I went to Tri-Sition about a week before competing in my first triathlon and while the girl behind the counter was courteous and helpful, there wasn’t much she could really«help» me decide on because the lack of inventory and selection being offered. There were 2 different triathlon tops for women, but one was only offered in 1 size(much too small for me). The bottom/short selection was much the same — 3 pair, but only 1 that was my size. There was only 1 full women’s triathlon suit and while it was my size, I didn’t like the coloring. I found a much better selection at both Roger Soler’s Helotes store(for my triathlon needs) and at Run On San Antonio for running apparel.

I was really excited to find this place, but I was quickly let down. I purchased some Louis Garneau shoes based on a major recommendation by the owner. When I got them on to my indoor spin bike I was sad because the straps where hitting my crank, bad! I took them back, after wearing them for 10 minuets, and was told, «I am sorry, I don’t know what to tell you.» Then I asked what I was suppose to do and in a joking manor suggested cutting the straps. They TOLDME it sounded like a solution. I am sorry but you shouldn’t have to cut brand new 120 shoes, all I wanted was another size. I call LG and they said there was nothing they could do since it was a sizing issue and the store should take them back. They are nice people but I didn’t see anything there I can’t get at all the other running/Tri stores in the area.

Tri-Sition Area is the runner’s, biker’s and swimmer’s dream store. Despite the fact that this store is small, it has plenty of stuff packed in. Whether you are interested in one of these sports or training for a triathlon, Tri-Sition should have what you need. I wandered in on a rainy day and found the place pretty empty. I was looking for some new goggles, and the staff member showed me the swimming supply section, which included some cool things, like an anti-chafing stick for those long days at Schlitterbahn. They also had a good supply of equipment for running and biking. Another neat feature is that one corner was devoted to energy and protein bars and shakes. The prices were a little high, but their products looked like good quality that would last. Despite not being large, this store has plenty to help keep you active and happy.
