I love Whole Foods in general. There was an awesome one down the road from my house in Watertown, MA this past year and I’m happy to have the Hillcrest store just a short ride from my apartment. I love having a place to buy yummy baked vegan things for my boyfriend, our favorite vegan cheese, etc. 1. Can’t stand to look at some of the prices. I have to mentally prep myself and plan out what I really really need or I’ll spend way too much. 2. Parking at this location kind of sucks. At least in the lower lot. Sharply angled curbs don’t make for prime parking spaces, especially when you have soccer mom and son very slowly loading themselves and their stuff into the van next to you. Heaven forbid you swing out a bit too wide. Aside from that though this location was wonderfully packed full of goodness and I found everything I wanted including pumpkin ale, which I realized is not as big of a thing here in San Diego as it is in Boston. *tear* The general beer selection was pretty awesome though. Help was very friendly too. The cashier asked me how I was, we bantered about different Whole Foods locations, just genuinely friendly. Something I look for in people. I get tired of the old biddies in Kohl’s or Macy’s who have permanently glazed over eyes. Happy to return here though!

Whole paycheck is indeed a great place, but they don’t carry nutella anymore. My friend and I had finished coming from San Ysidro, and were craving CREPES like no other. The only crêpe place we saw was under construction, so we decided to head to WF to make them ourselves. The agent at WF told us that nutella violates some kind of regulations so they don’t carry it anymore. The only other option was a $ 10.00 knock off, and that was way too much! We ended up picking up some killer vanilla ice cream, bananas, and pre made crepes(however, those were 6 bucks). Love that they have parking up stairs, and from what I hear… they may play movies at nite??? Expensive, but still love it!
