Love going here with the wife, it’s much more our sort of vibe. Not as yuppie as other places. Drink specials are good but run random times so ask before your next refill. Not terribly crowded either which is super nice. The down stairs is cozy and a little dark. Did not like the bathroom attendant. I don’t like them in general but this guy was practically putting paper towels in my hand while i was still washing them in the sink. Then he acted like he got pissed when I didn’t tip him. This is the only thing I really didn’t like about this place. I tolerate bathroom attendants but it felt almost like he was going to stand next to me and offer to hold it while i peed.

Nicole at the front was mean to my friends and me. They all seemed desperate for business so my pretty friends and myself decide sure, fine. And she yelled at us for«cutting» even though the people we supposedly«cut» loved us and insisted we go in first. She was extremely rude and unprofessional. Come here if you want to literally be yelled at by a hostess. :)

Friday may 10th No menu, had to ask the bartender how much each item cost. Bathroom guy yelled at me for not flushing the urinal, yelled a lot of stuff in Spanish. Chased me out of the bathroom until I have him the bird. Unbelievable

I had my skateboard… Been to this bar million times after called Kalarney’s. And they would not let me go in for a drink. Honestly if they place was not a 24⁄7 club they’d be shut down in a week… SHITISWEAKKK

IFYOUDON’T HAVETIMETOWASTE, DONOTGOHERE. Terrible, terrible club. The bouncer took my friends ID, which was real and from Missouri, and she refused to leave without it. We had to call and talk with the police to get it all figured out. It took the bouncer FIFTEEN minutes to return the ID. MANAGEMENT: Please address this bouncer immediately. I asked for the manager several times and he claimed to be the manager himself. I don’t have his name. He has a red beard, brown Mohawk, and glasses. I will continue to inform my friends and colleagues of the despicable practices of this establishment. The harassment and attempted larceny that took place is completely unacceptable.

My all time favorite place to party downtown. Everyone is extremely nice. The drinks are reasonable and strong. DJ and live band are so good. So nice to finally have a legit fun, chill club to go to downtown. As a former NYer who transplanted here a while back I can’t tell you how happy I am that there’s a place like atomic in my hood. Downtown was becoming incredibly boring and pretentious. Downtown got its swag back, thank you atomic and the incredible management that makes this place top notch!

WOW!!! Who is paying these guys to post about this place??? I travel to San Diego for work at least twice a month, and I try to hit up the local spots! Several times I hear of Almost Famous Karaōke, and each time I am disappointed!!! Tonight I came across the same young lady from my previous visit, who was more enamored with her friends, than the patrons of the bar. I saw several people attempt to put a song in, but were over passed for her friends! Same as last time! I guess I should just find a bar and drink, without the karaōke! Really, is she a friend you owe?!

As a native San Diegan and an experienced partier, Atomic is my go to spot when it comes to hitting up downtown. First off, the tacos there are the best in San Diego. It’s a bold statement but when that homemade tortilla and the carne asada melt in your mouth, your taste buds will be engulfed in a symphony of bliss. After your first bite you will understand why I can boldly say that Michos at Atomic has the best tacos in SD. The security there is on point and I tip my hat to them for screening people at the front door. I don’t know about you, but I can’t stand being surrounded by sloppy drunk people when I’m trying to have a good time. When security gives a little effort in screening someone for over intoxication when they check ids, it goes a long way. The staff is upbeat, and know how to make a person feel welcome. Hip hop and EDM is what you’ll hear upstairs and down stairs on the weekend. But, on Tues from local DJS and A Tribe Out West. So much fun on Taco Tuesday! Make sure and say hi to Rojo and Soto(Mohawk), they both have red hair and beards. They’re funny as heck and always have jokes and one liners up their sleeves.

This place is a gem. You’d never expect the quality tacos they have here. Homemade tortillas are amazing. The best nights are Tuesdays for FUTUREJACK, local DJ’s that always get the place poppin’. Perfect place for a taco Tuesday after party!

The food is soooooo good! Walked in and dodnt expect anything to taste good, the décor makes it look like more of just a bar rather than an actual good place to eat. The service was great and the food once again was awesome! I ordered the new york taco and shrimp taco, everything is homemade im told… anyway to sum it up i would definetly recommed

ATomic is definitely a good time! They have great music! Lots of hip hop and booty bumping music! One the night that we went there was no cover. Right when you walk in there is a dance floor and bar to the right. All the drinks were SUPER cheap! Only $ 5 for any drink! Which is really cheap considering that we were downtown and that it was a weekend! We found out that there was a downstairs level with its own separate bar. The bartender was super nice. He was really quick making our drinks and also smiling! There was also a dance floor on the bottom level with a pole in the middle if you’re into that stuff. Hahah. The music consistently stayed good through out the night! Also another plus was that the bathrooms were pretty clean. I would definitely recommend this place! If it’s you’re first time in downtown or you’re from out of town then I recommend coming here to get gold priced drinks!

