Pizza Studio really surprised me considering that it’s in a mall food court. Like all the other build-your-own pizza-with-unlimited-toppings joints that have popped up in recent times, their pizza you have a multitude of options to customize your pizza and it gets cooked in fast time. I liked how they had at least 5 different sauces and crusts to choose from and although the sky’s the limit with all the toppings you want for $ 7.99, I decided to go a little classic with mine. Pepperoni, mushrooms, chicken sausage, garlic, mozzarella, tomato sauce, on traditional crust( ). I really enjoyed this pizza! the toppings were evenly distributed with each slice and they definitely didn’t skimp on toppings as you can see from the picture. I really have no complaints about it. It was a solid pie and a great deal for $ 7.99. One more thing to note, if you sign up on their website for their rewards program, you get a free pizza on your birthday. Just the fact that you get a free pizza is a big deal already. So if you’re inside or around Tanforan and have a craving for fast pizza, I recommend Pizza Studio. **update** Just realized that they’ve closed down. That’s a bummer. I hope they open again soon nearby because their pizza was pretty good. But for now they are no longer in operation at Tanforan.

Honestly kinda dig Pizza Studio pizzas more than any in the Bay Area artisan pizza scene. Or maybe I’m just really ridiculously good at building tremendous pies. Get the firecracker crust. Get the regular pizza sauce but ask them to add in some of the buffalo wing sauce. Mozzarella. A little bit of blue cheese(not the fancy strong kind, but the just right kind for these pies) Get kalamata olives. Get extra kalamata olives. Get even more kalamata olives. Ask them to add the hard-boiled egg quarter slices and get a weird look and maybe even a laugh because, ‘those are supposed to be for the salads, lol’, but then don’t even care that they laugh at you because that sh*t tastes good AF on the pie. Then take your pizza to go because this mall is pretty terrible as far as ambience unless you have a fetish for off-brand athletic shoe stores and pretend like you’ll eat the pizza at home but then open the box in your car and have one slice and realize that you’re 100% just going to finish the whole thing right then and there because it’s so damn good and make a mental note to get yourself two pizzas next time.

Maybe some of the best pizza I’ve had in a long time. Can’t go wrong you kinda help create it yourself. There’s soo many options they give you all the way down too the dough. If you come between 2 – 5 the pizza is only five bucks, I’d say its worth coming even after that. I came because of a groupon but this is a groupon success story because I will be a regular here. The pizza tastes healthy. I love pizza but it definitely helps not too have that ugh feeling in your stomach after. YOu pay a flat fee for the pizza and get all the toppings you want unlimited even sauces and spices no charge. How can you possibly beat that. YOu can watch them make it right in front of you too. How cool is that!!! The customer service is cool and the vibe is right . Its at the Tanforan mall food court. This is definitely a Gem in the food court.

Pizza Studio is a DIY pizza joint in the food court in the San Bruno mall. The concept is simple — pick a crust, sauce, cheese, and an unlimited amount of toppings on a personal pizza. I recommend starting with one of their pre-made menu items as a base and adding your own ingredients. I got the garden pizza with chicken! The cheese, sauce, and topping options are more clearly laid out on the website than on the menu and there’s actually a lot of variety. The pizza crust is thin, but I can understand why since my pizza was fully baked in a couple of minutes. Also, for $ 8.99($ 5.99 between 2pm-5pm), I think it’s still an appropriate amount of food. Definitely worthwhile if you’re in the mall!

1st time here and the customer service couldn’t be any better. I want to thank Jaime for building my Pesto pizza! & Guillerma for making me and my cousin feel like family! The pizza was good but the customer service was 100% awesome! A lot of positive energy coming from the employees here. Thanks again

It is the same concept like Pieology and Blazing. First you pick the crust you want. I ended up getting the herb flavored crust. Second you pick your veggies and meat. It takes about two minutes for the pizza to cook. Overall it was good. I like how the flavored crust gives it an unique taste. Compared to the other pizzerias, it is very average. The only advantage they have is their flavored crust. They don’t really have a big variety of toppings. I was surprised when they didn’t have any spinach. Maybe it was the way I made the pizza, but it wasn’t so great. Probably wouldn’t come back next time and just stop by Pieology instead.

This was my first time to Pizza Studio and I am already thinking about coming back soon. Not only did I like the crust(not a pre-made crust) but was made from fresh dough, I also loved that you had a choice of seasonings and unlimited toppings for the same price. Many of the pizza restaurants have really gotten expensive so this is a great alternative especially for those that are on a limited budget.

Good Pizza with healthy crust options one up from other pizza places! Thin crust but lots of toppings for one price and large size. This is a good place for healthy pizza less carbs.

Good concept, but staff is not attentive… Trying to get there attention is hard. We got skipped by 2 people because they made a mistake on another order. Pizza quality is average at best, about what you expect from the mall… but it is customized

Although the pizza was ready in just 4 minutes and was cooked and looked visually appealing, the cuts were way off with large and small sizes. The worst part was the oily and soggy crust. Yuck, nothing worse that using a $ 5000 machine to make the crusts turn out like that. Way too much oil the the dough recipe and if they invested in a good oven, they would make a fine pizza much better.

Like my Unilocal friend Jack L. said, this was more like a flatbread then a pizza. So true. So true. NOT a fan of their funky crust. Not a fan of their skimpy toppings. Tastes like some weird flatbread than an actual pizza. Or maybe like a cheap frozen pizza, even though it is fresh. Something about the dough and ingredients that make is tastes funny. Except, I’m not laughing after spending $ 9 for this thing.

