Awesome, great attitude from employees, they seem to really like their job. Food was fresh and made while I was still ordering

Thank you for the delicious caldo de pollo! Mmm I really needed it today since I have a cough & sore throat. So good. It has carrots, celery, & corn. It comes with mini tortilla strips, cheese & cilantro on the side if you want to add it in. $ 6.59 for the large. Looks kinda small for my big ass but I loved it.

I ordered the«Double Chicken Mango» tosada salad. Then only double of anything was lettuce. There were four small diced pieces of mango and 4 diced pieces of chicken. Waste of my time and money. Horrible.

My son and I went there and they couldn’t even get his name right. A homeless lady walks in with a bag of dirty cans and sets them on a table. She continues to the soda machine to fill up her cup that she pulled out of the trash can. Meanwhile, the employees see her and say nothing. A lot of the employees were sitting and watching her and did nothing. I complained to the manager and she acted like she didn’t know what was going on. The table where the bag of dirty cans never got wiped.

Here’s a quick description of my visit to El Pollo Loco Store #3669 @ 758 Highland Ave. San Bernardino, CA92405. Horrible from the beginning. I walked in with 2 of my friends about 9:10pm on Sunday night. The cashier was the manager. When I walked in the store, it looked like they were closing for the night, & we asked if they were still open, & just like the hours on the door, the cashier /manager said they were open until 10pm. My 2 friends ordered their food on the same ticket, & then I placed my order shortly after on a separate ticket. When I stepped up to the cashier to order, I noticed there was a sanitation bucket with a dirty rag sitting in front of the cash register next to the salsas that were sitting on the pick-up counter about 3 – 4 inches away, instead of on ice in the salsa bar. In the midst of my order, which was a #5 tostada salad add avocado combo, & a chicken avocado burrito by itself, the manager /cashier argued with me about my order, insisting I wanted the #6, but I’ve never had a #6, so I insisted I wanted the #5 add avocado. Finally my order was placed & paid for at 9:13pm, according to my receipt. I go to fill my drink, however there wasn’t any iced tea. The ice tea dispensers had already been brought in back for cleaning. While I’m waiting for someone to acknowledge that I’m trying to get their attention, so I can ask if there’s iced tea by the drive thru, 5 mins later another customer walks in. They take his order, then walk away, ignoring my request for iced tea. Finally I catch the manger, who was trying to walk away again, & ask if she could fill my cup with some iced tea. I wait for my food(tostada salad & burrito). The customer that walks in 5 mins after me gets his order & leaves. I’m still waiting. I finally get called for my order at 9:39pm, about 25 mins after the order was place. By that time my friends that I had come to share a meal with had already finished eating their meals, so I decided to take my meal to-go. Apparently this frustrated the manager because when I asked her if I can have it to-go, she let out a loud sigh of frustration. The sigh was loud enough to let me know that what I was asking for was making me a, for lack of a better phrase, «pain-in-the-ass» customer, & the cause of her frustration. She then proceeded to open a bag, & then dropped my burrito into the bag without care, or regard for the presentation of my food. When I say«dropped,» I mean dropped like a sack of potatoes. Then she picked up my salad dressing & threw it hard enough into the bag, that I was seriously surprised it didn’t open & spill all over the bag. Then she placed my tostada salad in the bag on top of the burrito & dressing. I take my food home, & open the tostada salad, which was missing the sour cream, & it looked like it was thrown together without a care, even though it took 25 minutes to make. On top of that, mixed in the salad was a 2 – 3 inch chicken bone that I was lucky enough to cough back up after almost choking on. I find it unacceptable to wait over 25 mins for a salad that wasn’t made with care, but instead made with a choking hazard. There was plenty of time to make sure that bone wasn’t in there after 25 mins of preparation. I was too scared to eat my burrito after that, so I gave it to my roommate. He said over half the burrito was cartilage, there was little to no avocado in the Chicken Avocado burrito. I feel that this experience was a complete waste of $ 14.47. I also feel that the manger has poor management skills, & that this establishment needs new management. She told one of the friends I had come with he couldn’t order a the cheesecake tamale, or whatever it is because they were already cleaning the fryer at about 9:25… Why would you be cleaning the fryer when the restaurant is still open for business? I should be able to order anything on the menu until close, unless stated. Or is that too much to ask for? Anyways, walking in at 9:10, the staff & management especially, made me feel like I was the guy who walks in at 9:59… Very unwelcomed. I was never informed or apologized to for how long my order took. I also didn’t seem like the only one having issues with my order, the manager seemed overwhelmed & frustrated with the drive-thru as well. All-in-all, not a pleasant experience, & I most likely won’t return to that location again. I only gave it 2 stars because I’ve had good food there in the past, however it should really only get 1 star.
