I’ve been to Zedric’s a couple times. Both times I have been impressed with the taste and quality of the food. If I lived or worked closer to a location I would probably be a regular. Everything is pre-prepared and is «heat and serve». They run the gamut from Thai to Italian. Tonight I had a balsamic chicken over penne with artichoke. We both loved it. I also had a kale salad, the only thing was that I wish it had a touch more dressing. My kiddos had a chicken breasts with broccoli and pasta with marinara sauce. Everyone was very happy. Like Brent, the only thing that is keeping me from 5 stars is that the prices are a touch high considering I could eat at a restaurant for the same price. I would also like to see family sized meals. That could potentially save me money and feed the whole family. Overall this is a great idea and I look forward to coming back.

This place had good healthy food. Had the flat iron steak and it was juicy and flavorful! The sweet potato hash was a good compliment to the meal. Definitely recommended!

I strolled across this place on my way to the gym and I have to say that it is better than a lot of prepared meal places that I’ve tried! I had the Lemon Dill Baked Salmon with Roasted Root Vegetables and it was delicious! Tastier than the meals I make haha. It was low in carb, high in protein, and just what I needed post-workout. Love this place and definitely recommend it to those who love filling, healthy meals.

I decided to try this place out because I am tired of trying to cook healthy. I end up wasting more food than I end up eating. So along came this place. I just picked up my first seven meals and I cannot wait to try them ALL… My boyfriend may not get any! I am currently eating the spinach ravioli and had to stop to write this review. This is delicious. It has flavor! I taste fresh cracked pepper. The food tastes AND looks fresh! It heated up very well and I can’t tell that it’s been pre cooked. It’s absolutely delicious. I believe this may be my saving grace. Where has this been all my life.

My first time hearing about this place was actually on Unilocal but I had looked up a different location I heard about and someone mentioned how Zedrics had better tasting food. My husband and I are really into the gym but we also love great tasting food. I am a pretty good cook but when it comes to healthy meals it’s a struggle and it always seemed so painful as well. I went in on Saturday really skeptical because heck healthy food taste bad lol but I’ve had two meals from them and I’ve been pretty impressed and so has my husband. I wish people would post their results or how the food helped with their weight loss so I’ll follow up in a month or so but so far so dang good

LOVE this place!!! Best tasting«healthy» preportioned food I have found. I like that everything is made on site so it’s fresh. Staff is friendly and willing to offer guidance if needed. I’ve tried pretty much everything on the menu and there isn’t anything I don’t recommend. Great job!

Thought I try this place out. I’m happy I did too. You can see from the outside them making the food so they’re obviously very clean. The food is all prepped and ready to go in a fridge when you come in. So it’s not a usual sit and eat place but they have microwaves there and places to sit if ya want. But I had the pancakes and the turkey hash. Both were very good! I also got some of there chocolate peanut butter cookie chews. The lady noticed that they weren’t fresh and chewy but in fact kinda crunchy. She offered some more up for free since she was going to throw them out because they considered that to be no longer fresh. So quality and cleanliness is very important to these people. I’ll be back for sure

Just an awesome place to have food in general. They have a good variety on the menu and always have new items. Pretty healthy options too.

The staff was friendly, the flavor was great, but the execution was not prepared by a «gourmet chef» I ordered the turkey ragu. Tasted good but there were chunks of squash(not quite spaghetti) and several seeds. It tasted great but after crunching on a seed more than once I had to keep an eye out for them which made the experience less than stellar.

I am on day 4 of the Fit with Flavor meal plan and I have found every meal I’ve eaten so far to be satisfying, flavorful and prepared well. The Small meals looked quite small but were just the right amount for me and my caloric needs of about 1,460 calories per day. The Turkey Ragu over Spaghetti Squash was awesome. The Turkey Sasuage w. Dijon Braised Cabbage, I thought would be my least favorite, I ate it the first night and it was so good!!! I’ve also really enjoyed the Hong Kong Chicken Stir fry w. Rice Noodles and the Steak over Sweet Potato Hash. Not a single meal has been disappointing in any way. Yes, you pay about $ 9 for each meal but for the convenience of not having to cook AND the fact that it is healthy and delicious it is well worth the money. Oh and did I mention they delivered the five meals to my house??? and on a Sunday afternoon. It came in a very well insulated box with cooler packing and several ice packs. If you are short on time and need a delicious and nutritious meal check out Zedric’s.