Fantastic TT spot! Spent Taco Tuesday here last night, the tacos are fantastic. I got the fish and minch tacos and they were perfection. Loved the corn and flour. Highly recommended tacos. The music was AWESOME of course to all the deep house talent that comes through with the DJs that switch off. Everyone here is passionate and love what they do. Came in at 9pm to meet a girlfriend and stayed until 2am on a Tuesday! Super fun. We had margaritas and coronas all night. Great vibes and experience for the first time.

There may be a cover charge for Atomic on weekend nights but we were lucky to get called in by the promoter as we we’re walking by so no cover! ANDSOGLADWECAME, not too crowded and we all loved the music! They DJ even played a song I requested at the end! There may be multiple floors but we stayed on the first floor the entire time since there was plenty of space to dance

Great 80’s live coverage band but wasn’t too sure about the DJ when we went there on Saturday night. Just when everyone is up on their feet for great music, the DJ just changes the momentum. He needs to be more observant and look at the flow or check out his audience behavior before he changes the beat.

Tired of listening to the same pop and edm hits at all the touristy spots? Are you white, but the hood loves you? Did you post one of those«Straight Outta _____» pictures on your Instagram lately? If any of these apply to you, this is your spot. This place is very compact, but straight to the point. The dj’s are constantly dropping hip-hop hits and keep the crowd vibing. It’s a two level establishment(three of you count the table service balcony thing overlooking the main floor) that has equally good music and bar service on both floors. Keep in mind I said this place is compact; it’s not your typical Hollywood club and it’s not trying to be either. The first floor has the main dj’s right in front of you and the bar to the right. The second(bottom) floor has a second bar, stripper pole, and bathrooms. The lower level is a bit calmer and not as loud and it allows for you to take a breather since it has benches on the sides. Hit up your boys, head over to Atomic, say what’s up to Soto and Matthew, and enjoy your night.

I went here for a friends birthday party. They got bottle service and you get to sit in the birthday box. The birthday box is laughable but it was still cool to have a place to sit and people watch. We got 2 bottles of vodka that was not grey goose! It was svedka. No complaints though everything was discounted due to knowing the promoter. Drinks weren’t too bad, I remember getting two Jameson w/Ginger ale for $ 12. The music they play is alright, mainly hip-hop. Not really my taste since I’m more into EDM. The place itself has lots of places to sit down at if you get tired of dancing. There’s also a downstairs basement area also where the bathrooms are located. It might be a little difficult walking down the stairs while drunk or wearing heels.

A group of friends & I came downtown & came to this club because a representative was giving out free entrance wrist band for here. When you enter the club, there is a main dance floor with seating on the sides. Very small & extremely hot. You can only feel the AC when you are in the back. There is a downstairs with another DJ. I did not like how the bathrooms were downstairs because especially for a girl wearing heels, you have to keep going up & down stairs(not fun at all!) The music was great & they play today’s hip hop. I am not sure how the drink prices are but my boyfriend ordered me a Jack & Coke & unfortunately, it was more Coke than Jack. There is an outside area to escape the hotness of the club.

Just had a two taco combo plate and it was perfect. Too many places serve way too much food but this was just right. Two tacos plus chips beans and salsa for a good price. I had two different chicken tacos both on corn tortillas and I would definitely get both again. At least after trying some of the other tacos because I imagine that they would be great too.

I don’t write anything less than three star reviews and while this one is for karaōke only, it’s a worthy 2 stars. For a wednesday night this place was dead. No worries. I don’t mind an empty bar especially in gaslamp. But on a Wednesday during comic con?! Should have been a red flag. When we found out this place was hosting a karaōke night we rushed back over from tipsy crow to join in on the shenanigans. And we left wishing we hadn’t. The hostess(KJ) looked like she hated her job. And the poor rating is because of their TERRIBLE music selection. I’m serious. Here are my requests as follows which she informed me they had none of: 1. Thrift Shop — Macklemore(a little tougher okay) 2. Hate Myself for Loving You — Joan Jett(WHAT?!) 3. Anything by Joan Jett? Nada. 4. Anything by Sublime. Who’s that? 5. Hot in Here — Nelly. Nope. Sorry. 6. Missy Elliott, Ludacris? Any hip hop that’s do able? Ask 100% of the karaōke hosts in San Diego if they have these songs and they’re bound to have at LEAST one. And I’m not saying that to be a jerk. I’m saying that because I ran karaōke shows for three years. Perhaps she was spelling everything wrong but holy moly. I couldn’t believe it. Two stars for the awesome TVs throughout the bar. No cover. Quick entry and cheap drinks. But that’s about it Atomic. Update your karaōke selection, get a new host, or get rid of karaōke altogether. I think it’s hurting your business more than it’s helping and that’s the last thing you want to do downtown!

