Amazing FOOD! If you’re looking for an AUTHENTIC Mexican restaurant, this is the place to go I myself have been to Mexico and tried Mexican food, and this is exactly how it’s suppose to taste. I’m not from San Antonio, I’m from a border town city, so finding this little joint was amazing

The best taquitos in San Antonio. Hands down. This valley girls know good tacos and these remind me of home. The reason they didn’t get the entire five stars is because they nickle and dime you. This is the reason I miss living in medical center, nothing like this in the far north central area.

Food is great… Love the cheese enchiladas. The tacos al pastor are great! The Asada meat by the pound is really good. I really like eating here!

Greasy, expensive, ugh flavor, dirt place, waitress no where to be found, forgoten refills. Student packed place. I WILLRECOMEND el tapatio de jalisco on 5527 Babcock rd. They are more Authentic believe me. I’m mexican.

After my second visit here, it became clear that my previous 5 star rave was a little overstated. It probably had something to do with the fact that I was starving and super tired. With that combo, anything tastes amazing. That being said, Taqueria Datapoint is definitely still good. I ordered the gordita again, but I give it 4 stars instead of 5 this time because it was falling apart and the flavor wasn’t as strong as I remembered it. It’s still good though! I will definitely revisit Taqueria Datapoint if I find myself in San Antonio again.

For late night eats, this place is delicious. This place was recommended by many people, and I’m glad I ate here. We ordered the shareable fajita combo platter with chicken, beef, and shrimp. So much food to go around at a very reasonable price!

So I’ve only been here twice now. The first time we went, months ago, we ordered several different tacos. Nobody was impressed by any means so I never returned. Because of all the glowing reviews I decided to give the place another try. Well the place was super busy, a lot more so than before so I had high hopes. I ordered pastor tacos and the girl said it would be 20 minutes. After almost 30 minutes she calls out my order and I ask for green sauce. She says they don’t have any. But I clearly see green sauce on the tables… Whatever. I was tired of waiting so I didn’t even argue. I get home open my container and yes the tacos are mini, but I feel the portion size was good since there were 5 tacos I believe. I also noticed there were no pineapples! I guess that’s how they serve those tacos there. I should have read the menu so that’s my bad. Still I couldn’t help but feel disappointed. After my first bite I am reminded why I hadn’t been back in so long. The tacos were just blahh. Maybe they can’t handle how busy it gets I don’t know. But my pastor was tough and basically flavorless. I had to add salt… and I never add salt to my beloved tacos al pastor:) even after I added the onions cilantro lime and my own personal green sauce(since they gave me none) the tacos were completely underwhelming. I didn’t take any pics since I was very unimpressed. I truly do not understand the hype… I mean that place was packed and I have no idea why. maybe since Mexican restaurants or taquerias are so lacking in the medical center? Anyways… Definitely won’t be returning.

Love love love this place! Thanks to fellow Unilocalers I found this restaurant while visiting San Antonio. A bit off the beaten path, it was well worth the drive! This is a family run restaurant with a ton of locals eating here… Just what I was hoping for. Very clean/neat also. Look at it this way… Until Diners Drive Ins and Dives comes and this place gets run over with traffic you’d better get here for the fantastic food! I ordered up a plate of mini carnitas tacos for lunch and devoured them… Awesome! The chips/salsa were flamin’ hot, so beware(nothing a few Tums won’t overcome though). Parking is TIGHT! While I was waiting for a spot a truck backed into a parked vehicle? Hint: Park at the intersection before the parking lot and walk over from by the gas station. Here’s the rundown: Satisfied? Yes Return? Yes Advocate? Yes

Delicious! This«hole-in-the-wall» restaurant may not be much to look at, but you do not want to drive by without giving it a try. Taqueria Datapoint, or just Datapoint, is located next to Sudsy’s Laundromat. There’s a small parking lot that can get pretty tight. As you walk through the door, you’ll be in an almost neon-lit room with a hodgepodge of decorations and seating that can get a bit tight. The majority of the staff speaks minimal English, and so you may have to do some gesturing if you want to ask more complicated questions. But otherwise, the staff is really friendly, and they are all smiles and welcoming. As for the food, it is cheap, it is a lot, and it is great. Their free salsa and chips appetizer has some pretty spicy salsa(which I really enjoy) so just be warned, and their chips when fresh are AMAZING. As for entrees, I’ve had their Al Pastor place, and I have tried their Barbacoa mini tacos. Both were absolutely fantastic. I really can’t say anything bad about the food, and there is so much food that you can pretty much make two meals out of it. The meat is made to be very tender, fresh, and flavored beautifully. And their ingredients like cilantro and onions are very very fresh and pair really well with everything.

After the suggestions on the«Talk», I had to give it a try while in the area. The store in itself was very welcoming and you can see the satisfaction all around the room. This was definitely the place to be for brunch as it was packed! The menu was straight forward with specials clearly labeled and new items throughout. With suggestions for nearly every dish I decided to go with my all favorite the«Tripas». My usual go to for this dish is «Los Roberto’s» whose method is to fry the Tripas to a crispy delight served with a bed of soft tortillas below. «Taqueria Datatpoint» on the other hand boils and grills their Tripas. A different method from what I am used to but the flavor was spectacular! The dish came with plenty of tomatoes, onions, cilantro, and fluffy tacos. I would most definitely return to try other items like their pibil, and horchata. As always, I hope to see you there!