Love this place for a healthy prepackaged meal option. I wish they would bring back some of my old favorites(fish taco, breakfast sandwich etc) but they have great food. My husband loves the chicken fajita bowl and pecan crusted chicken and I’m a fan of the salmon with quinoa and the turkey chorizo breakfast dish. Yum! Meals range from $ 7ish(small) to $ 12ish(large/some seafood dishes) They do offer the meals that need to be eaten by that day at a discount

I had the turkey ragu, regular sized portion, which is 340 calories, 32 grams of protein and 8 grams of carbs. It’s really tasty and the ground meat has a couple nice chunks in it. I will admit to eating the meal cold because I like cold food. It gets 5 stars(even cold) but I like cold. The spaghetti squash is crisp and there’s shredded cheese and shredded basil on top. Flavorful and surprisingly more filling than it looks. The store is clean and the 2 employees didn’t care that I spent a long time standing at the fridge and reading the nutrition labels before deciding what to get.

I stopped by today to try their food. To be fair, their food is a little bit expensive, but not overpriced. First, because it is gluten-free and freshly made as they claim. Second, the portion is pretty good for lunch or breakfast. Don’t let the box fool you. It is also convenient if you just want to pick up and go. Last, the flavor is good, not shocking stunning good but good. I tried 2 items: stir fried beef and steak w scramble egg white. Will try more item later because I just got a coupon for BOGO free. :D

I’ve been to Zedric’s many times and every time I go there the food is great and they always have new stuff on the menu. It’s really hard to find a healthy food option when dining out and this is by far the best. Every time I’m in the area I get something to eat at Zedric’s.

Who would think a weight loss or maintenance plan could include the following description: Super easy! Healthy, yet satisfying! Delicious food! Great value for the price! Zedrics’ is the best option I have ever come across to jump start a diet and/or learn to eat healthy balanced meals. They do all the hard stuff — cook, count the calories, balance the nutrition, and all I have to do is pick up my FRESH food and heat it up. Since the owner is a trained chef, the food is REALLYGOOD! Jump off the crazy diet treadmill, and try Zedrics’ out. This was the best New Year’s gift I could have possibly given myself. Thank you Zach and the Zedrics’ crew.

Okay, I guess maybe I shouldn’t be posting bc I haven’t even tried Zedrics. I went in though and was going to give it a shot and then I found out that the food is all pre-made and essentially you pay for a restaurant-priced meal to be zapped in the microwave. I am just so unimpressed. We left:-(

A friend of mine recommended this place to me. I went here after I first discovered I had celiac disease and had no idea what to eat. They were friendly and I was able to get a weeks worth of meals until I could figure out my plan. There were yummy options, but the fridge was not full so t was missing some options. The food was good and filling(I am athletic and got the medium sizes). The breakfast was my favorite– I know reheating eggs sounds gross but they were very good! I wish they had one in New Braunfels!

Unfortunately, the past few times I’ve picked up Zedric’s, there’s been a noticeable decrease in food flavor & portion size for the same price. The staff is super nice, but I can’t say I was happy & satisfied after eating a Zedric’s meal like before. Perhaps it was just a bad few weeks… I’ll try again once more then make a final decision…

The perfect solution if you have no time to cook and still want healthy meals! My hubby loves the food here! I have been overcoming a wrist injury and have been unable to cook recently. I decided to try out Zedric’s so that we didn’t end up eating fast food every day. I am also a vegetarian so that makes dinner preparation for me and my meatetarian husband a little tricky. Hubby loves coming here to pick out his meals for the week. This is a guy who hates grocery store shopping, especially with me because I like to read all the food labels. He loves coming to Zedric’s because we are in and out within about 10 minutes and he even reads the labels for his meals here! He also started getting his lunch meals for the week. I might be out of a job as far as good prep at home goes. Grocery store trips are shorter since I am not buying ingredients for cooking. We find Zedric’s to be cost effective for us since we have to plan meals around both vegetarian and meatetarian dinners. And what I especially like about Zedric’s is that they cook healthy meals so hubby is getting good food. Whether we continue purchasing all meals or just some meals here, we are happy to have such a fantastic solution for during-the-workweek-healthy meals. I really appreciate this business being available to us!

