4.0 Lounge

I liked the atmosphere and that the hooka was gone! The sandwiches are back which is great but the meat isn’t as good as it was before. Three stars hoping it gets back to it’s old glory!

This place is great. I’ve yet to visit 4.0 to lounge in and smoke some hookah but we most recently visited once we heard it had reopened. As a SDSU Alumni, there are very few people who did not embrace 4.0 Deli as their second home and I spent the majority of my 3^rd and 4^th year spending all of my earnings on sandwiches and pitchers of beer.
When we saw news that 4.0 Deli had transitioned into 4.0 lounge we made a quick stop before heading to a Padres game. To my shock, the Bronx Bomber that I had become accustomed to ordering was no longer on the menu. The very kind and gracious told me that since he had worked for 4.0 he’d be able to remake the Bronx Bomber for us. With that news we order two and grabbed some beer. It’s still has friendly and delicious as I remember. The inside of 4.0 is quite a bit different than it was in years past but their quality of sandwiches has not changed. I’m partial to the Bronx Bomber (Chicken Salad, pepperoncini peppers, pesto, lettuce, tomato on a hoagie). That sandwich was the end-​all, be-​all in my mind but I can accurately state that there is nothing bad on the menu. These guys are great and I can’t wait come back and partake in some of their new offerings.

Place is pretty chill. With a pretty large selection of beers at an awesome price. Staff super friendly, and the service is outstanding.
They earned five stars because they packed one of the best bowls of hookah that i’ve ever had, both smooth and longlasting.
Also because they brought back 4.0 DELI sandwiches, and it is better than before. The staff told me they now carry Boars Head, and you can really taste the quality of the sandwiches.
Overall, i’m glad there is a 4.0 Lounge & Deli next to SDSU.

Not a fan of the set up. Definitley a lot darker than 4.0 and it is just a really weird concept to me to have a hookah lounge combined with 4.0 deli. I might just be bitter because I didn’t want 4.0 to leave in the first place and I’m never been a huge fan of hookah. With that being said, I was excited to be able to come in and have the Godfather again, after months of not being able to have it. They seemed to have changed the bread (there was too much of it). Other than that, it was delicious and the same sandwich as I remembered. We also ordered a pitcher between 4 of us and it barely gave us each a small glass so that was a bit of a bummer too. I’m sure I’ll be back for the deli, but as for the hookah aspect I’m a little hesitant.

I have come here a good amount now and very recently (within the past 2 weeks) and I so torn and disappointed with state hookah.
First the positives; I am so glad that they decided to bring back the sandwiches because 4.0 deli was my favorite place to eat around state. Also, they now serve beer which is always a plus and they also have really cool flavor combinations of hookah to choose from for a cheap price. I like coming here because it’s the same owners as 4.0 so I want to support them as much as I can because they are good guys that deserve the business.
The negatives; when I go anywhere I always judge about 90% of my experience based on service. This place has the slowest service I have seen in a while and if it gets even a tiny bit busy I wouldn’t even bother coming. It takes at least 15 minutes to get your hookah and that is just with the instant lite coals, if you get the coconut coals you will be waiting a good 20 – 30 minutes. When I came in last we got 1 hookah with the coco coals and a pitcher of beer. the hookah took the normal 15 minutes and we didn’t even get our beer in that time. There was only 4 other people in the place. Even after we got the hookah a new customer came in and sat at there «bar top» and took a few minutes to order before getting a beer. I had to go up to the counter before the guy realized he had completely forgotten about us and had served multiple people there drinks when we had been waiting over 20 minutes. It took him less than a minute to get us our pitcher at that point which is frustrating because I work in the service industry and that should have been poured right after we ordered considering no one was behind us in line and no one new had arrived yet.
I will continue to visit this place but only a few more times to see if the service improves, but if not I will not come here anymore. State Hookah already has the reputation for having ridiculously slow service so I hope something changes. The only reason it gets 2 stars is because the sandwiches are very good and I recommend them to anyone.

Really friendly staff.
There coal management was the best I have ever witnessed.
I’m talking about about 8 years of going to lounges and these ppl were on point without smothering you.
They serve beer. Bottles and draft at the most reasonable prices possible.
Right next to sdsu so the ppl that attended this lounge are young good looking beautiful ppl.
They have board games and such like cards against humanity they let you use if your so inclined.
Want a good time at a great place to smoke the best packed bowls surrounded by beautiful ppl helped by the nicest staff with access to great beer selection in the clean modern lounge. This is it baby.
State hookah lounge, your money baby.

This place is effing sweet. The atmosphere is super laid back. They serve beer and food and they have good music (and they have tons of TV’s for when you want to watch basketball games) This place is so chill that you can come and study or do work if you wanted. As far as the actual hookah smoking experience this place is hands down the best. The hoses and glass hookahs they use are top notch quality. Will go again.

This place changed it’s a lot bigger since they 1^st open. They remodeled so its more open. the music is on point good place to come n pass the time its my 3^rd time since they remodeled. They have fruit bowls now. So its getting better each time I come in

Came here before the new owners and loved it. Came back the other night under the new ownership and it was great! For just eight dollars and some change I got a nice comfortable seat, hookah, tv and a discreet spot to lounge with a friend. Wonderful service and great place. I’ll definitely be back.

I have been here a few times since they opened up a month ago, they have a cool setup with a bar. They are right next to SDSU. They pack a good bowl and have great customer service. I would definitely recommend checking this place out.

This was my first time going to a hookah lounge. I didn’t know what to expect, however, I was quite impressed. Servic was solid, music and ambience were fitting for the environment, and hookah was smooth. It’s not a big place, but it is somewhere you can go and chill and hang out with your friends. I look forward to coming back.

Great hookah! Owner was really chill and made us feel so welcome, as international students he was able to accommodate to Arabic culture as well as the American culture! Really great place to visit and will definitely come again.
