Excellent lounge experience. As a frequent business and first class traveller, I visit many lounges during my lay overs. This particular lounge, far supersedes the other ones. Warm reception, quiet ambiance and good selection of light foods and drinks. Thanks to all the freindly staff.

The airspace Lounge located at San Diego International Airport just around the corner from gate 33. I believe it is open to anybody that wants to pay a $ 35 entry fee or free entry with an American Airlines Admirals Club membership or American Express Platinum Card. I entered using my American Express Platinum Card and was given a cash card worth $ 10 to purchase food or alcoholic beverages. At the self serve complimentary station, there were oranges, apples, cookies and the usual snack mix. It was also a self-serve soda fountain gun and coffee /espresso machine. The bar served hot and cold foods such as yogurt and fruits, croissant breakfast sandwiches, soup, and my favorite the antipasto platter. The antipasto platter head two kinds of meats, cheese, bread, and marinated beans. It was an $ 8 item but free with the cash card. The lounge also has a shower and provides a very nice amenity kit. It’s a great Lounge to use before your departure or as an arrivals Lounge.

Who would say«free food and alcohol» wasn’t five star? When you fly first class(or pay a small fee to enter the first class lounge) and you get delicious food, and free alcohol, it’s a win win for everyone! Definitely better than sitting at the gate waiting for your flight!

Reviewing the Airspace Lounge in San Diego Lindbergh Field Airport? Why bother, ’cause it’s the only game in town if you’re flying up front on American or British. And there’s only one British flight outta town(BA272 to LHR). Well, I’ll tell you«why bother»…it’s because of Dave. Read some of the other reviews for this place. Dave’s name pops up a lot. Why do you think that is? Dave is awesome. Put your trust in Dave — he’ll fix you up. We had two of the«bomb pop shots», they’re great. He called them self-chasing shots because you get the hit of grenadine at the end of the liquor. Pretty good. But ask Dave for his«ABC». Amaretto, Bailey’s and Cognac. This drink is amazing. It might sound revolting, but it’s damn good. And makes your flight that much better. Food? The charcuterie plate and cheese plate are both great. Hey, that rhymes! A little pinot noir with those, followed up with Dave’s concoctions — and you’re ready to board that big flying silver cigar tube with wings. Other amenities include showers, plugs and USB charging stations everywhere, clean restrooms, and did I mention that it’s the only lounge in SD if you’re flying on American or British? Your decision has been made for you. $ 25 to get in(with $ 10 food credit) if you’re slumming in coach but want to experience the lounge. AmEx platinum also gets you in, and I think Priority Pass does too(but don’t take my word for it). Did I mention Dave is awesome?

This particular lounge is long overdue and is not a bad spot to hang out, grab a drink and a couple of snacks before a long flight. This place essentially honors British Airways and American premium passengers and servers as the admirals club in San Diego. The snack selection is fairly limited, bartenders are decent and the amenities are not up to par with typical lounges, but is much better than San Diego has historically had. Overall, not the best lounge but not terrible either. Pros– Location– terminal 2 Seating Wifi Lots of plugs etc Cons– Limited snacks Average bartenders Small

Description: This was a dedicated American Airlines Admirals Club Lounge that has just undergone a major renovation. It now services not only American Airlines, but it includes Japan Airlines and British Airways. You also can gain access with your American Express Platinum, and of course, the black card. It is a lounge well designed for comfort and a break from the airport commotion. You will walk thru the doors and there are two check-in desks. One for the airlines check-in and one for American Express card holders. Anyone can also access the lounge by paying a modest fee(compared to other lounges) of $ 25.00. They offer complimentary showers(I can’t review this as I didn’t use them), Location: The lounge is located in Terminal 2, to the left immediately after you pass thru TSA security. You almost need to do a U-turn when leaving security. You will see a hall that feels like you are exiting from the airport. There is a small sign that will direct you. Décor: The décor is muted grays and modern clean lines. This lounge offers comfortable seating and plenty of outlets for recharging electronics. The lighting is bright because of the large windows and light interior, not as conducive if you need to take a nap Menu: The food options are pleasing and since we fly out of San Diego frequently, we have had the opportunity to try a few options. For American Express card holders, you will receive a $ 10.00 per credit per person. We used ours for a good breakfast egg croissant. The complimentary selections are similar to most American Airline lounges and are a little sparse. However, a special kudos to the tea selections as they were excellent. It is also nice to have the soda’s available for easy access. Wine: There are the typical lounge selections. However, the bartenders here are a kick and always are willing to mix up something special. Service: The service has always been top notch. David has helped us several times and he truly is a gem. Everyone we have encountered here has been wonderful. Final Thoughts: For those of us who look forward to relaxing and recharging before a flight, this is a wonderful place to do that.