Healthy chef prepared meals on the go? Zedric’s is your best bet! I’ve passed by this place numerous times but never stopped in before. Since I’ve been sort of on a diet to lose a few pounds that I gained on my vacation and also need some lunch to take to work I decided to give Zedric’s a try. Upon entering the store, I was greeted by a friendly staff right away. He was super polite and patiently answered all my questions. After looking around, I picked a large cauliflower«fried rice» and a side zucchini dish. The«fried rice» isn’t really rice, it’s actually made of cauliflowers. I ate the zucchini side dish right after I got home. To my surprise, it was pretty good actually. I ate the«fried rice» for lunch the following day. Wow, I have to say I was pretty impressed. It was absolutely delicious and I was deff satisfied. After my first successful visit, I came again. It was maybe 15 mins before their closing time. They offered me to pick dishes that are expiring the same day for free! Why not? It is not that they have expired already and they can still be enjoyed for dinner that night. So I picked a small salmon salad and also bought a regular priced turkey ragu others all raved about. I ate the salad right away after getting home. OMG! It was beyond delicious and HEALTHY too! Score! Now I know what to get after my workout! The following day I ate the turkey ragu for lunch. I actually didn’t like it as much as other reviewers. But it was still good, it is just that I’ll probably not get it again. So far, I’ve also tried their grilled salmon, pretty decent but not my favorite. I’ve picked up the Thai chicken over yellow rice and chicken stir fry too, will report back after I try them. But my favorite is still the salmon salad! And now on my gym days I always come get that! What I really like about Zedric’s is that: 1) their dishes come in small, regular, and large for breakfast, lunch, and dinner 2) the dishes are clearly marked with calories so it is easier to track how much you are eating 3) the dishes are fresh and delicious without any preservatives This is not your average frozen dinner place, my friend! The meals here are all chilled in the cooler and expire within a few days. Sure, it’s a bit pricy but totally worth it IMO. I’m sure I’ll come often… until I get rid of the few pounds I intend to lose!

I lost 50 pounds while eating here every day for 3 – 4 months. A lot of hard work went into that as well, but this place made dieting easy-peasy. The food is tasty for the most part. The girl who’s there pretty much every day is always sweet and super helpful.

I’m not gluten free, but I didn’t mind that this restaurant is. All meals are pre-portioned and packaged. You can easily pick out a meal that meets your nutritional goals. Either take it to go or eat on site in their little café area. All food is prepared fresh and delicious. We had the chicken cranberry salad, tortilla soup, and a coco-pecan bar. The chicken salad was soooo good, I took an extra portion to-go to eat for dinner and share with the family.

Pros: You will find plenty of healthy, pre-prepared gourmet food for paleo, low-carb, and gluten-free diets. Great portion size. Cons: Other than the salad bar, there are no vegetarian entrée options for lunch or dinner. Vegetarians: You might be better served coming in for breakfast to get some oatmeal. The only option for lunch and dinner would be the salad bar or piecing together a meal of vegetarian side dishes. Want healthy food that is free of preservatives and additives and is completely fresh? Zedric’s has you covered. Want chef-prepared gourmet food reminiscent of Central Market’s and Whole Food’s chef-inspired creations? Zedric’s does it. Want options for paleo, low-carb, and gluten-free diets? Zedric’s it is. Chef Zach Lutton, a Culinary Institute of America-trained chef, serves up delicious to-go food at a reasonable price that will inspire you to change the way you eat. Food, even healthy food, should taste good. And it should provide not just proper nourishment, but health as well. Zedric’s works out a great concept. It is an old idea that is new again: eat fresh prepared food that includes healthy meats, veggies, fruits, and whole grains to feel better, even in a stress-filled world where cooking fresh at home is the last thing that some people want to do after a long day of work. Zedric’s does this at a fair price(given the quality ingredients and preparation skill) and packages it all up to go. If you want to save a few dollars while still eating healthy, I recommend buying their discounted items, which are still good but priced for quick sale. The service is friendly and the staff is very helpful if it happens to be your first visit, though I can envision this restaurant having lots of regular customers. Zedric’s even has a «ZedCard» that offers a 28-day meal plan for its regulars. My only gripe is the relative lack of vegetarian options, given that Zedric’s aims to promote healthy diets. As I state earlier, the only entrée option for lunch and dinner is the salad bar. That, or a meal of vegetarian side dishes. I tried the discounted NY strip steak with grilled vegetables. It was very well made and absolutely delicious. My side of mac-n-cheese with turkey bacon was equally good. And it was healthier than mac-n-cheeses from most other restaurants because it was made with whole wheat elbow macaroni and low fat cheese. Trust me, it didn’t taste like it was healthy though! I was very pleased with Zedric’s food and I am absolutely crazy about the idea of fresh, healthy, gourmet food. I look forward to returning soon to try more of the ever-changing menu.

