If what you are looking for is baseball related it may have it. Goodness gracious the younger guy is absolutely a horrible sales person. Will never go back.

Was looking for Toesox & was told flat out, «NO.» Not, we don’t carry them, we don’t have them, etc… just, «NO.» Terrible service.

Great local sporting goods store with friendly service and reasonable prices. Been in business since 1941. Buy local!

A&B is like no other sports shop in town. Want to know if a mitt fits? Be prepared for an impromptu in-store game of catch with Joe or his son to test it out the RIGHT way — by playing! They know sports(Joe’s been coaching little league in North Park for 50+ years) Check out the UT article on Joe Schloss dated 3÷19÷23 — it’s what prompted me to leave this Unilocal!review today. Last personal story, when my son(then eight) wanted to buy a certain mitt, the salesman asked him why — and my son said«because he liked the colors» to which the salesman replied«Son, if you want to pick a mitt based on its colors, you came to wrong store!» It was awesome, and correct. Then he proceeded to play catch with my son with several mitts, and recommended to cheapest one as the best fit. Honest, knowledgeable, and local! You can’t do any better than A&B. They have soccer and other sports stuff as well as baseball, a little slice of main street USA inn NP, since 1946. Love this place!

Family owned sporting goods stores are about as endangered as the giant pandas, so it’s good to see this place has survived over the years. It’s pretty small and has limited inventory, but their prices are lower on many things than you’ll find at those warehouses. You also get their personalized customer service that the Sports Chalet’s and Dick’s of the world lack. If you’re in North Park stop in for a peak and you’ll likely find a good buy of something you didn’t even know you wanted or needed.

I have been going to A&B ever science they were in there old location. The old man sold me my 1st. 45 record in the early 60s. My Dad went to school with Joe. Joe is a great guy. A&B is a great place!!!

I don’t even live in North Park, but still shop for my kid at A&B. Joe Schloss is a San Diego Little League Legend and I would never consider going anywhere else ! Last time I was in the shop it was a rainy miserable day outside. I went in to buy a baseball bag on my lunch hour and the guys were hanging out with a couple of Chargers players from the good old days. It was the best. We just hung out and chatted it up… It’s all good at A & B… Joe will take good care of you…

How can you not love A&B Sporting Goods? If you live in North Park and you have children who play sports in the hood, it is a crime against all things good to shop elsewhere for baseball sleeves, cleats, socks, hats, and soccer gear. I even purchased my son’ s football here. Could you save a few bucks shopping at a big box sporting goods store? Sure. Is it worth selling out and shopping at a store owned by the man? A&B is owned by a family, with a name, and you will meet them while shopping. It’s a little slice of old timey life.

A-B Sporting Goods is the last of a dying breed of family-owned and operated sporting goods stores. The Schloss family has operated this store for decades, and they continue to run an operation that’s focused on quality products, and top-notch service. You owe it to yourself, and your kids, to visit this shop. It’s a slice of San Diego/North Park history, and a shining example of how small businesses can set themselves apart from the franchise sports shops with outstanding service, and community involvement. Long live A-B Sporting Goods, and God Bless the Schloss family.
