This place is very good. They have a great menu and a family menu for 2 and 4 people. Lots of food. Wednesdays is ½ off wine. We had a salad and the lasagna. Was very good and alot of food for the price. areService is quick and they are willing to accommodate. For an extra price I believe they have gluten free.

Waiting for your table at Arrivederci? Why not enjoy some wine at Bianco Rosso? The venue may be small and intimate, but the wine list can put any of the local wine bars to shame. Try any of the weekly specials if you have trouble picking out a wine. There’s a reason why they’re special, but you’ll just have to try to find out. While you’re at it, go ahead and buy a bottle. You can take whatever is left with you to your table next door, and it’s much cheaper than buying by the glass! Although the wine is excellent, the food leaves something to be desired. The menu is simple and full of dishes that can be made in bulk and simply reheated on order. It is a smart business move, but leads to the inconsistency in quality that many reviewers on this page have commented on. I found my French Onion Soup(in an Italian wine bar, I know) salty and watery. Conversely, the eggplant dish reminded me of lasagna and was tasty. If the food here stepped up a bit, I could envision this place heaving on any night of the week. Overall, a great addition to Arrivederci, but not my first choice in town for a wine bar.

Bummed that I have to take out a star, but I’ve been back a couple of times and the food just doesn’t seem to be consistent. Sometimes it is as good as those visits, but I’ve had some real dissapoints too. Like someone else on Unilocal,I had the very stale bread experience. It’s like they have both Goofus and Gallant in the kitchen, and there is no way to know which one you’re going to get. They still have a very well-priced list, with lots of interesting choices.

Great new place! I went here for happy hour this week and really enjoyed the wine, service, and food. The wine list was great, with lots of Italian wines– its owned by Arrividecci after all. The waitress was very knowledgeable and spent some time helping us pick a good dry white wine. The little tables outside are awesome. The place is small but very quaint and comfortable. The warm goat cheese with tomato sauce appetizer was fantastic, perfect to go with our wine(per the waitress’s suggestion again). I’m very glad to have this place 2 blocks from my house:)

As a place to sit and drink wine, this place gets 4 stars. My friends and I had SUCH good wine and the price was really reasonable! However, go to one of their other restaurants for dinner. Everything was kind of lack luster. I got the lasagna, which was«eh.» The paninis that our table ordered were like hard tack! The bread was REALLY tough! So, go there, get a bottle of wine and an app. We loved people watching and hung out for a long time before we even ordered. Just, maybe go next door for dinner.

Still loving this wine bar! I’m a regular now and enjoy the wines, food atmosphere and company. My recent favorites are the Chono Cabernet and the Bresaola Salad!

This place is owned by the same group as my other favorite two italian restaurants in san diego, and I am from NY where there is good italian food everywhere, so I came here last night with pretty high expectations. The data does not lie. 5 reviews, all 5 star. Lots of good wines around $ 20, great food, smallish but comfortable space. We had a very fresh bread and cheese plate(amazing), seafood bisque(amazing), arugula salad(amazing), mozz. panini(very good), beef lasagna(very good), polenta(very good), and 2 bottles of wine(very good), for the low low price of about $ 35 a head. Can’t wait to go back! How could they improve? Hmmm… hire Federica Felini as a server? Pay the customer to eat instead of the other way around? That’s about all I can come up with. Next time I come here it will be on my Vespa and it will be the perfect italian evening.

I am not a Unilocaler of a few words. Except when words cannot fully describe what a great fuc*kin’ deal this place is. $ 18 bucks for a bottle of chianti? PLUS a free antipasti selected by the kitchen to perfectly complement your vino selection sun. thru thurs??? and mouthwatering to boot?(They share the same owner and kitchen as Arrivederci next door.) Not to mention the front row seat to local Hillcrest«color» walking by if you sit outside? Sold. Go here. Go here now. Before this new gem ain’t so new anymore and falls victim to hype and gets hacked apart by cynical Unilocalers who don’t get it. Bianco Rosso is simple, cozy, inexpensive neighborhood perfection.
