No more beef Wellington. My other usual the Caprese was not worth the $ I paid for. Where’s the mozzarella? I felt like I was eating just a thick piece of bread. Ordered the lobster bisque and it wasn’t smooth and it was too salty. Such a disappointment and walked out of there $ 50 poorer for 3 sandwich, 2 soups and a drink.

I generally love this place sometimes some things are hit or miss and it is pretty pricey IMO. I love the cheese selection however the last time I went the gal at the cheese counter seemed off put when I asked to try a cheese. Then she was like ‘are you going to buy it?’ MAYBE? IDK until I try it. Anyway i have never had that problem at Venissimo. They will let you try every damn cheese without one complaint. I only tried 1 here and got an attitude. I had a delicious pulled pork sandwich once that was awesome. The grilled cheese of the month is always good paired with the tomato bisque or mushroom brie soup. The Mushroom soup is a bit salty but when you dunk the grilled cheese in it it makes it edible. I decided to indulge on a piece of mexican chocolate cheesecake one day and it tasted like stale refrigerator. They did give me a refund and were nice about it. The lines can also be REALLY long at lunch time so phoning in an order is the way to go.

Went here for brunch last week and wasn’t disappointed at all. We had Cubano sandwich, cheese board, and spinach/kale dip. The dip was heaven! And their beer selection is extensive which required a beer novice like me a little extra time to decide. Tip: Don’t get the cheese board and the dip together or you’ll end with bread overload. Literally we are carbs on carbs on carbs that day. Lol

Howdy Unilocal readers and partners! Tonight I had a fantastic dinner at Brothers Provisions. These 3 brothers do Brothers Provisions, Urge Gastropub and The Barrel Room… all within vicinity of each other so you’ll have to check each Brother’s unique spin to food! This little hidden gem(and when I say hidden, I mean, no obvious signs from outside until you get into the lot) took me by surprise when I entered. Adorned wooden accents, rows and rows of unique beers, wines, a cheese/deli, dessert area, and of course a dining area family picnic table style! When you walk in, just keep walking in to the back left where you will find paper menus and the cash register to order your meal. This American deli boasts mainly sandwiches, salads, some extras and cheeseboards. I went for the Chicken Salad Sandwich which came with chicken seasoned with curry(mixed with almonds, celery), potato chips(I know. what??!), balsamic salad. I went for the $ 2 upgrade for the tomato bisque instead of the chips that automatically come with it. The total was $ 13. A bit pricey for a to-go order at the counter style type of meal but the quality will make me come back for more. Water was complimentary and self-serve by the door. They also have rad bottled drinks like all flavors of ginger ale, sodas, etc. You pay at the counter, grab your number on a stick thing and pick a spot. Yes, if it’s busy expect to share your giant table :) The food came out on a metal tray. The Sandwich was fabulous. The bread was on a multi-grain/rye type of bread and the chicken salad sandwich was flavorful without being too much. The chicken salad was not too heavy, which I appreciated. It tasted satisfying and healthy. The sandwich was proportioned well… not too much(though I wouldn’t have complained), and not too less. I left satisfied, though I might be hungry in a few hours. I definitely recommend the tomato bisque. It’s got the cream texture, so if you like it cream made, this is your soup. There were some onion pieces in here that added to the textures, and it was sooo tasty. Reminded me of Nordstrom’s Tomato Soup… yummmy! I also tried the Hawaiian Mac Salad and that was quite tasty as well. I recommend sprinkling some pepper for that extra kick of spice. The noodles were al dente, the side was served cold. If you are looking for a sweet sandwich shop and a place to either sit around some unique beers from all over the US and feel pretty cool. and or a place to pick up some 15% alcoholic beers and cheeses. this is it!!!

If you love beer this is heaven for you! I like going to brewery’s from what they have to offer on tap, but this place has a huge selection on wines and beers. They have warm beers to choose from like a grocery store, and they have a fridge to also choose from. They literally have everything. If you purchase a beer from their fridge they give you a glass to pour it in. They have a small selection of beers on tap. I ordered their apple cider beer brewed from Julian and I loved it! Super girly. They also have food to order as well. Like salads, hummus and sandwiches. I really enjoyed their basil hummus! Customer service was on point. EVERYONE had their A game on, definitely a family vibe.

