Love, love, love this little find on University in Hillcrest. Stumbled on it while doing the Seven Bridges Walk and needing a pit stop. It was perfect. They have an amazing selection of beers on tap. Mostly San Diego brews, and some really great beers from other places too, like Avery from Boulder, CO, and Left Hand from Longmont, CO. Whoever is doing the selecting/purchasing is doing a phenomenal job. We stopped in for a couple pints on our walk. The bartender was friendly and the food being served all around us looked really good. In addition, you can bring stuff into the bar area from Whole Foods. People were doing this and enjoying the taps, great combo! Every neighborhood could use a unique place like this. If you are in the area and in need of quenching your thirst with a cold craft draft and some tasty food.

I had gone to get my eyebrows done across the street and I tempted my beer loving husband with this pub so he would drive me in the rain. Then I joined him. They have a terrific selection of beer and I sampled an awesome cider. We also ate their happy hour tacos. The beef was not great according to my husband. My veggie tacos was fantastic. Fresh yummy peppers. Made me feel like stopping into the store and pick up more veggies. I would have given them a 5 star review if not for the dry beef. And great price.

I had heard good things about this Whole Foods pub, but my first meal here was a big disappointment. The chicken teriyaki«bowl»(~$ 10) rivals the worst airplane food. The small portion of chicken was dry. The veggies were mushy in the way that only frozen veggies can be. The rice was undercooked with hard pieces throughout. The entire thing was cold, literally cold. I ate the chicken because I was quite hungry but I’m sitting here with a stomach ache wishing I had refused. I also ordered the tuna/avocado sushi roll which was fine. 2 stars overall because the service was pleasant and it seems like a good place to have a beer and some bar food. I like what they are trying to do, but please up the food quality. I’m so tired of sub-par food — Whole Foods can do better.

Nancy was our bartender. She was phenomenal! Brussels Sprouts are on Fleek. I ordered the Peanut Butter Milk Stout, Tia got the Xocoveza by Stone, also delish. Seriously if you’ve never taken the time to come here after your grocery shopping, go. It’s worth it. Fun, good energy and today on a Friday there is a live band!

Good local beer spread! The food always comes up hot and there are a lot of paleo and vegetarian options on the menu. Lots of daily specials as well!

Amazing selections of beers, tried 3 different kinds of pumpkin ale there because it was October. Food was okay, tried the carnitas taco and fish taco. Carnitas was good but the shell was super dry. Not as good as some of the local taco shops but I will give 7th ave another shot because of their taps. You can park at the Whole Foods garage

This place is a great place to have a drink and pub like food without the ambience of a crowded bar. Will come back to experience other flavored beer and foods. There was a distraction of kids screaming and yelling. Plz make it at least and 18 and over place.

I like to come here and pretend that I’m healthy. It’s a bar inside of the Whole Foods! You can get your normal bar fare like nachos, tacos, corn dogs. but HEALTHY aka vegan/whole grains/gluten-free/random other diet. Love their happy hour specials and the flexibility of their menu(vegan corn dogs?! It’s apparently a thing). Only slightly overpriced because, well, Whole Foods.

It’s inside a whole foods. If you don’t like their menu, you can buy food at the grocery store and bring it over. But food isn’t why you come to this pub. Extensive beer menu(no stouts the day I went). Service was great. One of the employees encouraged me to try before I ordered, and told me I can swap out one if I didn’t like it(I got the 44oz flight for $ 5 during happy hour, highly recommend for the adventurous and indecisive) They also have wonderful specials like a pint and Mac n cheese for $ 7 on Monday. There needs to be more grocery stores like this.

I come here because the craft beer options in Bankers Hill and Hillcrest are very limited. This«pub» has 31 beers to choose from and they do a great job of offering a diverse selection. I’ve had mostly good experiences with the bartenders, although it’s pretty inconsistent. Sometimes they want you to order at the bar, other times they want to take you order at your table. Also, some of the bartenders(which I will not name out of respect) chat it up too much with the patrons, consequently slowing down the service for other customers. Keep it flowin!!! Prices are steep, usually a good IPA will cost you $ 7, but it is Whole Foods so I guess that’s not a surprise. The food is awesome, you can bring in anything prepared from the connecting store or you can order from their bar menu. This is a safe bet for a beer and a bite, but not a staple spot.

Never thought such a great time could be had inside a whole foods! This bar has a massive selection on tap with a solid happy hour. Came in here during happy hour on a Sunday and was pleasantly surprised by some live music! Happy consists of dollar off select appetizers and you can build a flight of any six beers for $ 5. I got the buffalo wings and a flight and could not be happier! Wings were solid and tried out some beers I had never heard of. Come in for a pint on happy hour you won’t be disappointed!

This place has a good beer selection… The flight is always a good choice so you can try a bunch of kinds. I also really appreciate how you’re allowed to bring stuff over from Whole Foods in there bc while their food is good, its a little spendy. I went for their all you can eat sushi once and it was very fresh and tasty, would recommend to try.