The staff is great. The mood is casual but professional. Great place to hang out and wait for your plane. Dave Kikta is one of the best bartenders I’ve ever seen. Knowledgeable, proactive, and a heart of a servant. Ask him to make the Cherries to the Sky shot. Delicious!

This was a great place to stop into after a long day of traveling! It was clean, quiet, and perfect to stop in to kill some time before my ride arrived to pick me up. Given the long day, I was looking to relax and enjoy a drink at the bar. Dave, the bartender, was fantastic! Not only was he very polite and greeted us with a smile, but he made some outstanding cocktails that were A++! I was going to stick to my usual glass of wine, but was very impressed with his cocktail creations and knowledge. He even made one(not off the menu) that he thought reflected my personality and hit the nail on the head! I’ll definitely be back next time I’m at the San Diego airport, and I’ll definitely be asking for Dave to make another fabulous cocktail!

We stopped in here before our flight to Chicago it was a great space. Dave and Matt were both great bartenders. Dave made us some special drinks to try some new concoctions he had been working on and they were excellent. Would definitely even recommend this lounge for the $ 25 a day if you have a long time to wait before your flight.

The Airspace Lounge, although a little tricky to locate, has a lot going for it. Overall, it is a good experience, and can be accessed via several different memberships, like American Express, American Airlines, and others, as well as purchasing access. There are lots of places to plug in, and lots of small tables suitable for individual travelers. The wifi is complementary, although it will slow down now and then. There are several TVs around, usually running sports or flight statuses. The food situation is a mixed bag. If you are wanting a decent meal, go elsewhere. There are complementary snacks, which will do in a pinch, but certainly nothing to the level of the AMEX Centurion lounge. There are apples, oranges, cookies, and snack mixes, nothing gourmet. There is also a complementary fountain with a selection of sodas. There is some gourmet food available for purchase, along with premium drinks, from the bar. When you come in, you are given a $ 10 credit which will basically get you a single drink or selection from their food menu. Their food menu is extremely limited, and tends towards fancy meats and cheeses. If you are purchasing drinks from the bar, either with your complementary $ 10 credit or with a credit card(cash is not accepted), the bartenders really make an effort at making you feel welcome and appreciated, and are a highlight of the lounge.

So this used to be the American Airlines lounge I believe. I hadn’t been to it when it was that but I did go the Airspace when they temporarily were stationed in the Delta or United lounge. I personally love airport lounges. They offer a peace and quiet you don’t often get in the airport because of people rushing around. I believe you can buy into a membership here like most airline lounges or if you have certain credit cards, you get in for free. One huge perk with this lounge is that you don’t have to fly a certain airline to go in. While I like other airline lounges, even with a membership, you are only supposed to be allowed in when you are actually flying their airline. So on to this one. We got in because it is a perk of our credit card. We were greeted with smile and each of us were given a $ 15 credit to use towards food and drinks there. You do get the house wines, liquor, and beer for free, along with, coffee, tea, soda, etc. They do have some small snacks like pretzels as well. But it was early and I wanted something more substantial to eat. I used my credit for a European breakfast. Note, they do offer food unlike a lot of lounges but it isn’t extravagant because they don’t have a full grill, etc. So with my Euro breakfast, I received a fresh, warm roll, some european cuts of meat and some cheese. It was plenty for my breakfast and it was fresh. I really liked it and they were quick to get it out to me. Also, the lounge is full of windows and looks open and clean. I liked that as well. I plan on going to the airport just a little earlier than usual so I can stop in here again!

Overall 3.5 stars I love traveling, but hate getting there. SAN makes it less painless. Compared to LAX, DFW, MIA… this is hands down the best airport. Clean, not all frantic and pretty painless to get in & out of, no sky trains necessary. Located within SAN is the Airspace Lounge. Basic airport lounge. Has some snacks, teas, coffees, a bar area. Free Wi-FI.(I liked the Admirals Lounge at MIA airport better though). To save $$$: I never park at SAN long term. I use SDAP(see my review for prices and how we saved even more money :), for a fraction of the cost. To save money on your travel adventures… TIP: for layovers whenever we travel we use airbnb, saved $$$ from traditional hotel. You get $ 25 off your first stay if you have a referral coupon code from an existing AirBnb customer. I have a referral coupon code, but Unilocalers can’t publish it on their reviews, so lemme know if you want my coupon code… I’d hate to have anyone pay full price! lol TIP: use Über to get to/from airport(or wherever), first ride free. On our last vaca, hubby & I signed up and each got a free ride, so free ride airport to hotel(airbnb condo) and free ride from hotel to cruise port saving $$$ from shuttle transfer or taxis. Conservatively, we saved over $ 200 on lodging/transportation costs. You get a free ride with a referral code… but can’t publish it, lemme know if you want it.