I’m pretty picky when it comes to Mexican food. I rarely crave it, but when I do Taqueria Datapoint comes to my mind. I think the food here in my opinion is more authentic Mexican than a lot of the Tex-Mex places in the city, but I’m not Mexican, so what do I know haha. The salsa and chips here are the best in the city. I love how spicy and flavorful the salsa is here. My favorite entrée to get here are the carne asada mini tacos. The grilled onions pair perfectly with the meat, which is some of the most flavorful carne asada I’ve had. The mini tacos come with sliced avocado. The gringa tacos are also pretty solid here. The prices are cheap for the portion you get here. The only negatives here are it can be a little overwhelming coming here if you aren’t Spanish speaking since a lot of the workers seem to know only a limited amount of English here, but I haven’t had too much trouble with ordering. The plaza also is a little sketchy and I don’t think I’d be comfortable coming here alone at night, so I’d take company if your planning on going here late night. Overall, Taqueria Datapoint is probably my to-go place in the city when I’m craving solid tacos on a budget. Affordable prices, good portions, and flavorful meat!

Enchilada is very good here and so are the mini tacos. Service is good. The only thing I don’t like it is that you have to wait in line to pay the bill. But for the food, worth the wait.

Delicious place with a variety of tacos and tasty dishes to choose from. It gets busy quick and expect a wait for your tacos but once you get it it’s so worth the wait! They have breakfast tacos as well if you are looking for breakfast items. The pastor tacos are a must! I also had the chorizo con huevos which is with eggs and its delicious as well. I have nothing bad to say about the quality of this place! Just be prepared to wait and parking is a pain in the butt because the lot is limited and some spots are reserved for other stores in the plaza. Come early and you’ll get a spot!

So I visited this little Mexican restaurant right after getting my eyebrows down next door. I love their delicious tortillas and was overwhelmed with all the dishes on other tables. I couldn’t decide if I wanted a torta, tacos, a Mexican plate. So we got it all. Okay so their steak torta is perfect. It’s not like several of the tex-mex restaurants, their torta was soft and their meat was cooked perfectly with all the right fixings. I’m craving one right now as I’m writing this. My bf got mini tacos and they were not skimpy on that meat! Salsa was nice and hot Chips were excellent. Being from the valley I have a high expectation for Mexican food and this place can’t be more perfect.

This place is absolutely fantastic! Lightning fast service of generous, delectable that stretch the stomach. The salsa was perhaps the spiciest and best I had in my short stay in San Antonio. Sour, acidic and the exact amount of heat to leave your tongue tingling for more. I will say though, the chips arrive in a disappointingly small bowl. Not so for the entrees though. Contrary to their«lunchtime special» labels, everything on the menu is up for grabs come dinner time. I had a soft taco combo with steak(I believe) which really had me basically licking the plate after five minutes. The tacos arrived drenched perfectly in orange, rich sauce and sour cream. The avocados and greens on the side were fresh, the lettuce crispy. They complimented the creamy main dish well, especially combined with the equally heavy beans and rice on the side. I personally enjoy combining a bit of everything in each bite. With several bottles of salsa to choose from on the side, flavor will not be a worry here. While the horchata size is generous here, I don’t think you get a refill. Also, it tastes a bit like horchata mix, so I recommend skipping this refreshment, and perhaps opting for something else. I highly recommend this place to anyone in the area, for its affordability, efficient service and generous plate sizes. You must try every salsa on the table because each one hits the taste buds in a different way.

This is our favorite breakfast taco place to go to, hands down!!! The place is always busy all the time. Its always clean, they get your order right. They always look like they are improving in something, which is good to see they care what they’re customers think. They’re staff is super friendly, always with an honest smile, no attitudes here! Order ahead of time and you get the convenience of picking them up without waiting long for your breakfast tacos a side from having a deal for ordering between certain hours in the morning. They have an extensive menu but I really enjoy their varied tacos like(egg with cactus, chorizo con huevo, and huevo con rajas) just to mention a few of my favorite to order… The salsas there are just right in temperature, make sure to ask for more if you are in to hot sauces! Yum, just getting hungry thinking about it! Lol.

I’m from El paso, tx so I have high expectations for mexican food. The menudo had no flavor and very little meat. There was no hominy in it either. Half of the cup I got only had bones in it. I regret even trying it from here because it ruined my menudo sunday lol. The best menudo I’ve found in san antonio is at a place called los robertos. I also ordered the pastor mini tacos. Now those were delicious and juicy. It definitely made up for the menudo. I would have given this place 4 stars for the mini tacos but it lost a star for my disappointing menudo.

Oh Datapoint, what would I do without you? I have been coming here for 4 years and I have never been disappointed. To begin with, I love their chips and salsa. The chips are thick and have a really nice crunch to them. Their salsa is also nice and spicy. I’ve had everything from taquitos to menudo, chilaquiles to pozole… it’s all delicious! This place is a great spot for breakfast, lunch, dinner, second dinner, and late night snacking after going to the bar. Service is great and the staff are very friendly. Definitely one of my favorite spots in San Antonio. It’s very popular with students like myself from the medical center. Pro Tip: If you ever order Tripas, make sure you order them nice and crispy!