Let me start with the food. Everything that I have ordered have been delicious. They don’t have a ton of selection but what they have on the menu are perfect. All the ingredients just add up to compliment each other and make a great meal. Everything tastes fresh and all the flavors are balanced. I love all the sandwiches here. So far. Service is excellent. The staff is friendly and courteous. They know what’s on the menu which shows good training and management. They are attentive even after you have received your order. Lastly is the cleanliness and organization of this place. It’s just a place you want to be in. Great lighting and decorations make the place look inviting. The tables and chairs are well kept and clean. Just a great place to hang out. One more thing. The beer and wine selection here is amazing. Beers from around the county to around the world can be found here. I believe this is one of the best food spot in San Diego. Try it and you just might agree with me.

This place is simply amazing. Me and my husband, this is our favorite place to meet for lunch. I love them because they are so gluten free for me, they will use a new knife, new cutting board, and help you make sure everything you want on your sandwich is gluten free. My husband loves them because of their amazing beer selection. By the way they always have a gluten free cider. And if they have alpine beer or duck foot brewery those beers are all gluten reduced, so if you are glutarded like myself go and enjoy an Amazon sandwich, soups, and yes beer! Favorites– Hubby– spicy tuna sandwich and pastrami sandwich Me– BLT, caprese, or any roast beef sandwich. Thy also have great selection of meats and cheese for boards. And always checkout their specials.

I have heard good things about this place for some time now but never had the opportunity to try it until today. We stopped by for a late lunch and to enjoy the afternoon with a couple beers. Parking was not a problem today as it was the day after Christmas but I have seen this lot fill up(it is the same plaza as the popular RB Sushi). Plus, the actual spots themselves seem to be designed solely for Fiats and Mini Coopers. Once we exited the car I immediately detected an amazing smell coming from the storefront. I loved the look of the place from the minute I stepped inside. The deli cases of meats, cheeses, and other goodies can be distracting and overwhelming — I wanted to just stand there, drool, ooh and ahh all over the place. Luckily, I spied the very helpful sign above the register with the step by step instructions. Grab menu, decide what you want, then get in line. Simple enough. The menu is not huge but there are a handful of choices in each section. We tried the banh mi sandwich, the pastrami sandwich, the kids’ grilled cheese sammie, and the pork belly nachos. I am a lover of cheese so my little one’s grilled cheese(with gruyère!) ended up more in my mouth than his. I ended up giving half of my pastrami sandwich to the hubby b/c he suddenly decided he was hungry after all(after tasting my sandwich, of course). Our friends thought the banh mi sammie was a bit spicy and had more of a bbq/tangy flavor that is not in a traditional banh mi — but that must have been BP’s version of the banh mi sammie. The pork belly nachos were good but I should have read the menu a bit closer to realize that the nachos are made with potato chips rather than traditional tortilla chips. Still, everything tasted great and the table enjoyed both food and drinks. And their drinks! So many choices. Great selection for purchase as well. I also enjoyed perusing their other goodies like beer cookies, beer bread mix, chocolates, etc. Overall this is a really cool place with a chill vibe. It’s not huge but there are quite a few tables indoors as well as outdoors. Patio is dog friendly. Service itself is also really great which helps to make this place even more welcoming. I can’t wait to come back and try more items!

I came here with friends for a boozy Saturday lunch. Nice, trendy café/marketplace with a well-curated selection of bottled wine.(Bonus points for Iron Horse sparkling wine.) The beer drinkers in the group were quite pleased with the variety of beers on tap. Things were looking up! And then the food arrived… I’m not sure if my order(Mediterranean salad) was simply ill advised, or if it was improperly made. I was confronted by a heaping pile of garbanzo beans laid upon a small bed of butter lettuce and a smattering of more palatable bits. It was truly an obscene amount of garbanzo beans-straight out of the can(or perhaps cans). The rest of the food looked and tasted wonderful, so I would be curious to come back and give it a second chance.

