This is a must visit for coffee fans. Very smooth espresso and the location is beautiful. Full blog post/review coming soon on my blog. Search The Cappuccino Traveler.

Out of the bird rock roasters, this is my favorite one. 1) faster service 2) on my way to work 3) Ryan and Adam are awesome! I’m hooked on their cappuccino, half milk half soy. Mmm.

Knowledgeable barristas and wonderful coffee. I also bought an insulated black mug that is now hands-down my favorite to keep my java piping hot! Highly recommend the salted caramel latte – not to sweet but soooo delicious!

Best damn coffee. Vanilla bean latte with almond milk and half the sweetener is prime. Officially obsessed.

Expertly brewed coffee and espresso by people who love what they do! Not to mention the best cappuccino in SD! These guys prove that sustainable and responsibly sourced coffee can be affordable and tasty too

I love this location. Sure I love the one by the beach. Its amazing. Its the San Diego We see in tourism ads. Yet I love this location much better. They have windows that let you watch them roast massive bags of coffee. The aroma is intoxicating. Its as if the coffee Gods of Colombia, Ethiopia and Central America are engaged in an ethereal orgy of coffee production. This location is more for the people, by the people type place. I like it that way. Either way I love it and I love their coffee at any location. Its different and better than most.

Once you try their coffee, you will never go anywhere else. This is my go-to every single morning.(I love their almond milk lattes.) They also do fancy cold-brewed coffees, and teas. Perfectly made drinks, excellent service. I only wish they were open on the weekends!

The best vanilla latte. Full flavor and not overly-sweet. Great space. While the inside seating area isn’t massive, the place feels open and airy due to the fact that the coffee bar sits in front of the large workspace they use to roast their beans. Smells amazing, and place feels laid back but productive as you can watch them stay busy in the back. Nice spot do post up and get a little work done, or sit outside in the sun. They also sell bags of their fresh roasted beans, along with brewing supplies — mostly pour over stuff(staple/quality brands like Chemex). Good spot. Wish they would expand their hours!

Best coffee in the area, period. I use to frequent the la jolla location, but this is much closer to home and incredibly accessible. As always, keeping true to bird rock roasters culture, the staff here in bay park are very welcoming, accommodating and always willing to suggest the new roast or what they drink personally. I already can see«local» and regulars showing up daily, this place will be a hit in the area for years to come. They just need a larger sign!

This is the newest of the 3 Bird Rock Coffee Roasters locations and this has the most high tech coffee machinery. I ordered the Ethiopia coffee: Nefas Natural as a v60 pour over. The guys here have this nifty pour over machine thing, where they put the filter on and the machine arm thing, pours the water for them. I remember the guys telling me what it was called, but I can’t remember. I love how at this location, you see the whole back end of Bird Rock Coffee Roasters. You see their roaster and their bags of beans and it’s pretty awesome. The guys here are really chill and love to just interact with customers. If you’re looking for a Bird Rock Coffee location that isn’t super duper busy and is nice and relaxing, come here. I love how this location has parking spots, granted not a ton, but still some. Just a little warning, this place is only open weekdays until noon, so don’t plan to drop by here on the weekends or in the afternoon or else you’ll be singing Adele’s «Hello» song: «Hello from the other side…»(I don’t know if there are security cameras and microphones, but if there are, you could provide the people who look through the footage with some entertainment singing that song from outside the door peering inside.)

I’m happy this Bird Rock Roaster not only opened up a as a roasting facility and bulk purchase location, but also as tasting café. I came in before a meeting at a local financial institution and ordered a Dark Roast Café au Lait with a small almond and chocolate chip biscotti both for under $ 4. The dark roast was full bodied and quite delicious to drink. The hot milk created a nice light foam that coated the top and added a bit of creaminess to the coffee. They made this one just right. The almond and chocolate chip biscotti was fantastic and with its crunchy texture, it was just right for dipping in the coffee. Since it is also a a coffee and tea shop with some room to hang out with a few tables and a small coffee bar area, they do offer Wi-Fi. However, I hope they find a way to better its service because its that Time Warner where they give 15 minuted for free, then they bump you off, and expect you to pay for service. The gents running the shop were very cool and friendly, not to mention they sure know how to make a mean Café au Lait!

So stoked to get some quality coffee at a spot right near my pad. So over Starbucks! The two guys workin’ it are super friendly and if you buy a bag of their coffee they give you a free cup to go. If you’re around Bay Park area you should stop in there. Also have a bunch of gadgets and gizmos that enhance the flavor of the coffee. They’re like mad scientist baristas.

Newest location with the friendliest staff! Finally! Love the newest Bird Rock location. Same great coffee as with the other locations but definitely the best and friendliest baristas. They really know a lot about coffee and can make some great suggestions(Thanks to Ryan for introducing me to a cortado! It’s now my new favorite drink).

Great coffee, great service, high quality products but very limited hours. They were very nice, gave us extra coffee to go and explained their roasting process very clearly. Will definitely come back and maybe try their main place in LA Jolla.

Linda Vista’s best kept secret is CERTAINLY Bird Rock Coffee Roaster’s roasting facility. Same incredible quality(I mean incredible. They are a force to be reckoned with with their international recognition for being top-notch. I have such a crush on BRCR), super cool new location. As the name suggests, this is where they roast. HOWCOOLISTHAT??? I dream of being one of their master roasters. Chuck, holla at me if you need an intern. I’ll work for free. Please let me learn your ways. Personal desperation aside, this place is awesome. They have their huge bags of green beans sorted in the back waiting to be roasted. They have their huge roaster as well, which is just so cool. So cool. So.Cool. The main difference besides it being their roasting facility is that they do not feature the same menu as the other locations, it is more a limited menu. BUTSTILLSOPERFECT. They do not do pour overs here(if I am correct), but they do have the bar so you can get your drip coffee or your espresso drinks. There is also very limited seating. It is also WAY less crowded than the other locations(Bird Rock and Little Italy), and I am hesitant to boast about them because I love that there isn’t always a line out the door. But I cannot hold back, the love it too strong. The décor is classic BRCR, with the photos and processes explained. The baristas and workers are well-trained, knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate. I want to be one of them, and if my whole grad school thing takes a break, I am calling them and begging them to teach me. But I digress yet again. This is one of the coolest places around for those who appreciate some DANG good coffee and want to catch a behind-the-scenes glimpse of how they operate. If you’re not familiar with BRCR, check out their website and you’ll see that they offer something truly special, at a truly special location.

Great way to start the morning or continue the work day(they’re open till noon) with quality fresh roasted coffee. I’ve been coming here the last few weeks and today’s visit was quite special. I purchased a bag of Nefas Natural and to my surprise, it was roasted today :) In addition, I received a complimentary cup of cold brew :) Thank you for the wonderful coffee and exceptional customer service! If you’re looking for a great selection of fresh roasted beans, coffee, cold brew, and equipment/supplies, the Morena Blvd Roastery is the spot. Not too busy and you get individualized/personalized service. These guys are awesome!!!
