My Breakfast House was a destination since i found parking nearby. no other reason. l-ish, just a few tables occupied. glanced at menu, pricey fare: burgers, sammies, omlettes, breakfast items, salads, etc. portions large. eats: ½# niman ranch hamburger(8.99) ordered med. rare –reddish meat but not juicy, slight meat flavor –side of potato salad served cold. tasted mushy. still mushy when thawed out. drink: appfel coffee(m. 2.2) –average brew, slight harshness. drips: –children’s playroom closed for insurance reasons. –breakfast, salads maybe the draw here. not interested in 10.50 omlettes… –service courteous, friendly, food made to order in corner space out of sight… –closes !:30, limited hours.

This place has solid breakfast food and friendly service. We used to love coming here for the playroom, and we were so sad it shut down

Having a cheeseburger and onion rings! Yummy. Rings are in tempura batter, burger has a great big sesame bun, fresh and tasty. Owners are really friendly. Highly recommend!

Of the three dedicated breakfast places in San Carlos(on this side of the freeway), this one’s my fav. I basically order the same stuff everywhere — bacon, scrambled eggs, and a waffle — but FWIW, those three items turn out better here than at Depot Café or Omelette House. Eggs: moist/fluffy/buttery. Bacon: crisp. Waffle: yum. Service can sometimes be slow, but it’s improved lately. And it’s friendly. Prices seem slightly steep for what you get(for $ 13 after tax/tip, they could at least throw in toast or something), but otherwise you’ll probably like it.

Left the lab across the street and was stumbling by, and looked in, and thought hmm, breakfast treat for my self. I was seated quickly, had a cup of coffee within a minute, and ordered a standard breakfast of just bacon, eggs, hash browns, and toast. Simple, quick, very good, and efficient. Very happy with my visit.

We came her on a weekend with the kids. We were originally attracted to this place because of the reviews and they had a playroom. When we got there we found out the playroom is now closed because of policy changes. Luckily there was no wait so we got seated right away. The staff was nice enough to give the kids a small notepad and crayons to entertain them. Speaking of staff, everyone was very friendly. The restaurant is not huge so I can see there being a long wait during brunch hours. The kids ordered a strawberry pancake and one banana/chocolate chip pancake. One pancake each was more than enough for them. The hubby and I got Joe’s favorite and the Chorizo scramble. Everyone was very happy with the dishes. No complaints here. We found a new brunch place we will be frequenting!

Solid, not overly complicated, good and honest food that hits the spot. Just what I want in a breakfast joint. Service is friendly and helpful. Everything on my plate was exactly how I wanted it and like it. This is a place I’d definitely put on my regular rotation.

Love this place — fresh food, amazingly prompt /friendly service and an extensive portion is provided. It’s substantially smaller than your usual neighborhood breakfast spot but you get more of a quality experience in return. Only issue is the noise from the adjacent tables– which is a small problem, but usually that depends on the clientele. Definitely will come back to gobble up their Crab Cakes Benedict!

I always pass by this place but never knew it existed — it’s a couple blocks away from downtown San Carlos in a more residential area so is easy to overlook. This place had a crowd of people waiting outside when I arrived. We didn’t have to wait too long for a table of 2 though — probably just about 10 or 15 minutes. This place seemed to have a lot of promise at first — attentive staff, good vibe, food looked yummy. But when my bf and I got our food, everything was just covered in butter. I could taste it in every bite. And my bf got half the serving of potatoes(also drenched in butter) that I did, even though we ordered the same dish. Perhaps it was just an off meal, but since this was our first impression of the establishment, we don’t really have an incentive to come back.

Terrible Service. We waited over 55 minutes for an omelet and pancake. Food is okay, but service is just bad. I do not know what’s their deal? It took them to take an order like 20 minutes after we sit down, and wait starts. Interestingly, people who came after us got their order. After waiting 40 minutes I asked the lady about food she said that kitchen is busy and she said that they are fixing previous orders. Surprisingly, 5 minutes ago next table who was behind us waiting outside got their food. Thank you for destroying my sunday

So happy that this place is not in the heart of San Carlos downtown because I don’t have to deal with all of the people, bad parking and random street fairs that pop up on Laurel. Kiddos to you! My sister wanted a simple breakfast: 2 eggs, sausage and HASHBROWNS(specifically!). Surprisingly, now a days, breakfast places only serve freakin country potatoes, but this place gives you options. I like options. I ordered three orders over the phone and the lady said it would be ready in 10 minutes. I hopped in my car and by the time I got there it was getting freshly packed into to-go boxes. This place knows how to serve a hardy breakfast!

I had a big breakfast craving for corned-beef hash and My Breakfast House totally delivered! Not that canned corned-beef stuff too. Mixed with onions and bell peppers it was rightly seasoned and served with 2 eggs and toast. The service was great too.

This not the Ritz, I don’t want to eat at the Ritz. I want yummy food and a place I feel comfortable in jeans and a tee shirt. This place is the real deal, I’ve never had a disappointment in all my times coming here. Everything on the menu is great. This is the type of place I’m elated to find when I’m traveling. Not fancy but really good, go for it.

A great local spot for breakfast — delicious breakfast choices, good prices and delightful service! Some favorites include the corn beef hash and Italian frittata! I recommend getting there early as it gets more crowded closer to brunch time.

The kids’ play room is closed for liability reasons. Not that I care since I am not a fan of kids period, but if you were thinking you would go for that, don’t. That out of the way, the food is mediocre, but the atmosphere and service are both fantastic. I like being served by people who obviously take pride in their business. I also like being served by people who take a genuine interest in their customers. The atmosphere is laid back, not fancy, but clean. I had omelettes both times I visited, and the ABC(avocado, bacon, cheese) was the best; I added mushrooms. Hash browns are meh, and I should have asked for them extra crispy. Iced tea tastes funky/old(both times I went), and biscuits look like they came out of a can. The scrambles and the omelettes, those are worth the visit, along with the service. Definitely coming back on my next visit!

4 stars for the food! I love that it’s made fresh. Try the corned beef hash if you come. It was one of the best I’ve ever had. Not greasy at all. Pancakes are fluffy and perfect paired with fresh strawberries and whipped cream. –1 star for the wait. It took FOREVER to get our food, but it was definitely worth it!

This is a decent brunch place located on a quiet street in San Carlos. It’s like a neighborhood shop. The brunch menu is not super expensive. You can expect to pay around $ 10/person for a meal. I got the waffle combo with scrambled eggs and bacon. The scrambled eggs were kind of crumbly(I usually like larger chunks) and it wasn’t that salted. It was quite buttery though. The bacon was fried very crispy. The waffle was just one large waffle that tasted okay although was not super hot for some reason. There is a kids playroom here so I guess this place attracts a lot of kids.

Our friends recommended this breakfast eatery down the street from their place. We parked on the street, walked in and got seated immediately. Ordered the following: (1) Italian sausage w/eggs and English muffin = was pretty good, the sausage came out as a patty! (2) Steak & eggs w/hash brown and toast = was good, husband had this dish. Everything was decent; not super crazy good, but decent. :)