This place. It was so quaint and reminded me of a European deli even though I’ve never been to Europe! Food– Okay so this place was so good! I got the kids grilled cheese a tomato soup! Probably the most delicious thing I have had in a long time. It is rare that a kids meal does the trick. The photos include a grown up meal if that satisfies you. Drinks– uhh I don’t know who’s idea this was, but sticking beer in an aged bourbon barrel. I applaud the beer engineer who thought of it! I wish j had labels for your guys but maybe it’s the mystery of visiting and asking. I love that it was such a to go looking dinner with the classy drink glass. Couldn’t beat the vibe . Much fun!

If you want an awesome selection of beer and wine, plus some great grub to go with it head on over to Bros Pros(okay, I tried that, doesn’t work. Moving on.) We first tried out brunch here on a Saturday and the breakfast sandwich was fantastic, as was their house champagne bottle/small oj combo. Then, we stopped in for the AleSmith/CheeseSmith pairing and that was quite fun — but it’s hard to go wrong with fresh AleSmith beer and fresh cheese. Plus, we added a couple additional bottles of beer to share for a very reasonable price. I know we’ll be back again and again!

Think of a crafty market place w select wines, unique bottled and tapped craft beers, tasty cheeses, and made-to-order sandwiches to boot. Combine that with a laid back atmosphere, chill music and wooden picnic tables /stools and you will feel like you’re in your best friends back yard drinking a beer and having a nice meal on a hot summer day. Their beer and wine selections are solid as with their tap list. Sandwich creations are flavorful and so far from boring. Pick up a block of cheese on your way out too! Definitely a place to pick up your cheese/wine/beer vices. I shall return.

I came here yesterday for a work lunch and I cannot believe that I have missed out on this San Diego eatery. First Impressions: This place is kind of tucked away and you can’t see it from the street. Do not be discouraged, it is worth the seeking. I walk in to a amusement park of craft brew and fine cheese every where. The décor is typical modern hipster, but nothing you’d turn your nose up at. The Food: I have a piece of quiche and tomato bisque soup. Both were absolutely delicious. The quiche was Bacon, but has a good blend of other ingredients and brought a full melody of flavors. I knew the make or break food would be the Tomato Bisque. For all of you who like to go to Nordstrom Café for their Tomato Basil soup, you have a NEW favorite. It was absolutely perfect. Warm, creamy, fantastic blend of herbs and not too heavy or oily. I loved it. The Selection: There was a whole menu that I am so eager to try. They have a beer selection that is like a miniature Bevmo and to my delight they feature a Monthly grilled cheese special. One of my coworkers got this sandwhich and it looked like heaven. The Staff: Friendly, young, hipster types. Overall: I LOVED this place. I can’t wait to go back and share this eatery with my best friend. I have a new favorite spot!

it’s like a Trader Joe’s meets Euro supermarket where there are aisles and aisles of craft beers and wines as well as snacks to go along with your beers and wines and even bitters and garnishes for people who enjoy a little extra with their beers and wines and even sandwiches, salads, and soups for people to enjoy WITH their beers and wines. a «Trader BROS» if you will. ANOTHER north county hidden gem. how the hell have i not come to this place sooner… #civilities.

FIRSTIMPRESSIONS Rustic, casual, and downright delicious; these are all apt descriptions for this unassuming little shop right off interstate 15. If you’re looking for a tasty meal paired with some uncommon ales, this is your new favorite spot THEEATS Brother’s Provisions wears many hats; it’s a bottle shop, a sandwich shop, a deli, and a high quality cheese shop. They specialize in sandwiches and quick café meals. My favorite is an ever changing weekly variation. Their in-house cheese monger(yes, that’s a real title) concocts a new grilled cheese recipe each week that partners eccentric cheeses with equally unorthodox ingredients like potato chips, Nutella, and a host of other things. I was skeptical of some, like you surely are, but rest assured this sandwich has never once failed to impress. Pair it with a cup of their rich tomato bisque and a nice beer from their 15 taps or immense bottle selection, and you’ve got a hearty meal sure to sate any appetite. THESUDS This place is a bottle shop first and café second. I come here to find all the rare and eccentric beers I could wish to find. They favor craft brews, so don’t expect to find any yellow fizzy water ’round these parts. THEVERDICT Brothers Provisions is part of the family with Urge Gastropub and The Barrel Room, both of which are fantastic specimens in their own right. If you like the latter, or if you just want a great sandwich, definitely GO check this place out!

