I have NEVER been a fan of mexican food but this place is a GREAT place to start loving it! Their fish tacos are to die for and their breakfast burritos… holly balls! I recommend the potato and egg! I cant say enough good things about this place! Also they have peets coffee! Another perk in my book!(no pun intended)

Pretty much the worst customer service, attitude, I walked out, I have been there a few times before and the same thing, only reason it’s still in biz is prolly from the tourist that come to surf and they think its gonna be good. Respect all of your customers. And move your pos van that’s parked in the 2 hour parking only, why is it there all day?

Was there today and the lunch and coffee were excellent. Service was good and they met all my needs.

I only gave it 2 star because I USE to really enjoy the food. But it’s so hit or miss in quality these days. The owner is a decent guy so I give a star for him. There’s only one lady in there who rates stars and it’s for customer service. If she’s not working service sucks and is super slow! They mess up the order more often than not! Tonight they got my order right for the first time in a long time… But my bacon breakfast burrito was stone cold and the wrap was hard and crusty. The cheese wasn’t melted and there were only two very small pieces of soggy bacon in the bottom. My stomach is now cramping. I use to love this place … It was our treat night, and even used them to cater a large event. But I no longer give my recommendation to come here. Service and quality are lacking. Too many orders have been completely messed up(no dairy due to allergy means NODAIRY… without fail, there is cheese on the food…). Now I’m sick from a shitty burrito after many months of hoping it’d get better. Sorry to say they have lost our business.

Terrible customer service. Dry walnut fudge. Nasty bathrooms and overall gross restaurant. Would never come here again.

I ordered the taquitos with beans and rice. The beef taquitos were good, however, they weren’t served with a guacamole, but rather a guacamole sauce that was really watery. I was expecting a more viscous guacamole, which would have made the plate 100% better. Beans and rice were good. The outside patio furniture had rusty legs, which wasn’t appealing. The building itself is updated. Would I return? Yes, but I would ask more questions about the items before assuming.

Bad service. Didn’t get our order correct after stating it several times. Salsa was gross. Bean and cheese burrito was good. The crispy chicken tacos tasted OK. Still probably a better choice than the Carl’s Jr across the street.

I had the three veggie taco plate combo. Really good. Close to the beach. Great place.

Love it! Great quality Mexican food on the go. Their drive-thru makes it «the spot» to stop after your Trestles session for an amazing Breakfast Burrito. Don’t come looking for to much thrill, just some great Mexican food. Huge ratio of Burrito to Dollar. Come hungry leave satisfied.

Not good. The only reason I gave it one star was because the tostada was okay. The chips were burnt and stale and the salsa tasted like 3 week old stewed tomatoes. I’ve been here before and ordered a Carne Asada taco which was okay, but after this experience I will not return.

Whoa. Ordered Carne Asada and California Burritos. Got shredded beef burritos from the frozen aisle Ralph’s…heated 3 minutes of course. What a shame. Your better off at Colima’s and Alberto’s in Carlsbad. I can’t imagine this place in business for much longer if they continue to use such low grade beef. No wonder… not a soul entered as we ate our gourmet frozen burritos.

The most disappointing bean and cheese burrito I’ve had in a while. It was a little concerning that there was nobody else in there at 6pm on a Saturday. The three carne asada burritos we ordered for our co workers all came with shredded beef. Very disappointing.

Three stars because of the excellent customer service. The food, however, was disappointing. Growing up with king taco in LA, tacos al Gordo in south San Diego, and taco Sinaloa in Torrance, this is NOT Mexican food. It is very Americanized, probably to cater to the demographic here. I ordered carne Asada taco that turned out to be a roast beef type consistency, and the chorizo burrito was not sausage like, but ground beef consistency. Portions are large. Horchata drink was not bad. If you know legitimate Mexican food, you will be disappointed after eating here. Other than that, the owner/employees are very nice to their patrons and seem to have regulars. Again, great customer service.

Scrumptious Mexican food and to die for desserts! The people working here are very nice and helpful. The portions are good and the food is really fresh. Stop by after a surf at Trestles or whenever! They have a great variety even acai bowls!

My wife and I dropped in here by accident on our way to LA. We were pleasantly surprised by the great food and friendly service. My chicken breakfast burrito was huge and was full of carne asada, guac, eggs, and a lot more. My wife’s beef tostada was delicious, also very full. With a burrito, tostada, fish taco(also good), and two bottle waters it was only $ 14. They also had a full selection of coffee and a massive acaí menu. Very good! And open early on a holiday weekend was an added bonus.

This is the best frigging breakfast burrito ever. True…je did raise his price on it a little… but seriously it’s worth every cent… actually more… don’t tell the owner I said that. So after a long hard day of your being a barney kook down at trestles… treat yourself to the world famous Café Del Sol breakfast burrito ! I have mines without beans… so I don’t be blasting the while day :)

This place had black beans, which is always a requirement when we eat Mexican. And it’s fast and easy in a pinch. However, the guacamole was more like an avocado smoothie. It was tasteless. It looked like they basically blended up avocado with water. It had no flavor and was kept in a squeeze bottle and very very very runny and watery. The food was ok for what you pay. It’s far from the fancy Mexican restaurants my family is accustomed to(including strong yummy margaritas), but it fit the bill tonight when we found ourselves in a pinch and needed to eat STAT. Props for having guyaki glass bottled teas. They also have acai bowls which I didn’t try but looked good in the pics. Well I’m not going to talk anymore smack about this place since you get what you pay for! I ordered a pescado(fish) tostada, and we paid $ 25 for a family of 4.

Had breakfast here two days in a row — always a good sign. First time because of terrible service up the street at SC Café, second time because of the first time. Great, moist chicken machaca, good chilaquiles. Only ding was the counter lady the second day trying to correct me when I ordered«machaca sin huevos» the second trip — «machaca has eggs». I’ve been eating different takes on machaca, north and south of the border, since before she was born. Machaca is a meat preparation, eggs are a common addition. I hope to never go to So. California again but if I do I’ll try to eat here.

I came here to see if they had good breakfast, and I was sadly disappointed. The person that attended us was rude and was rushing the whole time. Then I wanted to try the chorizo breakfast burrito and they got my order wrong. Instead I got a plain egg&potato burrito. Then I informed the man if I could get the chorizo burrito, and instead of being customer friendly he told me, «I didn’t charge you for the chorizo burrito». So I just walked away and I ate my so sadly bland non-chorizo burrito! I recommend going to Carl’s jr. Right next to it instead of this bland«Mexican» place.
