A Mission For Michael saved my LIFE! The staff and owners showed me a new way of life that I never thought would be possible for a person like me. Drew Fisher, Tripp Smith and the ENTIRE staff were all so supportive, sympathetic, available and caring. Without them I wouldn’t be where I am today. I have two years clean and I live a life beyond my wildest dreams. I got the Husband back, the kids back but most importantly my sanity back. Doc Pennington is very forward and tells you like it is and without that I don’t think I could have stepped out of my way and let the process of recovery begin in my life. Thank God for Doc for being so rough around the edges and HONEST! This program they offer you works IF you want it to. You can’t show up and leave an addict or alcoholic on their door step and say, «here, fix it» the person has to do the work. If you want help this is the place to go. It has worked in my life and my brothers life as well. I do recommend this treatment center to anyone who is willing to get help. A Mission for Michael saved my life and it can save yours too.

I was a resident at AMFM from December 2012-March 2013 when the women’s house was open. My experience was amazing! the staff was extremely hands on and supportive.

As a parent I found A Mission for Michael to be a great place for another attempt at rehab for my son and for me. I found Doc Pennington’s advice to us to be invaluable in supporting my struggle to not enable my son; and that requires some nose to nose confrontation. When asked if I would hire my son as an employee. I answered of course not. Then why put up with him as your child? Doc and Dan gave me understanding to support healthy boundaries with consequences. I learned that getting hurt from bad choices is not the same thing as being harmed. I discovered that I had an addiction to picking up my son’s backpack when it was up to him to carry it. Worse, he couldn’t carry it if I was holding on to it. I cannot change my son, just how I respond to his choices. He chose to participate in the program, even agreeing to an additional 45 days. I love the fact that they treat the underlying causes, not just the disease of addiction. I don’t think it works without this. I wish he would have stayed in the sober living, because I believe that it takes 12 – 24 months to get your thinking straight. His repeated previous failures are testament to that, but he has chosen otherwise. So I have to detach with love to take care of my business, which needs some real attention. He is currently sober and still working his rehab for that and all of the hard work and passionate caring and commitment I felt at A Mission for Michael I am grateful. I highly recommend the place if you and your son are willing to be responsible for doing just your own work.

Our son has been sober for over 15 months thanks to the compassionate, knowledgeable, loving and committed staff that we now call our family at A Mission for Michael. Drew Fischer personally drove to the hospital to pick up our son from detox and drive him back to the AMFM house and to the rest of his life. Both Lindsey and Drew were available at all times. The clinical staff at AMFM is highly educated and experienced in what they are trying to achieve, SOBRIETY! This program is not an individual’s problem program. If you think you are going to «dump» your kid off here and AMFM is going to «fix» them you are wrong. This is a «family» program. One of the first steps to recovery is for the parents to realize that they are contributory to the problem. If you accept the program and the help and LISTEN to what the PROFESSIONALS teach you then it works! Our family is living, joyous, clean, sober, restful night sleep proof. Our son now has a life long network of friends and support system because of AMFM, he has followed EVERY recommendation the professionals at AMFM have given him and he is clean and sober and alive and happy and giving back today because of it. No one can change unless they want to change. P. S. Thank you Doctor Pennington!