I don’t often frequent the Rancho Bernardo area so when my best friend suggested we go for some wine and cheese at Brothers Provisions I was excited to try something new and ever since that first time experience my husband keeps on wanting to come back for more. This cute rustic artisan market & deli is nestled in a small plaza right off of the 15 freeway. I’ve heard that they are the sister company to Urge gastropub which is also in the area. Brothers Provisions has quite the selection of craft beers and wine options as well as non alcoholic craft sodas. They have many beverages to satisfy everyone’s choosing. They have a frequent changing food menu it seems with a nice selection of gourmet salads and sandwiches as well as meat and cheese boards. I’ve recently had their smoked salmon B.L.T which was tasty(and thick let me tell you with their Rosemary focaccia bread) and the hubby loves their triple threat. I really appreciate their use of quality ingredients but the problem is they may only have limited quantities of these ingredients so don’t be surprised if they run out of items on the menu or you’ll have to quickly figure out what to substitute in place of whatever runs out. Nonetheless, I have always been satisfied with our orders so far. Depending on what you order it can get a bit pricey considering it’s more of an order at the counter/seat yourself type of deal. Food items start at around $ 10 and add protein to your dish as well as a beverage and at the end of it you have a $ 20+ meal. I’ll take into consideration of the quality ingredients they use and the service is usually great! Seating here are the communal style tables so be prepared to share especially if it gets a little bit busy. Great place to go especially for happy hour! Just being there in itself is a conversation starter being surrounded by all those craft beers and a small shelf with all different kids of hot sauce! I believe they even host special events on certain nights so check out their calendar. Brothers Provisions is Definitely a must try!

We were commuting back up the I-15 and dropped in to avoid the afternoon traffic and get fill our stomachs. Brothers Provisions has a convenient location near the freeway exit ramps. It wasn’t the easiest to spot because they share a building with neighboring businesses. However, when I stepped in, I was taken aback by how organized the interior was. Not only was it clean, but well navigable. Deli counter, register, beer/wine aisles, dry food sections. Though the place doubles as a deli and grocery, the open table layout is without obstruction and provides an inviting, relaxed ambiance. We ordered two of their recently added sandwich selections: the Cuban and Salmon BLT. Though the staff seemed occupied with setting up new décor, we were able to get our order in, take our number, and grab some stools. Aside from the aisles of craft beer and wine, the draft beer selection looked nice. So while we waited, I also decided to try something from their taps and add a dessert in too. I had the Cuban sandwich, and I have to say I enjoyed my bite of the Salmon BLT more, as it wasn’t so.rich. The bread on the Cuban did provide an excellent crunch though. Portions were big and house chips were a decent pairing. The section had a neatly organized self-service utility corner for water/glasses, utensils, and to-go boxes(for our unfinished halves). Before we took care of wrapping, we shared the Bacon Brownie – the crumbled bacon on layers of fudge was a rich treat. While prices were higher than average delis for the items, the experience was fine. Brothers seems like a good place to wind down with beer or wine, eats optional. 3.75

This is one of the cutest little places that I have ever seen! Walking in, you would think that the store looks different inside, but when you enter their doors, you are greeted by cheese, wine, food, and happiness! I ordered the Pit Fall sandwich and I was SO surprised by their food! My friend who came got a sandwich and her’s was cut in half so she had in total, one whole sandwich. When I got my plate, I had a total of two sandwiches! Yes TWO! Nothing was cut in half, but they were sitting on top of each other at an angle! For my side I ordered their housemade chips! Delicious! Lightly salted and great in flavors! I will be coming back for sure and eating EVERYTHING on their menu! Delicious!

Found this hidden gem just a few months back and it lives as one of my favorite sandwiches joints. They have a wide selection of beers served on tap, individual bottles, and six packs as well as neat and unique snacks including my favorite – cookie chips! They also serve my favorite beer delirium tremens, which is hard to find served anywhere! On to the food: my usual is their chipotle chicken sandwich which comes with kettle chips or their soup of the day or salad for an up charge. Their chipotle is so yum! It comes with sundries tomatoes and it just indefinitely hits the spot. I’ve tried their beeramisu, their take on the tiramisu is fantastic! The lightest kick of beer and perfect texture topped off with a cookie. The ambiance is cute with long bench tables and serve your own water in mason jars.