My first stop today will lead to many more. 1. The store has a rewards program, which helps charity and you get a free pizza when you reach a certain point level. 2. Lots of choices to make your own type of pizza. The variety of ingredients was impressive. If you find it hard to make choices, you might want to look around before you step in line. 3. Fountain Drinks — Free Refills

I had never been here before today, but after my experience I will make it a point to come here more often. They have options for people how have certain dietary requirements(gluten free crust, vegan cheese, etc…). The workers here were also very happy to work with us in getting our pizza made just right. Thank you Miguel and Anjela! You guys are outstanding! I want give a special thank you to Miguel who went and double checked that the Italian seasoning didn’t have pepper in it. Turns out it did(my girlfriend has a pepper alergy), so Miguel and Anjela remade the pizza and when it came out, Miguel sanitized the prep area so that no residual pepper accidentally got on the pizza.

My first time trying this place was a little apprehensive because it’s at the mall and the line was long but boy was I WRONG! Let me tell you $ 8.99 for your own custom pizza with unlimited toppings AND there are different crusts to choose from like traditional, Rosemary, gluten free and my favorite flax seed with whole grain! It’s a thin crust and takes about 2 – 3 minutes to bake!!! Yes, yes, yes!!!

2.5STARS Bootsy Pizza. My latest obsession are BYO pizza chains that have been recently popping up in the SF/Peninsula area. They’re quick, super cheap, and deliciously satisfying. Well, that’s until I visited Pizza Studio. Opening on Tuesday, April 7th, Pizza Studio is the latest BYO, Chipotle-style pizza chain to open in the SF/Peninsula area(inside The Shops at Tanforan). All 11 inch pizzas with unlimited toppings are $ 8.99. They have 3 signature original pizzas: margherita, and pepperoni, and buffalo chicken. They also offer pre-packed salads and cookies. I liked that they offered a variety of crusts(more than their competitors): traditional, whole grain & flax seed, rosemary herb, firecracker, and gluten-free. However, everything else just pales in comparison to their competitors. *No menu of available ingredients. Nothing is labeled. *Limited toppings: no white sauce, no vegan cheese, no garlic, and no arugula. *Lacking in quality: caramelized onions were sautéed onions and diced potatoes tasted like home fries from a frozen bag. *Questionable cooking method: They use a small TurboChef conveyor«oven» which looked more like a salamander(open on both ends): . I was quoted a 2 minute cooking time. All other BYO pizza joints I’ve been to cook their pizzas at least 3 minutes and they use real ovens. For my BYO pizza, I choose a traditional crust with red sauce, mozzarella, bacon, spicy sausage, potatoes, caramelized onions, and red onions: . You can’t have a great carb dish without a solid canvas, in this case, the crust. The pizza looked good but it was disgusting. The entire bottom crust was undercooked, soggy, and floppy. I could still taste the raw dough in the middle. The exterior crust had no flavor or chew. It just tasted like hard cardboard. I picked out the potatoes because they weren’t warmed through in the center. The spicy sausage was good but it wasn’t spicy. Other than that, it’s the worst BYO pizza I’ve had. In fact, I’ve had better frozen pizzas than this. Bootsy. I should of known better when there was no line during peak lunch time on a Sunday. Panda Express, I’m coming for you next time!

I created my own masterpiece. There are a lot of different toppings to chose from but first you choose your crust which include gluten free options. I chose the flaxseed crust and my toppings include mushroom, bell pepper, fresh garlic, onions, jalapeño peppers, grilled red peppers, bacon, pepperoni, and finally basil. The cheese was very stringy which I loved. The crust was thin which was perfect and the time in the oven cooked my pizza to the perfect degree where my pepperoni had a little crisp to it. I can’t believe I ate the entire pizza on my own in one seating, it was yum! Service was very friendly and fast.

Today, I took my little daughter to Pizza Studio after watching the Cinderella matinée movie at Century Movie Theatres in Tanforan. She was craving pizza, and so we headed to the Tanforan food court. Good thing, we spotted Pizza Studio because the pizza was AWESOME! The place recently opened and I was a bit skeptical at first, but their staff was very friendly and polite. They took their time to explain how their pizza is made. Basically, you select the type of bread you want as the crust(traditional, or rosemary, or gluten free, or whole grain with flax seed), then you choose the type of sauce(tomato or basil or extra virgin oil, etc), then you choose the toppings to your pizza, and your pizza is baked in front of you in about 5 – 10 minutes. They had a variety of fresh toppings to choose from: various fresh cheeses, veggies, meats, and spices, etc. The crust is thin like New York pizza. My lil daughter and I ordered a mozzarella cheese pizza on a traditional crust with tomato basil sauce & garlic… plus one Izze drink which came out to a little more than $ 9. The pizza was so tasty and flavorful! I will definitely be coming back, especially since my daughter loved the pizza and the kind staff! Great service from the staff and great pizza!!! Go check it out!!!

They were giving out 11inch pizza for free today before the grand opening. You have about 4 – 5 different types of pizza crust and the once we’ve tried have been really good so far. The service was awesome… hopefully it will stay like that. You can add whatever toppings you like, from the cheese, pesto, veggies and meats, you can’t go wrong. Hopefully the great service won’t change! 04.06.15
