Love Curry Express — a nice high quality option in the Tanforan mall food court. Love the lamb curry, chicken tikka(with and without masala) — in particular a really good vegetarian selection. Naan portions are generous but quality is not as high as the rest of the food. Samosas not quite as good as Curry Up Now — need to up their game ;-) We eat here at least once every two weeks, definitely makes the regular rotation.

A couple months ago, we walked by and noticed. So a Pak/Indian restaurant is at Tanforan, eh? Good. Sorabol sucks. Plus, off my head, this was the bay area’s last major ethnic food group to have not made presence in a mall food court. Wait, it said«N n C» on top. Oh crap, not that place… Long story short, those of us who went to Cal in the previous decade had nightmares of bones, dry cardboard and bloated stomachs on Telegraph Avenue. By the time we had actually visited the place for food, this had already become Curry Express. And I forgot what made me look, but I realize that this place served dishes that was actually really hard to find elsewhere. Haleem. Nihari. Jalfrezi. Etc. My cousin and I had the beef jalfrezi and nihari asking with garlic naan and keema naan that time. It was an excellent meal and he liked his first desi food experience. The nihari was rich in flavor. The naans were big. Your typical Chinese customer might not appreciate the nihari, but they will like the jalfrezi for sure, thanks in no small part to the dish being 99%* tender beef. Sorry, manager, for mentioning NnC, but until reading another review 15 minutes ago, I was totally confused and I still wonder what the heck happened. The same Unilocal posting is used now as under the old ownership. But here is another reason why I mentioned NnC: I ____fear NnC’s chicken tikka masala. And I’m writing this post to announce: don’t worry, the chicken tikka masala here will leave you satisfied. My father ordered the #1 out of interest, and everything turned out just fine. The chicken wasn’t dry, not so for breast meat. The naan was good. Interestingly enough, they serve the dish here with lots of methi leaves in the sauce. I’ll do a review again when I’m back.

Really good lamb biryani, way better than you would expect from a food court place. Not greasy and the flavors were excellent. Could have been more meat probably but the overall portion size was good, plenty for me after a workout. Would recommend.

Yup, you’ll recognize a lot of these flavors. It’s renamed and under separate ownership, but all of the menu items are still identical to Naan ‘n’ Curry. You can expect the same crack-addictive tikka masala flavors, fluffy naan, etc., but it still might tear you up(if you know what I mean). The folks were very nice and even though we went at an off-peak time, the items still came out fresh. There’s just only so much fast-food Indian I can handle. Prices are still in line with what you’re used to. They have raita and the mint chutney, but they unfortunately don’t carry the tamarind sauce anymore :( In summary, it’s good food for good value for a food court, but just know that it’s still the same quality and consistency as Naan ‘n’ Curry.

As a vegetarian, I have gotten combo with Paneer tikka, naan and rice from here multiple times but the quantity they gave was really unfair compared to other items they serve. It has couple of small cheese cubes and little bit of curry. The quantity went even lower last week and there’s hardly enough sauce to finish half a naan. So you end up eating the other half and rice just buy itself. The only reason I kept going back was because I liked the taste and it was convenient. I really hope management takes this issue seriously.

Fantastic, delicious Indian food at great prices. Was not expecting this from a food court! I always order the Lamb Vindaloo(this usually comes with a warning that it is REALLYSPICY, and they are NOT fucking around) with a side of rice and an order of garlic naan. Seriously, I love spicy food but the Vindaloo is almost too much even for me. Doesn’t matter, it’s way too delicious to stop eating. Never had any sort of addiction to Indian food until I discovered this place(and I’ve had lamb vindaloo at other restaurants… wasn’t nearly as good).

Very good! Much better than I was expecting! Got a chicken tikka meal with rice, Naan and soda for around $ 10. Large portions! I could have easily shared it. Garlic Naan bread is huge. I couldn’t even finish my meal! It breaks my heart to have to throw it out! I will be back. :)

I tried the shrimp masala and the lamb biryani at the Tanforan curry express and i was very pleased with the food. The shrimp masala is a blast and i never had such a delicious curry in a long time. I will be heading there soon.

Unassuming food court curry place has surprisingly tasty lamb tikka masala. Wouldn’t mind a few more chunks of meat, but the curry itself was delicious! Ample amounts of naan and rice with the combo.

I got the #3 combo which included two chicken kabobs, chicken tikka masala, rice, naan, and salad. all for $ 9! It was a lot of food and I had to share just cuz there was way too much. I also got a mango lassi which is always Yums, even though I thought this was a tad too sweet for my liking. I didn’t like how they didn’t give a lot of tikka masala in this combo. Did it even have any chicken? It was spicy and not as sweet and yogurty as other ones I’ve had in the past. Not bad but not the best. The kebabs were great !!! My favorite part. along with the rice. I also love naan but I didn’t eat too much of it cuz bread is the devil(that’s another story in itself). Speaking of naan, the bread was huge! Bigger than my head. I have a tiny head though haha. Anyway not too bad for Indian mall food. It’s actually good! Try it out instead of panda… which is good too.

