ABC Liquor Store

I just flew in from the East coast and had to take a quick stop at ABC! I hit up another spot near pt loma through Unilocal then saw that ABC was on Unilocal.
Tony and Steve get 5 stars from me! They are OB staples and I had all I needed but came to the usual spot to say hi. I was bored and needed to walk then ended up getting more beer since I was here anyway. It’s a liquor store not a grocery store so just know that. If you need organic potatoes and fair trade coffee you might have to wait til morning. But
I come here mostly for beer or if it’s late and i forget something from the grocery store. It’s your typical liquor spot but like Cheers they know you’re name here which is always straight with me. Liquor stores are a dime a dozen so go here if you’re friendly and you’ll get that same treatment. If you’re an OB resident and haven’t stopped in to get to know Tony and Steve do so this weekend and pick up a beer for me.

Love this place! They always have the weird flavors of stuff that I like, like diet cherry pepsi and tropical skittles. Plus one time my car wouldnt start and I didn’t have my phone, and the owner let me call AAA from the phone in the store. Isn’t that nice? Really good ppl here!

This is the closest corner store, so it gets points for being a hopskipjump away, but also because the dudes behind the counter are super friendly. It doesn’t have everything, but if you run out of milk or eggs or hamburger buns or somesuch it has you covered. The beer and wine selection is decent, and while occasionally a little overpriced, it’s by no more than a dollar or two. The surcharge on credit cards is for less than 20 $, so the moral of the story is to buy two six-​packs instead of just one :) I’ll keep going back mostly because it’s close, but it’s not begrudgingly.

ABC is the best corner shop around. I live on Voltaire and I go there so many times a week. It is a clean family owned liquor store. The guys that work there are so nice and anytime I need something they are there. Eggs, bread, cat food, ice cream wine random stuff like safety pins, trash bags laundry detergent ect. I walk across the street and it’s there. The owner takes pride in the cleanliness of the store and it is family friendly. I completely support ABC xoxoxo

Went in there to support a local business and it was way overpriced. I still went ahead and made a purchase but then was charged an additional $ 1 for using my card. Outrageous, will not come back. Guy working was nice though. Olive Tree or OB Quick is my spot.

ABC Liquor is my favorite corner store in OB, I love Tony and the rest of the crew! They are all friendly and I get a big smile every time I go in, I’m really glad they’re so close by :)
