Prince Hookah Cafe

Formerly known as «Egyptian Tea Room» (which you can see on some of the parking for our customers only signs). Prince is really a great Hookah joint.
A lot of places don’t know how to pack the bowls and the hookah can get ashy and lose flavor or get HOT quickly. Thankfully, you won’t have to endure that here. Your hookah can last a good hour + easy.
A good tip is to do mixtures of flavors — instead of picking one flavor add a mint to it to give it some more pop. Or best yet ask for suggestions from the staff on good combos.
You can’t go wrong with a pot of their tea (multiple flavors) and I think you get a free tea with your first check in ( Unilocal PERK!)
Also they have some food and I’m not ashamed to admit their burger is good… Also some of their other items are tasty too. I don’t always find a joint that can do food + hookah + tea and rate 5 on them. Granted, it’s not GORMET food but you also aren’t paying GORMET prices and you’re there to smoke hookah. I have no idea why my phone is caps on the GORMET.
Seating is outdoors or indoors… Very nice ambiance. Very friendly staff… They may even smoke hookah in the table next to you as well!
I drive about 40 minutes to smoke hookah here even when there are other joints closer. That should be my endorsement on it!

Great place for the whole family, or to spend some quality time with friends. Relaxing environment, and great customer service. They have a food menu to select from, and they serve great tea and coffee. I love this place and will definitely come back.

This was my first time going there (12÷21÷15) and I used the $ 17 groupon. seemed like a good deal to me because I was saving money on hookah, drinks and an appetizer. We got the flavor Skittles, it was dry and did not have any flavor really. It burned out in like 10 minutes so we could barely smoke it anymore without coughing and it tasting bad. The chicken tenders we had were kind of off tasting (wont be getting them again). My chai tea latte was on point though, i’d come back for that and the pita bread!
their happy hour is great for how long the hookah lasts for before getting burnt.
May come back if I am trying to save money or want their pita and chai.

Theirs no clear entrance to this place so I had a hard time entering. When I got inside I noticed it’s different then any other hookah shop as its really bright and everything is so close together. I like my privacy so it was really awkward for me being so close to other people and there wasn’t even that many people inside to begin with. Both the interior and exterior needed some work as it was dirty. The hookah dried up quick so I was very disappointed about that. I tried the tea that was recommended which tasted good but the appliances he used to serve it to me looked old and dirty. 2 stars only because the tea was good and the guy who was working gave me great customer service.

This is by far the best hooka place I’ve ever been to, their selection of teas is huge! The setting is very relaxed the vibe is pretty chill. Every time my friends and I want to go do something relaxing this is the number one place we come to!

I’ve been going here for years, and watched it change owners, and have always been a fan. I like the hookah, plus they have always had great food. My favorite drink here is the mint cucumber lemonade. The service has always been great, forever.

Went there on a Friday evening. Service is great and they take care of the coals quite frequently. The hookah was excellent. Well packed and the taste lasted a while. Definitely will be going back.

Liked this place as Egyptian Tea room but other than exterior/​interior changes the hookah just doesn’t hot as well as I feel it should. For the same price of $ 20 at other lounges I can smoke out of a better hookah… probably won’t return for this reason.

Been here around 5 – 6 times and I like the environment and the staff it’s really friendly compared to other hookah lounges. the hookah it’s good but feel like it dies really quick. still think this is a great place to come and hang out. food it’s also great will be coming here soon.

The hookah, the tea, the baklava — I feel like I’m back in my beloved Istanbul. Great happy hour, amazing service, super cozy patio, dog friendly. We will definitely come back. Best hookah place in San Diego for sure.

The environment is amazing and the food also was so good. Ordered TE philly cheese steak and was very impressed. However the hookah was so bad. It burned in like ten minutes no exaggeration. Kept putting more coals on the head trying to fix it. Wanna give five stars but the hookah was just so bad I can’t. Will come back tho to give another chance.

One of my favorite Hookah lounges. A very relaxing environment during the day and very social and comfortable place at night. Their food is awesome and the hookahs are even better! Nas and Al take care of their customers with top notch service. They make you feel like family especially if you visit often. The place is clean with beautiful colors and nice furniture. Clean bathroom. ATM inside in case you need cash. A great menu with lots of options for food, drinks, coffee and tea. Plenty of hookah flavors to choose from with clean hookahs and hoses, and great coal service. Comfortable indoor and outdoor seating with fast Wi-​Fi. If I could give more stars I would.

This place is a def must. It’s a cozy café/​hookah lounge located on college avenue. The staff was all pretty friendly and the chi tea latte was one for the books! It opens at 3pm on the weekends and offers happy hour! The outside area looked great (fire pit) and the TVs were a hit when the chargers game came on.

Nassir has a fabulous spot here! Love coming in early to hang by myself or later to smoke with friends. Love the atmosphere and everyone who works here is amazing. ALAA is my favorite! Ask him to make you any coffee drink, preferably his chai latte, and you’ll fall in love! Did I mention the couches with pillows everywhere! So sexy and comfortable, yet very chic!

I love this place. So. So. Much. The owner is really nice and friendly. He loves to joke around with everyone and so does his workers. Hookah is a tricky thing to review. Like food, it depends on everyone’s preference, except harder to judge the quality. There are flavors that are better suited for certain weather. I used to hookah at home and pack my own bowls and although most were good, some batches of shisha can be faulty. However, I don’t have any complaints here. I have tried numerous flavors and there are some I don’t like and some I love. Again, not their fault, it’s really up to preference. They’re really nice about letting you smell the shisha before you pick. I’ve never had anyone give me attitude here. I’ve never seen them give attitude to harder-​to-​please customers as well. Pretty good on coals too, they walk around replacing your pebbles with fresh lit coconut coals which is much appreciated since other lounges I went to they usually just leave some quick lights for you and you have to deal with that on your own. They also have no problem providing you with tongs in case you’re the type that likes to have your coals a certain way if they’re not around. They also sell food and tea here! I love the tea and coffee. The food is simple café food. Their gyro is top notch and I like getting their cheese fries and chicken tenders. My friends love their wings. There’s just not much to complain about here! The regulars are pretty nice for the most part. They can get some obnoxious customers here and there but what place doesn’t? I recommend trying this place out! And if you’re hesitant, just come during happy hour which is everyday until 6 pm. Hookahs are the price of refills :) cheers!

I love this place. Best and brightest staff ever. This place is very alive. Hookahs are good and they offer coconut coals every few minutes. The owner works there and he will take care of you no matter what! Food is good too!

If you’re craving tea in a cozy, local mom-​and-​pop setting, you might like this place! Prince Hookah Café is close to SDSU. Although most people were smoking hookah here, I came here for the tea.
They have a pretty good selection of tea flavors that you can get by the cup or pot. I tried the Apple Cinnamon tea, and even the cup was plenty! It was soooo good, comforting and satisfying.
There’s a large outdoor patio with plenty of seating, so it’s a great place to come hang out and catch up with friends.
Amazing service too! Super friendly, sweet and attentive. The girl working here swung by a few times during my visit to check and see how everything was going.

I usually go here when I want a quiet place to hang out. They have an indoor room, outdoor patio and also upstairs. Upstairs is only open when there’s a lot of people at the place so don’t get too excited.
The hookah is okay priced. I feel like it is a bit expensive but the new place looks great so hopefully they make the prices lower once they pay off the bills for the construction.
Brightly lite now, could be a bit more dim. The employees are so nice. I’ve been going there for a while so they know and are always nice to me whenever I do ask a question or ask for something.