#AllergenInfo — Soy, Gluten: The Asian themed items, and some of the salad side items contain soy-based commercial mayo. The oil they use here is a blend of Canola & Olive, and is soy free. The tortillas they serve contain unspecific vegetable shortening, so they might not be soy-free. The Turkey burger lists soy oil, but I suspect that comes from the included commercial 100 calorie bun. The Italian Sausage is soy free. Their printed menu marks the items that are Gluten-Free, Vegetarian, Low Carb, and /or Paleo Friendly. I bought several meals on my first visit and ate them over three days. On the same day as my visit I had the Smoked Turkey with Low-Fat Mac & Cheese for lunch. The smell of the Turkey really drew me in when it was reheated, and the taste matched that expectation. Unfortunately the flavor of the Low-Fat Mac & cheese didn’t rise to the same heights as the Turkey. Some of that may have been because it was low-fat, but there was a slight grainy quality to the pasta which I’m sure was because it was whole wheat pasta. It also took longer to reheat than the meat, but I consider that a minor issue. As an added bonus, all of their dishes tended to be high in protein, with this one being the highest I had at 50 g. This dish also came with green-beans, but since that’s a veggie I don’t like, I gave them to my wife, who later had them as a side dish for dinner. She said they were OK. The following morning I had the Blueberry Banana Pancake with Eggs & Bacon side. The pancake came out a little dry when reheated, even with the blueberry topping. The eggs were much better. The flavor that the bacon added helped this side dish side rise to a level that I’d seek out have again, and I more than eagerly finished it. Back to the pancake, even after adding some of my own maple syrup, it still seemed dry, This may be one of their items that is better eaten the same day, or as I’m beginning to think, should be reheated separately from the side dish. Later that same day, I had their Bacon and Goat Cheese Scramble for lunch. The mix of flavors was good on this one, with differing ingredients being highlighted in each bite. The goat cheese and the sun-dried tomatoes didn’t heat up as well as the other items in the dish, but with the cheese, it being cooler was another nice occasional contrast. Overall I enjoyed this dish almost as much as the previous egg and bacon side, but I would suggest reheating this at the higher end of Zedric’s recommended time. The next day I had their NY Strip w Grilled Vegetables, and this time I heated the meat and veggies separately, with the meat heating a little longer than the veggies. Because I didn’t like the beef as much as their turkey, I thought this dish wasn’t quite as good as the Smoked Turkey dish, but the veggies were far better than the Mac & Cheese. The zucchini was sweet, and the onions has a nice contrasting snap to them. (Please note that if you are concerned about recycling, their container tops and bottoms can be recycled, but the recycling symbol on their container bottoms is hard to find. I had to peel the label, and use good light, but found it listed as type 5.) Overall I was impressed with their dishes, and if I could mix-and-match, I’d combine their Smoked Turkey with a Grilled Vegetables side. Update on 4÷7÷13 — I got confirmation that their Italian Sausage is soy-free, and I finally found the recycling symbol on the container bottoms.

Wow! Really great(pre-prepared) gourmet food on a healthy level. I tried the medium sized«fried» chicken with kale and the mashed cauliflower. The fried chicken was actually a very nice sized baked chicken breast breaded with almonds. I have never had mashed cauliflower before, but have heard of it many times from the lo carb folks. It was really quite tasty and had just a little bit of a spicy«kick» to it. Their variety is awesome and they even have a discount shelf. This consists of stuff made the day before that didn’t sell. Don’t be scared of it, it’s still safe to consume! The only thing keeping them from five stars is that they are just a tad on the pricey side. Other than that, the food quality was great and so was the service. You should check this place out for yourself.
