Awesome place with great service and décor. Serves excellent drinks and food too. Can’t say enough about how awesome this place is, including their great variety of hookah. If you enjoy hookah, come here!

Had an AWESOME curry here yesterday. The best I’ve had in San Diego. Also, love the new vibe and great new owner.

Great food recommend ordering before you arrive at lunch. Chicken shwarma was awesome and some of the best falafel I’ve had since living in Chicago. Will definitely go back for the curry bowl and gyro.

I was ready to be a regular here. Went a couple times and had a wonderful time and good service. But then we drove 30 minutes on Friday night at 7pm and they were closed. No big deal it happens. I showed up several times when their website said they were open but they were not. I was a little irritated but what set me off was that there were 4 or 5 people sitting inside smoking hookah with all the lights off and the door locked. I called to see what was going on and see someone get up and answer the phone and tell me they were closed at that time. A bar and hookah place that is not open on Friday nights doesn’t make any sense. I will take my money somewhere else from now on. I really liked AJ’s Cave to begin with but they lost what would have been a repeat customer.

It is not AJ cave, it’s called Ali Baba’s cave. The food wasn’t too bad, but it was misleading thinking we were going to a cave bar, it’s Mediterranean food. Not your typical «dive bar» no where near the water.

This place is a great chill spot to enjoy hookah. Sunny is a great personality and a great person to personalize your hookah experience. Of you’re looking for designer hookah with melons on top, this might not be your place, but if your looking for a great place to chill and have a great time, this is your spot, especially if you live in Mira mesa.

Love AJ’s!!! My friends recently discovered this awesome place that is so conveniently close to our office. We love coming here and enjoying the awesome food Raul cooks up. Laurie and Sonny are so much fun and incredibly friendly. Great place for happy hour and waiting out the traffic jams that clog up Sorrento Valley. Prices are great! Atmosphere is fun! Food is yummy! Drinks are d’lish!

I used to go there when it was Ali Baba’s Cave. The food is the same and was good (reason for the 2 stars). When I went there I was surprised the owner changed. It seems more like a dive bar now. We had to ask for the hookah menu, it didn’t seem like Hookas were their priorities anymore. We order some food to a drunk guy (who wasn’t working there), he brought us the food and give us more, I guess good thing he was drunk. It just didn’t seem professional. So sad, as it used to be a good place.

I LOVE this little gem! Can’t believe it took me so long to find it! (Considering I work a mile away.) the cook is awesome! Had some chicken strips that felt pretty gourmet for chicken strips & their salads are always fresh! Laurie is my new favorite bartender! They really do make you feel at home… & did I mention their prices aren’t bad & of course they have happy hour!

I love me a good dive bar and this is the perfect spot to wait out the wretched post-​work traffic. I’ve been coming here since before the revamp on the show, On the Rocks. I enjoyed the previous bar girls, Kristy and Stacie, but I love the new bartenders. They’re so friendly and make the effort to get to know you by name. Typical bar fare– I’d stick with the chips n cheese or carne asada fries. Reasonably priced food and drinks :)

This place served as a time killer for me one early afternoon. I ended up loving it. The staff is friendly and the drinks are cheap. They have a surprisingly good scotch selection.

Great Middle Eastern food! Was Alibaba’s Cave before; food is still good! Beer is great. Go for happy hour until 7pm!

Very close to the train. The food and drinks are yummy. The prices are very fair & the staff is very friendly too. Be sure to try the pickleback. :-)

I liked the place and it is very close to my work. Compare to other places price is very good and they have very friendly staff and I enjoyed the Kabab for lunch.

I like the very nice lady at the register. She knows what you want and will get you settled. I loved this place, and ordered the same item every time. But today I guess the chef decided to change the recipe of the fish and chips. He poured buffalo wing sauce all over it. I don’t understand the logic behind putting a spicy sauce meant for chicken wings all over an atlantic cod fish. I hated it and ate around the sauce. In the end I only ate ¹⁄₃ of my $ 9 meal and still experienced a horrible stomachache. It’ll be a while before i come back again… Trust issues forever now.