This is a very small establishment, but I give them props because they have some pretty awesome music here. The DJs here play music that is definitely danceable. They have good lighting and even a gogo dancer in a cage on top right of the stage. Only downfall is that drinks here are not cheap like a bar should be. It’s more of club prices. I also found out that they have a downstairs bar /lounge as well, but wasn’t as poppin as it was upstairs, Do expect the floors to be extremely sticky by the end of the night! P. S. No cover charges!

Idk anyone could give this place less than 5 stars! I went there on taco Tuesday, and the food was unreal. I’m from Louisiana, but have lived in Houston the last few years. I’d put Atomic’s(micho’s) tacos up against anyone’s. The flour tortillas were on point, and the corn tortillas(just like the flour) are made fresh right in the kitchen. On top of the incredible food, the 2 people working while I was there were top-notch. The manager was as cool as they come. He could tell I wasn’t from around the area, so he shot the breeze with me for a few minutes and was real down to earth. The woman bar tending was the hardest worker I’ve ever seen behind the bar. She was courteous, professional, and a head turner. This place is a must while in the San Diego area!

Came here last Friday night with my friend and we had a great time. Got in with no cover and free drink cards, and noticed the main level techno room was pretty empty. We went down stairs to the hip hop room(complete with stripper pole), but didn’t stay too long because the downstairs area was HOT. Not sure if there’s A/C down there, but I was sweating within 20 minutes! My friend and I went back to our hotel, changed into less clothing(we were in jeans before), and went back to Atomic for another hour of dancing. The hip hop room was totally packed by the time we got back, and the main level techno room was still empty. After 3 failed attempts at finding a club that played hip hop music, we were so stoked to find Atomic! I just wish the hip hop room was 1) bigger and 2) had some air blowing down there.

TJ is the best bartender ever. She’s super funny and has a really cool accent and speaks like 4 languages: English, Portuguese, not sure what the other ones are but I’ll ask her next time I see her. This place used to be the stage, but recently renovated and updated a bit. Taco Tuesday is sooo good too. Great value on drinks and food. A great spot to stop at for a drink or to stay for awhile and dance.

Good solid retro-80s bomb shelter-style bar, used to be the Stage. There are lots of hidden nooks and crannies to this seemingly small establishment, which actually has 4 floors and a hidden stripper pole. Good service, cheap booze, but there are some definite drawbacks here– One is the lack of good door security. I watched, incredulously, as one under-21 after another slipped by the single bouncer as he socialized. There’s no cover here, so it’s a beeline inside. I counted at least 25+ SDSU/USD types WELL under 21, and acting the part as well. Admittedly, V-Day is the second biggest Amateur Night of the year, so it’s to be expected, but when girls pull money out of a wallet that clearly has a vertical-ID in it, and there are a bunch of them, we need to wake up, management. Nothing wrong with kids having fun, but drunken immaturity and vomiting in the bathroom are things I generally reserve for my own college memories. Dirty, nasty bathrooms, broken doors and safety equipment, this place is divey, but not in the cool way. Bar Rescue should pay this nuclear holocaust a visit! BTW, Eric responded to me pretty quickly, and the management seems to do a good job here.

This place was just that Atomic. Not sure what the venue use to be. Rolled through the doors with NOCOVER. Thought I was having a flashback from the 80’s when I seen the band on stage. Do some 80s 90s rock n roll. Yeah I knew the songs too. Then as you looked around the room. I thought I was going to see someones parents there. A little older crowd at 1st. Then I think as the night progressed. The door guy was able to get a few of the young’ns in there. So not a bad spot for some throwback live band 80s rock. There was a DJ downstairs I never made it there. From what I was told it was nothing to write home to mama though. Drinks they were quick to get your order even being 2 to 3 deep from the bar. NOCOVER!!!