You know, for a mall these guys are not mall food. They are above that and they cook their food as such. Authentic tasting and average priced. Yes it’s convenient to my work, and yes I was very skeptical being that it’s in a mall, but these guys proved me wrong. They already about to open one at serramonte too. Good attitude, good service, good food. I’ve had authentic Indian /Pakistan food. On the scale– the authentic rated 1 – 5 being a 5 this place trails at the side of authentic 4.7. Don’t knock it til you try it and if you like spicy tell them to make it extra spicy.

I swear I never craved Indian food until I started coming here! I didn’t expect quality food from a mall food court, but Curry Express proved me wrong. I always get a Lamb or Chicken Tikka Masala with a side of the Garlic Naan, and the portion leaves me feeling full but not bursting. They have great lunch specials too: I think it was Tikka with Naan AND Rice for $ 9. But for me, the garlic naan is too amazing to pass up! They make pretty much everything to order, so it’ll take about 10 – 15 minutes depending on what you get. So if you’re in a hurry I’d recommend calling ahead to cut down on the wait time. Trust me, I’ll be back!

I would not eat here again. I ordered the chicken Tika masala with some garlic naan and a mango lassi. The masala was disgusting. The sauce on it was just horrible. It tasted so much like tomato and the chicken was dry as hell. The naan tasted like too much garlic and it was hard. Like I was biting into a piece of cardboard. Yeah masala sauce is a tomatoe sauce but this one was just over powering. The only good thing about this place was the mango lassi. If you want real Indian food you need to try rasoi in downtown Burlingame. I will not be eating here again

To the management, The information regarding the affiliation with Naan-N-Curry was provided to me by someone working there and I’m simply reporting what I was told. I didn’t have reason to question what I was told and it was very plausible since this location just opened. I still come here, the chicken portions are a little skimpy on the tikka masala but otherwise we enjoy coming here, in fact I’m getting a chicken tikka masala combo right now.

Not bad. They actually have decent Indian food and quite a nice variety of dishes. I also appreciate the fact that they have combos, in which you can get a well-served meal for $ 9. I don’t know if you can control the level of spiciness(they didn’t ask me how I wanted it), but their dishes are definitely not very spicy. I got the #1 combo, which was the Chicken Tikka Masala with rice and nan bread. It was quite decent. The nan surprised me — it was pretty good. I also tried my fiancé’s Palak Paneer, and it was OK. Both of us had mango lassi to drink. It was cheap quality. It tasted a little bit artificial and it was a little bit watery. It was still OK, though. I wouldn’t expect more from a fast food place.

Great alternative to mall food of burgers, hot dogs, pizza, etc. I asked about other locations and this is the first one. They are an off-shoot of Naan-and-Curry that will be branded differently from their parent company. They are mainly looking to expand into smaller outlets. Had the chicken tandoori and lamb curry combos. Very tasty sauces and lamb was tender and juicy. Chicken was had good flavor and the naan was light and fluffy. When I’m in the mood for another movie, I’ll probably head downstairs for another tasty meal. I didn’t see it on the menu, but I think they would do a brisk business with a variety of lassi drinks. Good job guys and good luck!

Okay for all the times that I have ate here at, San Bruno for this restaurant it has been good, but today is not so Great. the service was great and respectful, yet the service when it came to my lamb was over charred and in my opinion over cooked, also one of the chops looked like it was cut or cooked like it was chewed, also it didn’t look«they made enough chop.» if you know what mean thank you to the manager last time I was here, because I got my money’s worth with the quality, today is the first day I got bad quality food, which makes this rating go down I’d hope they do better with this food the only reason for this rating being high is for the other times I was there had good service, but the quality wasn’t as great and some points though if they can get certain things more correct then this place then come on.(Blame Siri for any mistakes)

I decided to drop by the food court at Tanforan on my way home from the office for something quick, and was delighted to find a new Indian establishment, open about 3 weeks now. Entrees(some at least) are cooked to order and I was told my lamb vindaloo would be about 10 minutes. It was more like 5. My mouth was astonished — not just because they didn’t tone down the heat to curry favor(see what I did there?) with Western palates, but because of the nuanced flavors and richness of the gravy. Their food is simply anazing, the quality is FAR beyond what one would expect from a mall food court. Another plus is that prices and portion sizes are also quite reasonable. I’ll be back for more whenever I’m in the area.

As a Bay Area favorite I was really pleased to see it in the food court along with the other upgrades and new additions like chipotle. Naan n Curry has a superb range of lamb dishes — bone in — and great tandoor flavors. I love a full bodied sauce and NnC never disappoints bringing nice authentic herbs and spices to the top of your palette without overdoing the chilly heat. The naan are HUGE and the perfect mopping bread for the lamb curry($ 7) or the Karahi Gosht($ 8). Both have large cubes of marinated lamb. The gosht, a masala dish, has a great sauce of tomatoes, onions, bell pepper, and is nicely spiced. The lamb curry is a plain sauce. Biryanis here are a bit special. They have whole cardamom pods, onions and other spices. The sliced mint adds real variety and Northern India overtones. Nice big prawns/shrimp in the seafood version and perfectly cooked curried potatoes which are a couple of inches square. Not disappointed and it’s a destination when I have four or five hours to kill at the airport.
