Inexpensive little place. Everything was okay. Nothing really great about it, the service was okay and the food was mediocre. Not bad, but not great either. Probably won’t ever go back.
It seemed like a regulars only kinda place. Weird vibe.

Great Chai and friendly service. I hand the corn beef eggs Benedict with hash browns. So good.

Omg! I just had the yummiest oh-​la-​la burger. I will definitely be back! It has sprouts tomato avocado lettuce and the most delicious dill sauce.

This place is the bomb! Always fantastic and delicious food, always fresh, always healthy!

I’ve been eating here for over 15 years.
This place is clean and their food is bomb.
I think they still only take cash?
It’s a great place for breakfast or lunch.
You can park in the parking lot behind the building.
To this day I still get confused by their menu/​menus.
It’s just a little scattered?
But I pretty much stick to the same choice items:
Bombay melt
Chicken curry sandwich on squaw
Tuna melt
Salads
Acaí bowl
Garden of Allah drink

Have been going here for years and it’s the best lunch ever!!! Love their Bombay melt and soups. Their POG juice is also delicious. Everything is great!!!

We pulled into San Clemente hungry and wanted a sandwich. We saw we were just down the street from here and went in.
Cons: The place was not amazingly clean and the chairs were stacked all around making it look like it was closed.
The lady that helped us did not have much of a personality, maybe it was because we were from out of town?
Pros: Food was great! Both plates we got were large portions and tasted wonderful. I was not expecting what I ordered to come out the way it did but it was awesome.
I would go back again possibly just cause the food made it worth it.

Fairly unassuming in appearance, but a really good establishment. Honey Vanilla Shake with Garden of Allah flavor? Absolutely incredible.
The better half got the black bean wrap which she loved, I got a turkey and bacon sandwich on squaw bread. We both really enjoyed our food immensely… but really, the shake was among the best cold drinks I may have ever had.

I LOVE this place. When I’m hungry and don’t want to be disappointed I come here! It’s always a sure thing…

Finally checked this place out. I ordered the Life Extender with turkey to go. Got home and no turkey. The sandwich was good but I’m disappointed my order wasn’t filled correctly. I will give them another try… stay tuned.

Really good salads, sandwiches and shakes. Right on deal mar downtown, a few outdoor tables, great to catch a quick bite and enjoy downtown San Clemente.

I had the soup of the day, «very veggie» which was excellent. I also had the, «Captains Passion» smoothie it was also a great treat. I would highly recommend stopping and enjoying this spot.

I’ve been coming to this café for as far back as I remember. I probably have been going here since I was 9 years old I think! (I’m 21 now) Back when it was called Captain Culvers!
This place is owned by some great people, ALL of the staff (who have worked there for years) are amazing. They offer great service and make such delicious food.
I recommend their veggie burgers with the bali sauce (I think thats what its called)
Indian Summer smoothie will always be my favorite.
GO!!! I love this place so much that I have been coming here for over 10 years.

Fresh eats and great smoothies. A must for vegetarians! A little pricy for the quantity of food, thus the 4 stars.

Loooove this place. Everything is so good and fresh, prices are fairly and you get a healthy portion! Tons of options and great location.
But the service is so so, they almost seem annoyed that you’re there ordering, not a lot of smiles or sincere greetings.

Captain Mauri’s is one of those places that you almost need to have a secret invitation to. Everything is so good. The healthy life is easy and tastes great here.
Their Organic tea is reallt the best tasting tea ive ever had.
The staff will make you laugh.
They are all so helpfun and generous with the portions.

When I was stationed in Camp Pendleton, I used to come here all the time for their sandwiches and smoothies. After moving to another town, many friends have asked me to show them the town of San Clemente. So here we are having lunch.
I’ve mentioned above that I uses to come to this place for their sandwiches. Something caught my eyes. Something new in their menu. Salmon salad. It was delicious. I demolished it like there’s no tomorrow. Worth checking out this place if you’re in town. They also have pictures of San Clemente on canvas that you can purchase to put in your living room.

Before I moved to California, I imagined that all restaurants in the state would look like this. A place with a chill, beachy atmosphere, a name featuring the word «Captain,» nice outdoor seating, a cornucopia of fresh smoothies and lots of sandwiches crowned with tender sprouts.
I’m happy to have finally found this place that I’ve surprisingly seen only in daydreams.
I ordered the Apple Chicken Salad sandwich and added avocado for a dollar more. The chicken salad featured big meaty lumps of chicken, which rocked. Too many times chicken salad is mashed up strings of meat and mayo, this wasn’t that. The chucks of apple were a nice sweet touch to the mixture too.
I think I would have liked a little more blast of flavor in the sandwich, but I think that could be easily solved by ordering the Curry Chicken Salad, which sounds awesome. I’ll definitely be trying that next time around.
I didn’t get a drink, but the menu features a lot of them and they all sounded good.
Overall, the ingredient all tasted very fresh and the menu features items for all tastes and diets.
Only word of warning, cash only.
