Very welcoming, great prices, and variety of menu items. The orange juice was delicious.

Good breakfast spot. Gets busy on the weekends. Typical breakfast items and good size portions. Service is really friendly and quick. Perfect little spot to sit outside with coffee on a nice day and enjoy breakfast. Definitely will come back.

Very big menu which I like! Plus breakfast all day! The food is decent. The employees are all really nice. Only downside is that it gets a little crowded inside so definitely request to eat outside if you can.

We were driving by and thought this looked like a good spot for breakfast. We were right. Very good food. I had the Ortega Hwy. Omelet and he had the Chorizo burrito. Coffee cup never got empty. Delicious.

Great food! Very friendly service! Small, community feel. We sat at the counter and watched the chefs at work. Very good time!

I do not get out alot. When I do, I like big food, good food, and a friendly atmosphere. Sunrise café provides all that and more. You can eat inside or out. The food is excellent no matter what I order I have enjoyed it. From omelettes to eggs benedict, my sisters personal favorite. I have never had a bad meal. I never leave hungry I always leave full and happy. All the staff are friendly. The wait for food or seating is never long. Good coffee too. A place to take family, friends and people who want that down home comfort food… P. S. They also will make your food to suit you personal needs. You really just can’t go wrong.

Had brunch with my aunt this morning. Great place for inside or outside seating. Parking lot in back. Restrooms in back. Ordered ham and cheese scramble was pretty tasty. Split blueberry pancakes. Asked for wells be hash browns only the top was well. Rest was mushy but otherwise good. Waitress was awesome !!! Owner was awesome !! Will definitely eat here again so many things to try on the menu.

I was driving through town and wanted to stop at a local café for lunch. I spotted this place and glad I did. I was greeted promptly and was told to sit where I would like. The server followed me to the table and offered a beverage. I was doing some work before I ordered lunch and she waited a few mins to check on me. I ordered and bam the chicken sandwich I ordered was out before o knew it. The whole team here seems to be super friendly. The server was super attentive and made sure I was happy during my meal. I believe to be the owner or manager even stopped to check on me. Keep it up. Good food and great service.

My wife, daughter & I went looking for some legitimate beach town diner food after church. Always wanted to try The Sunrise Café after finding out that Chen took it over(She owns The Calypso Café on Del Mar too). So glad we stopped in! We ordered 2 omelets between the 3 of us. Glad we went that route because THEOMELETSAREHUGE! We tried the Chorizo and the Italian Sausage, jalapeño, avocado omelets. Both were super tasty. Love the hash browns and home fries too(crispy-just like I like them). The service? Amazing! Food served fast, coffee cup never empty for more than 60 seconds.(Thank you Ketmanee! Your friendly smile & attentive service was so appreciated!) Then, as we’re ready to leave, we recognize Chen behind the cash register. She came to our table and chatted for a bit. So glad she’s brought her work ethic, great food, smile and attention to detail to this little San Clemente diner. We’ll be back :)

We love this place. A few months ago, our food was super late and I think they might not have had the staffing they needed, but I can say now service was amazing and food always on point. The owner is super sweet and got all new staffing few weeks ago and it’s rocking now!!! You must try this place! The BEST blue berry pancakes in all of San Clemente is right here! We be back soon!

Ok, well for one, it’s a thousand degrees inside. Better to go in the evening. The food was good, fluffy pancakes and good sausage. I had the pig in a blanket. Their orange juice is incredible! Soooo good. Other than that I was not impressed. It’s ok food and nothing spectacular. The price is mid level. Basically 9 $ dishes.

I came here with 2 friends. It was absolutely dreadful. Once seated we waited 15 min just for coffee and water. Another 20 min for our waitress to take our order. Half of the order was wrong. Waited 5 min for silverware. Flagged someone else down asked for silverware, they said ok and we never saw them again. Waited even longer for the rest of the order. When it came out the food was cold. For the quality of food, service and price, not worth it. Another friend recommended this little café and said it changed owners and is disappointed it has changed not for the better.

For the price of the omelet I had, I was expecting a lot more in terms of both amount and flavor. Definitely too bland and average quality. Maybe I made the wrong choice as my friend’s food did look better but definitely way too overpriced for what I got.

Great little local joint! Surfers breakfast, eggs bacon and toast. I prefer a lighter breakfast and it was nice to have this option. Eggs and bacon were perfectly cooked

What a charming, friendly, and delicious stop on Camino Real!(Not to mention the fact that they have a parking lot behind the restaurant which is a rare find in beach towns) The staff was great, the service was quick and friendly, and the mushroom Swiss burger was AWESOME!(So was the freshly made coleslaw — and I don’t usually like coleslaw)

Small, corner restaurant. Outdoor seating as well as inside. Super friendly waitress. Great food. Traditional breakfast stuff. Big servings that are totally shareable. Not disappointed at all.

Great little diner. Coffee, meat lovers omelet, hash browns and sausage gravy over a biscuit. Super, super, and 7 minutes from seated to served. My son had the same, nearly ate the ceramic off the plate. My wife ordered the breakfast tacos with cheese covered hash browns and gravy covered biscuit. Only 1 «hiccup», easy on the cilantro… otherwise a fantastic meal. The service was very attentive, bathroom clean and check was affordable.. thank you

Friendly staff. Food is sub par. Tomatoes were not ripe, hard to eat and had no flavor. Gravy was grainy and had an odd flavor and the bisquits were heavy. Typically I keep these types of reviews to myself, but it was such a blah experience for my $ 15. Seriously, if you offer tomatoes in place of fried potatoes, please make them ripe, tasty and fresh. The bacon was tasty, but was made a few hours ago and set on a plate. Biscuits and gravy were heavy and grainy. I love this comfort food and it’s very hard to screw up. Disappointed. I will try this place again, but will go for the higher reviewed pancakes and benedict eggs. The wait staff is very friendly and attentive. Never had to wave them down for coffee. Now if the ownership would pay as much attention to quality of product, this place would be a 5 place for sure. There are a lot of people eating here, so it’s possible.

Small old town café charm with very good food but slow to be served. A couple others around us got their meals faster than us, so we’ll be returning to give them another shot. The 3 egg omelete(byo) was really good and a good value. The coffee wasn’t to bad either. Omelete was not overcooked, and or cooked to fast as so many cafes do banging out plates. Happy to have a good breakfast place so close to where we live.