Hands down the WORST lounge in the nation! No coffee, snacks include a vat of Chex mix, apples covered in Saran Wrap oranges that are green and 6 oz bottles of water. Very limited food menu(see pic). The staff is friendly enough. This is typical for San Diego airport though. God bless em they try, I think…

This is the«new» Admirals Club, since American let Airspace run it now the space has been transformed from a classic dark lounge to a light and airy lounge. The new space is modern, with large windows overlooking the tarmac, and it is open layout, so tons of natural light everywhere. They have actual food here in the form of meat and cheese plates, and the usual Admirals Club snacks of pretzels and apples. The soda fountain is out in the open now so you can drink up at your leisure.

This is a great lounge, once you can actually find it. After going through security in Terminal 2, turn left immediately and it will be down the corridor on your right. The signage is a bit poor but you should be able to find it easily enough. Entry to the lounge is free with AmEx Platinum, or there are various other airline programs that allow access. I didn’t get the $ 10 per person food and drink credits others mentioned, so YMMV on that one. The lounge is bright, spacious and clean with plenty of seating(all with plug sockets). There is a large TV and plenty of newspapers to read while you pass the time. There is a self-serve drink and snack bar, and a full-service bar also. Beer and wine is complimentary, and there are premium drinks and food available to order also. My only complaint is the slow WiFi — it was almost impossible to stream a YouTube video or download apps to my phone. Other reviewers have mentioned this, and for a lounge this should really be top of the priority list. Overall, four stars with the above being my only complaint.

Love the new Airspace Lounge — free to Admirals Club members, AmEx Platinum, American 1st class, and I believe, open to anyone for $ 25/day. It’s not the biggest or fanciest, but makes up for that with some of the friendliest, most helpful folks around. The remodel of the American lounge is a huge improvement. Now you’ve got a big room with floor-to-ceiling windows and light, a classy bar, ample seating w/tons of outlets to charge your devices — and, my favorite, an espresso machine that makes a pretty mean cappuccino or latte at the touch of a button. Snacks are pretty limited — some chex mix, oranges and apples, and muffins, at least in the morning. But you also get complimentary house wine, beer and wells. And nice menu of food to order, mostly under $ 10. Nice way to start a day of travel!

This is a great new lounge! I thought with the loss of AMEX platinum AA lounges privilege, that all was lost… But AMEX Platinum gets you in here free. Very happy about this! Located in Terminal 2 of SD Airport New lounge $ 10 food credit per person Free snacks and non-alcoholic drinks TV Great view of Tarmac Free wifi Comfortable seating Friendly service… What else do you need? It’s all here… yay!

Should you pay to use this lounge? Heck yeah and here’s why: 1) Part of your entry includes a credit for food and drink. 2) Free coffee, soda, and tea 3) Free snacks 4) Never a wait at the bar 5) Plenty of seats 6) There are outlets everywhere so you won’t have to fight to charge your electronics 7) It’s quiet so you can relax or work 8) TVs, newspapers, and magazines 9) Clean bathrooms 10) Access to great American Airlines staff(if your flight’s delayed, or having any other issues, the AAngels can help you faster than someone at the gate) But you can enter for free if you have either an American Express Platinum card or an American Airlines Admirals Club membership. This is the revamped American Airlines Admirals Club. After clearing security, turn left and walk towards baggage claim and the entrance will be on your right. Would love for them to add showers. Supposedly it’s planned but hasn’t happened yet.

The new Airspace Lounge at the San Diego Airport, a joint venture between American Airlines and Airspace, is a comfortable place to hang out while waiting for flights. I recently used my US Airways ticket to get free admission, even though US Airways isn’t actually American Airlines just yet. So this was a bit of a ‘work-around”, because technically, US Airways(if it wasn’t being absorbed by AA) shouldn’t have gotten me into the lounge. It was nearly empty on the day, probably because I was catching a mid-morning flight to Phoenix. I suspect that its a lot busier first thing in the morning and also in the early evening, around 4:00. The lounge feels a bit sterile for me. One easy fix would be to install lower lights and warm up the place with a fresh paint job using warmer colors. But I can’t really complain, what with the free snacks, coffee, tea, etc. It is better than the old AA Admiral’s club, for sure. Of course, there is a full bar and you can order food(a little pricey) at the bar, which is convenient.
