the curtido was not fresh, they serve small portions, the fried yucca with pork was bad, the four pork pieces were nothing but lard

Happy to find this location in the SB area. Being Salvi, I am impartial towards Salvi food. This place is definitely legit. I invited my mom to lunch during a quick break that I had today from work. I had a revuelta and ajo pupusas. I have never tried garlic pupusas here in the states just in where their famous from in olucuilta el Salvador. Let me tell you it was bomb diggity dot com. The pupusas are big in size, flavor and ingredients. I also had their choripan. Now choripan is not a true Salvi dish but more of a south american dish consist of local grilled chorizo, chimichurri sauce and Cole slaw. This hybrid salvi version I was told that it was from home made Salvi chorizo. The creation was genius and most of all worth ordering. They also have a small bakery on the side which you can buy a few selections of Salvi bread. I took a few pieces home for later on to nite. The front girl at the register is the owners daughter by the name of Amy. She is very helpful, friendly and cares about her customers. This goes a long way since the other Salvi restaurant locations in SB truly suck balls with customer service and I won’t mention any names lol anyhow from a Salvi this location is a true gem and hope it lasts open for a very long time. Salud!

I will admit, finding this place was a little tricky. On the outside of the restaurant, you don’t really see a huge sign that says«Hidden Paradise» but rather, you’ll see«PUPUSAS» instead. Once inside, this place is fairly small and if you’re with a huge group, I highly recommend getting your food to go since there is a limited amount of seats. Most of the food items are fairly priced. Finding this place from the awesome Unilocal reviews, my friends and I decided to do the family pack. Ordering 3 – 4 of this deal was more than enough in feeding around 10 – 12 people :) Service is quick and efficient, and the wait staff was very accommodating to my group’s individual orders on the pupusas(and even labeling the boxes with names per person!) Overall, the food here is tasty. Even though I had expected a wee bit more meat in the pupusas, the portion wise was filling enough and the dough used was a yummy flavor. I highly recommend getting the chorizo and mixed flavors for the pupusas since these were the most flavorful in comparison to the other options.

Came to this place a few weeks back in October with my girlfriend… A guy was being a creep outside the window, but that’s besides the point. This place is delicious, the food is amazing, the shrimp pupusa is the most delicious thing I’ve tasted. What makes it better is that it’s a small family run place and you can taste the love in the food. Def going back and would recommend to anyone who loves good food! :)

This is exactly the kind of local restaurant that I could go to several times a week! The prices were unbeatable and the service was absolutely amazing! We were greeted with a smile and when they ran out of an item we all ordered, they gave us a replacement order of plantains and free dessert breads. Buuuut it didn’t stop there! The food was unequivocally superb! I highly recommend the vegetable papusa, the bean/cheese/garlic papusa, the plantains, and the plantain empanadas(though these might not be the preferred item for those not possessing a sweet tooth).

Absolutely wonderful service, we will definitely be back! We tried: Pupusas(Duh): shrimp and veggie. They were so yummy but I couldn’t really taste the shrimp. It didn’t matter they were wonderful, and they actually gave a lot of coleslaw. And it was HOT. Plantains, beans, and cream: I didn’t love the beans, but the plantains were incredible. SOGOOD. The beans were a tad greasy. Empanadas: a bit too sweet for me but the person I went with said this was his favorite. We got the cream ones. So sometime I’ll try the beans! I was sad cause I really wanted a corn tamale! And we paid for it and then found out they were out, BUT the wonderful lady working really made up for it by giving us some extra plantains and cookies. Really, we will be back for sure, especially thanks to her. I should have gotten her name. Next time!

Ok, so in my last review, I vowed to try the burgers on my next visit… I failed. Each time I returned, I found myself being unable to resist those delicious pupusas(read my previous review, they ARE… THAT…GOOD). SO, here we are four subsequent visits later and I finally made good on my promise. I ordered the Jalapeño burger combo(comes with French fries and a drink). The burger was about as good as a home made burger can be. Now, I don’t think the burger was the best I’ve ever had or anything, but they don’t claim it to be. They merely state it is a home made burger, so my expectations were met, and slightly exceeded. Look, let’s simplify this: this was a darn good, home made burger. It was cheesy, and with a perfect Jalapeño spice. The side of fries was plentiful and they were fried to PERFECTION(yes, perfection. None were overly squishy, none were overly crispy or dry, they were all«just right»). The five stars is representative of this burger review, along with my previous pupusa(and service) review.

They are so amazingly nice here! They make sure everything is up to par with what you requested and they even ask you how you want your to go order bagged. That already has me sold! And then I get home to open the bag of delicious smelling pupusas and they’re very decently sized for the price. I tried the cheese and beans and cheese and jalapeños both were so fantastic! I loved their pupusas and their establishment I love that it’s built on family and they remind me of the roots where my parents came from! You guys have a regular customer in me!

I ride the metro link everyday to work and live in San Bernardino and stumbled on this Hidden Paradise right across the street from the Metro Link Station in San Bernardino. Awesome prices and a great variety of food from El Salvador and they serve breakfast and home made hamburgers and fries just like mom makes them. One thing I do enjoy is the service and the nostalgic history of ElSalvador on the walls and I always enjoy there morning pastries and coffee before I board the train.

Unilocal reviews are right. Great pupusas! We ordered the mixtas, chicharron with cheese, jalapeño/beans/cheese along with a fried yucca. They were delicious! We ordered to go but the place was clean when I picked the food up and the lady up front was really friendly.

Very clean, best tasting pupusas I’ve had so far. Not greasy at all. The staff is always very friendly. The fried bananas are delicious. The lunch combo is perfect 2 pupusas and a drink for $ 5.50. My new fav Salvadorian place. Dont forget your 10% discount for San Bernardino County Employees. Yum :) !
