieces. It’s very addictive. The waffle was super crispy but the flavors were kind of bland. I didn’t get a lot of duck… I almost forgot it came with duck. I liked the syrup it came with. I’ve never had a savory waffle before so it was definitely interesting to try. I really wanted to try the scotch egg so I ordered that too. I wasn’t a fan of the chorizo. It was really odd. As the waitress brought it out, one of the halves fell on the floor and the dish was promptly replaced. The egg was perfectly cooked but I found the chorizo overpowering. The cornbread was wonderfully sweet though. I always have coffee in the morning so I was really pleased that they serve Merit. But as mentioned by another reviewer — it was very acidic! I still drank it because I’m an addict. The waiter refilled it constantly so that was excellent. For lunch — I sampled a variety of things with Jade. Based on the waiter’s recommendations I had the salmon sandwich. I also ordered the honey crisp apple parsnip soup. I thought the salmon sandwich was excellent! Probably my favorite of all the dishes I’ve sampled at Supper. The salmon and rye go wonderfully well together! I wasn’t a fan of the parsnip soup. It was too sweet and creamy. All the vegetables my friend ordered were fairly tasty though. Pricey for beans and carrots but good. For dessert — I tried all 3 of the desserts with my friends. Our favorite was definitely the panna cotta. All the flavors went well together and it was wonderfully refreshing. Service each time I dined was wonderful. The waitstaff made excellent recommendations and were quite knowledgeable about the menu! I know the menu will change with the seasons so I’ll probably come back to try other stuff in the future. Overall — I liked the atmosphere and the food was interesting and pretty good. As with any place at the Pearl — you pay a premium for interesting eats. The portions are small($ 4 for the bacon is a bit of robbery…) but I think I’m just too used to Texas sized portions.

Supper is a great new addition to the Pearl district. Attached to the new Hotel Emma, it offers a cool ambiance and a very well priced meal. The food is great, and I put it to 5 stars because after the meal, you can walk around and enjoy the architecture of the revitalized Hotel Emma. Salt and vinegar Brussel sprouts($ 8) are a great appetizing start, perfectly seasoned with that tang. Oxtail soup($ 9) is a nice wintry broth with tender meat. Fried quail on a parsnip purée($ 23) is like a refined and delicate fried chicken. If Popeye’s is the illspoken, crass, and underachieving son that you forget to invite to dinner, then this fried quail entrée is the classy, philanthropic, doctor son you trot out at your weekly bingo nights. Desert is a sticky toffee pudding($ 8) that we enjoyed. I think, though, that I’d eat another app or starter plate over the desert. I wouldn’t say it’s a must-have. Service is friendly if not a tad slow. Our food choices were recommended by the wait staff and didn’t disappoint. Minor issues of having to track someone down for refills and utensils were mildly annoying, but overall the pace of the food was good, and everyone was affable and eager to please. I’m shocked that a hotel affiliated restaurant is so well priced. It’s like wandering into Nordstrom’s and getting a pair of Manolo Blahnik’s for 50% off. What a deal! Or so I’m told.

Like the waitress told our table«it’s all in the details» and that’s the perfect way to describe your experience at Supper. Being from Austin we definitely have our fair share of foodie restaurants but Supper was better than any restaurant I’ve been to in Austin. The unique combination of flavors(like who would think to do salt and vinegar Brussels or dill in the risotto), the service, and the design of the restaurant makes this an unforgettable dining experience in San Antonio. Give yourself time to look around the hotel after dinner. It took them 8 years to complete the hotel and it shows. Every room looks like it’s just waiting to be instagrammed. We’re already itching for our next meal at Supper! I mean you guys, even the name is adorable.

Well, well, well look at you Pearl District with all your gorgeous restaurants & shops! Upon entering I noticed how crisp the décor was. Prime seating is at the bar facing the kitchen that seats about 6 people. I also noticed they had a private room in the back and patio near the Riverwalk. We recently stayed the night in San Antonio in the new Hotel Emma(formerly Pearl Brewery) and I was surprised to find this little gem in the corner of the hotel. I must say our hostess was not a pot of Texas hospitality but our waiter was absolutely on top of things. The restaurant is on the small side but they do take reservations which I would recommend making. We sat near the windows and were promptly greeted by our waiter who poured us each our preference of water. I was happy with the sparkling water which is complimentary for customers. Jesse ordered the Three Emmas cocktail with fittingly 4 distinct contrasting flavors which has a good story behind the name and is relevant to the history of the building. I ordered a glass of delicious Whispering Angel rosé. When our dishes came out they were picture perfect. Jesse’s BLT had perfectly cooked warm crisp bacon with basil aiolo, avocado on toasted nine grain bread. My two dishes would entice anyone to eat their veggies. I ordered the green beans with toasted seaweed remoulade and I found bits of roe hidden in the dish. These are easily the best green beans I have tasted, the flavors were incredible. I have been on a beet kick lately and if you are too I would definitely order their sumac roasted beets with butternut squash, sorghum and cheese curd. I could have easily eaten 4 plates of this lovely yet dainty dish. The icing on the cake was when I noticed Tommy Lee Jones was at the table next to us enjoying a bowl of soup. If this place is good enough for this famous San Saba native then call me a fan too!
