I have visited this library a few times now and I always leave irritated. Adults talking, kids screaming and babies crying seem to be the norm. Don’t librarians control the patrons anymore?

This is the public library that I have been frequenting for the past few months. Its not the best, but offers all the basic services that SA Public Library system offers, computers, WiFi, books, DVDs, and CDs. Its not as nice as Brookhollow or Julia Yates Semmes, but its closets to me. 3 Stars for Thousand Oaks-El Sendero Branch Library; it serves it purpose and nothing more.

This is a great smallish library that stays open most week days until 9 pm. I noticed while there that they do a lot of things for children and teens, such as story time for toddlers and video game tournaments for teens. Whatever it takes to get kids interested in reading is great! There is a pretty good selection of CDs and DVDs here, also. One thing I did notice right away when walking in was the odor of old, musty books. I read that this library opened in 1987 so maybe that explains the smell. It is a little much when you first walk in, but you don’t really notice it after being there a little while. I do recommend going during the day if you are looking for quiet because when school is out, the«shhhh» rule doesn’t really apply.