My wife and I popped in here for a pub style meal last Friday evening around was pretty crowded but we found a table for 2 no problem. The surprise was a young dude playing some decent acoustic guitar and doing some good Jack Johnson wife ordered a turkey burger & fries and I’m always a sucker for flatbread and the flatbread here is excellent. I decided to try the 4×4 oz beer sampler like last time we were here… gee for 5 bucks during HAPPYHOUR you can’t go wrong and they have some neat craft beers available such as Green Flash Le Freak and always some new ones I haven’t tried wife loved her turkey burger and the fries I pinched from her plate were salami & mozzarella flatbread was killer good washed down by my flight of 4 craft beers. The guitar player made it a fun evening and we enjoyed ourselves a lot but it didn’t cost a lot.

Thursday AYCE Sushi!!! Another one of those finds that I hesitate to put out there because it could get overrun and I’ll never get a table! The selection of Nigiri and Rolls consists of about 10 choices: California Roll(with real snow crab), Tempura Roll with Eel Sauce, Spicy Tuna Roll, Spicy Crab Roll and an array of delicious Nigiri Salmon, Albacore, Ahi and Amaebi Shrimp, It’s obvious that the quality is excellent and one of the Sushi Chefs stands at the serving area to describe and help with any questions. Fantastic choice for a Thursday night out. Cost is $ 19 per person.

Ok this review is long over due. Wellp I actually discovered(via a friend and my beer rep– they’re lineup is respected within the f&b industry) the place a few months ago, but it was love at first sight, so I’m surprised it took me so long. 7th Avenue pub has been a warm welcomed addition to my weekly grocery trips. I actually get excited for my IPA before going. I also love this place because it’s a great place for entertaining friends if you don’t feel like having people over to the house. You can go to the store, pick out some cheeses, meats, olives, hummus and other goodies, buy them and then hall them up to the pub. Then enjoy some good company and great beers with your goodies, OR you can also order off their menu! They have some great specials! I’ve had their fish tacos on Taco Tuesday and their pretzels. Both are very good. The fish tacos were so big I thought I was on some hidden camera show. «Am I being punked right now? This is really $ 2?!» Brian and the bar manager(James? Please correct me if I’m wrong, credit is due.) usually are the ones to help me and they are always extremely nice, knowledgable about their menu(which I don’t know how! They have 32 taps that constantly change! I’m a bartender and that’s hard to keep up on.). They whole Whole Foods staff is extremely nice and helpful and the 7th Ave Pub is no exception. Thanks guys!

I walked in after having been through a job interview. I went through the store; it would have been much easier to walk in off the street corner. I sat at the bar and perused the extensive beer list. The bartender mentioned that the Karl Strauss beers were on special, so I ordered one. After studying the menu for a while, I decided on a portabello sandwich. This was Saturday afternoon, and the place was empty except for a couple of other people at the bar who were chatting with the bartender. I surmised from their conversation that they had just gotten off their shift but that they were not Whole Foods employees. The bartender mentioned that his shift was almost over. They asked him what he was going to do, and he said that he was going to go surfing. He then added that he would never hang out here if he wasn’t getting paid. I don’t think that I’ve ever heard a bartender say that before. My food arrived. The sandwich was OK; nothing to get excited about. The fries were pretty tasty. I’m getting hungry just thinking about them. Like other reviewers have written, this place doesn’t really have a pub-like atmosphere. Maybe being there in the afternoon affects my opinion. If I lived nearby, I would maybe check out their happy hour. Too bad it’s impossible to find out information about this place. They do have a Facebook page, but Whole Foods’ website sucks and barely mentions 7th Ave. Pub. Maybe this was a unique situation, but I also felt that«us vs. them» dynamic when I was at the bar. Perhaps I looked too corporate. Oh, for the record, I didn’t get the job.

First timer, came for the Beer 101 lecture. Came thinking it would be fun meeting young hip professionals and found older retired couples and a rotund guy with his hippie buddy who both seemed kind of anti-social. I loved the lecture by Schuyler Shultz and really appreciated him selecting the four tastings. Next time I will definitely be more confident making my own decisions. $ 5 a flight was generous! I hated the light hoppy brew and ended up trading for an extra of the malty Gorden Biersch Imperial St. It was heavenly chocolate and coffee roast combined! The alcohol content was high, making it on the sweet side, which was perfect for me. I also ordered the panko crusted fried artichokes with goat cheese and it took 40 min to come out!!! Not out servers fault IMHO. The kitchen to bar transit time was awful! They have a dumb waiter rigged to pop up food via the deli, so the servers can’t actually go to the kitchen to raise hell about the slow food. As for food quality, the artichokes looked like lovely little diamond crispy wonton and were scrumptious crispy pops of melted cheese and tender artichoke hearts. But the soy ginger sauce was atrocious and entirely unnecessary. I love sauces in general, but this one was a serious buzz-kill. Kind of like adding a pickle to your pint of Guiness– WHAT?! Exactly. Will come back and order a flight of just the KS Imperial please!
