Shopping local feels great but it has its challenges when it comes to store policies. Simply Local worked with me on a purchase I made. They followed up quickly and took care of it all…100%. I look forward to telling friends about the store and going back. If you didn’t know… they have a lot of really cool stuff.

Really good variety of local products. I walked by this location all the time while strolling around North Park… usually looking for a place to eat! ha! Finally went in with a friend the other weekend and spent way way too much time looking at all the cool shirts, soaps, lotions, brewery themed products, etc etc etc! This is a GREAT place to find little gifts for friends, family, coworkers or whoever! I think the Idea is that every product is made my a local crafter. I definitely will be back as I’m sure inventory is always changing and evolving!

SIMPLYWONDERFUL! I really love the local made, all natural body products. Body butters, oils, soaps… all perfect! They have a ton of other eclectic items but the body products own me!

This was a chance find as we were strolling through North Park, trying to walk off all the things we’d consumed that day. I don’t remember what it was that drew me in — merchandise or a smell or something out of the corner of my eye — but I’m glad we stopped! The concept of this store is pretty basic — only items crafted by locals are sold within. The wares vary greatly — they had everything from tchotchkes to clothing to jewelry to home goods to cards inside. I spent way more time than I’d like to admit browsing the shelves. I love the creativity on display in here. It ranges from whimsical to beautiful to fascinating to delicious. I managed to find a cute and spot-on birthday present for my best friend, which I promptly paired with a hand-made card(it was a connect-the-dots front! I mean, come on!) I also picked up a sweet little bracelet for myself, which needed an assist from the cashier, as they had tied everything up to stop things from walking out the front door. I could have easily spent an hour in there, picking things up to examine and ponder, but I had my husband and cousin with me, and was overly conscious of the time. I love that shopping here supports local businesses and local artists/creators. It’s something that I’m becoming much more aware of — supporting local businesses — and I hope to be able to go back again soon.

I love this shop! A ton of fantastic local artisans! It’s a large store that offers a wide variety of handmade goods. This place is a great destination for unique handmade gifts and wares. I think it’s considered the largest assortment of handmade local vendors in San Diego.

This store really bring the whole«Small Business/Buy Local» theme to a new level… Cool small boutique that offers great local items from Jewelry, Local Beer theme items, Soaps, Apparel, Artwork and much more… I came here after stopping at Bottlecraft next door and was pleasantly surprised with the selection and diverse inventory of local good. I ended up buying a T shirt that I really liked but I’m definitely coming back to browse around some more. Honestly I can see myself coming back to purchase some Xmas gifts for the holidays or for a bday. Most of the items here you can buy from the direct sellers online but it’s nice having 1 store that has all the items for you to see and the prices are really reasonable. Everything on this store is well organized per each different vendor so you can easily find any item that you’re looking for. As we all know parking in the area sucks but this place offers so many great items that I wouldn’t mind spending a few minutes searching for one.

Super cute boutique that carries the works of local artists. It contains a plethora of stuff to look at and buy. The goods range from housewares, jewelry, condiments, bar ware, cosmetics. terrariums and airplants. I ended up purchasing two airplant terrariums here for less than $ 15, where it probably would’ve cost me an arm and a leg at a nearby boutique.

Such a fun shop consisting of little boutiques and other goods. You can walk out with anything from cute clothes to spices and food. Such a great addition to North Park!

I come here a lot when I’m in the neighborhood. It’s the perfect place to get some unique gifts for friends, family or yourself. There’s a wide variety of merchandise with something for everyone. The interior is very aesthetically pleasing and the staff is very cute. They’re always so friendly and helpful. I love this store!

Better selection and nicer layout than the one at The Headquarters, but the staff wasn’t as friendly. Someone manager-y seemed to be having a bad day, but the staff member who seemed newer was helpful. Still a wonderful place to go for gifts for yourself or others!

Simply Local is a jam packed shop full of treats, jewelry, soaps, small art, clothing and general indie crafts. You won’t find mass produced gifts with«San Diego» scrawled all across it as the only unique thing about it. But as gift shops go, there’s certainly something here for everyone, in a locavore sort of way, a great place to get a meaningful gift as a local or a tourist. The store is lovely, the staff always sends a warm hello when you walk in the door, but they don’t hang over you or offer much unsolicited advice. All of which is wonderful for me and my proximity to the shop. I’m trying to go every few days as their stock does rotate. The prices seem to be good for the products, and not super inflated because they have to pay the rent. That might be because there are so many vendors here, which is great for us all. It’s like going to a craft fair with none of the guilt for not buying everything. You know. Definitely will be back. This is a welcome addition to the neighborhood.

I love. This. Store. We accidentally wandered in on Black Friday and I bought some amazing little gifts. Mostly for myself, but that’s the magic of Christmas! I liked the store so much we came back the next day to support them on Small Business Saturday. I bought more stuff. Then we came back AGAIN the following weekend so I could buy more stuff and so my mom, who was in town for a visit, could also buy stuff. So we, like, bought stuff. There is an amazing variety in here. From Krampus stockings and other assorted demonry to cute purses that give a portion of their profit to help stop human trafficking. If you can’t find something for someone in here, you’re not looking hard enough. I lurve this store and it’s now on my permanent shopping rotation.

What a horrible way to inspire locals to shop here. I was in the area, looking to spend a pretty decent sum of cash for three birthday presents. This store, new to the area, seemed like the perfect choice; candles, soaps, chocolates, art, clothing. Most of which locally made. But when I entered, the two sales gals behind the counter literally looked at me, then each other, and began talking amongst themselves. They weren’t busy! Only one other customer was in there. I finally called out, «hi!» and of the gals replied, «hey.» While purusing and finding several potential gifts for my friends, not once did either sales person ask if I needed help. The other lone customer, though, got very friendly banter from both. After about 15 minutes and still not any acknowledgement, I gave up. And walked out. Reluctantly because I could have easily purchased gifts there. I have worked in customer service before and understand how important it is to show friendliness to all customers. Regardless of race, creed, sex, age, or appearance. Perhaps I did not look cool enough for this shop. As a North Park resident, I say Skip this place unless you want to be shunned.

This the second location for Simply Local and it was a great idea to open in the heart of North Park. On University Avenue at 30th Street, you’ll find about 50 local vendors selling their wares. This is a good place to buy holiday presents, or just something for yourself. Case in point, I walked out with a small jar of cinnamon honey and plans for a meat and cheese board in the future. There are other options besides food, like personal care items(think shea butter), several companies selling clothes, jewelry, housewares and gifts. Stop by and buy local.

This is the new location of Simply Local. It’s a one-stop shop for finding various items from local artisans and vendors. You can find everything from hand-made jewelry to hand-sewn clothing to locally-made food. it has a cool rustic décor and lots of great items to choose from! I plan on buying most, if not all, of my Christmas gifts here because I’d rather support local artisans than buy cheap mass-produced crap from large impersonal corporations.
