I’m visiting out of town and my friends live in Casa Mira View. I was left to fend for myself as they all have work. Café ZZO is definitely convenient and accessible. It has a nice and cozy modern feel. I was greeted and the friendly staff offered me recommendations. I ended up with the breakfast burrito panini. It was a mistake on my part to think I can handle this burrito by myself. It was grilled like a panini so that it maintained its shape. The tator tots were crispy, eggs were abundant, cheese was present, avocado chunks were good and bacon was somewhat sparse. There was a side of salsa(I’m assuming, NY salsa tastes differently) which really brought out the flavors in this burrito. Without the salsa, it tasted too bland. Quality and service was pretty good.

Great service and great food thus far! The only addition would be guarana and more Brasilian food but other then that this small café is cute. The parking is a little inconvenient. The Coxinha is not so authentic the outside is great and crispy but the inside is a bit dry and there usual gooey doughy cheesy type hard to explain is not really there. the salad dressing was a bit watery but I will look into trying new things.

*******3.5STARS******* I find it cool how they added their own café as a part of the apartment complex in this area for the residents here and for the public as well. Parking can be an issue though. There’s a couple of parking spots right in front of their leasing office(which are usually taken) or a guest parking area which inside their parking structure which is kinda a far walk. My boyfriend and i just found parking on the street and walked ! I really love the atmosphere of this place. They got a modern white/green color vibe going on which makes the café look hip and a great place to even study too. There’s a bunch of wall outlets for your studying needs! Our order took kinda long… we were the only 2 people in the café at the time(probably like 15 mins?) but we ordered the caprese panini and my boyfriend ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich. Personally, the caprese panini wasn’t that great. The bread was kind of hard and it wasn’t pressed like a panini but instead it was more charred or burnt with a crisp to have that texture that makes panini’s a little crunchier. But it was a little bit too hard for me to bite into. The ingredients were kind of bland to me as i couldn’t really taste the pesto inside the sandwich. Although, the potatoes that came with the order were really tasty. My boyfriend’s sandwich on the other hand, that was a different story. I really liked the taste of his sandwich as the bread was really soft and the chicken was crispy and the ingredients were well put together as well. And my boyfriend asked them to put mayo in it which made it extra delicious. I really wanna come back and try their breakfast burrito panini and their Brazilian chicken croquette as that sounds really exotic to try.

My friend and I came in around 11:30 for lunch. We were served immediately and each ordered a panini and a slice of cheesecake. The background music was a mix of pop an R&B, a pretty easygoing soundtrack. Our order seemed to take an unusually long amount of time,(almost 20 minutes) as were the only two people in the café. Two other patrons ordered and got their food before us, but theirs may have just been quicker recipes, you never know. My panini tasted amazing and the generously-portioned cheesecake was pretty decent. Overall a nice experience.

The breakfast burrito panini is really flavorful cause of the bacon and the tater tots inside are still nice and crispy. The tortilla is a little crispy too since it was panini pressed. It would be better if the avocados were a little more ripe though. The chorizo burrito was just okay. I liked the spice from the jalapenos but there isn’t a lot of chorizo inside. So its mostly just a spicy egg and cheese burrito. The salsa they give you for the burritos is good and spicy. The purple pineapple smoothie is yummy and light. The blended frozzo(mixed white and dark chocolate) is good too. The grey chairs are comfy. And everyone here is super nice and friendly. So I’d come back and get the breakfast burrito panini. :)

I love coming here for a breakfast sandwich. They even let me substitute the bagel for a croissant. I like that they use cheddar cheese instead of american. They employees are always kind when I come in. The café is clean, nice, and modern.

I’m always at my friends house in this condo complex and every time I’m here, I HAVE to stop by this café. The staff and nice and friendly. Every food item I tried here tastes so good. It might be a little bit expensive, but I talked to the owner of this café, Rebecca, and she explains how she only buys the best ingredients and products. So you actually pay for the quality, which I don’t mind. A few of my favorite food items here is the healthy wrap, the albacore tuna melt, the breakfast burrito, and also the house potatoes and tarot tot side items. This place also sells variety of snacks so it’s convenient for the people who lives here so they don’t have to stop by a gas station or liquor store

Nope. I wouldn’t go here again. I felt fooled by the reviews. Ordered a gyro and a breakfast burrito. They were both sub par to say the least. We had vanilla flavored coffee too. It smelled great and tasted like stale old beans and dirty water. This place is an over styled cafeteria and a poor one at that. I’m even conflicted with giving this place a rating of 2. Possibly even more like a 1.5. Sorry to rip on this place so bad, but it was not good.

When looking for a breakfast place in Mira Mesa Café ZZO popped up. I hadn’t heard of it but when I realized that it was in those new apartment buildings I was even more intrigued. It’s a rather small place, decorated in a modern style I suppose. The employees were nice enough, but they seemed to be lacking on Gluten free options. Or really even know what that was about. I’m not insistent on it things being GF at all, but I will ask for my friends. In the end we found a egg white spinach omelette and I had the breakfast burrito panini. The panini was decent, very neatly grilled to flatten the burrito down. It made it easier to eat than a regular burrito. More places should do it this way. The omlette was a let down though. There was very little spinach in it at all. More like a mere sprinkling. If you are charging for something that is just egg whites and spinach, at least a handful of spinach is in order. If i were a resident in the complex I’m sure I’d frequent the place all the time. There is a chill relaxed vibe to it.

What a privilege it is to live in the apartment buildings nearby Café Zzo! If I lived there, I would frequent this place like crazy! Simple dishes but very hearty and delicious. It’s a small hole in the wall and the owner is Brazilian so the dishes have some Brazilian food influence. We got their Breakfast Burrito Panini and the Acai Bowl. It almost felt like I was over at a friend’s house and they whipped up some delicious breakfast for me. Simplicity at its best! If you live in the apartments, it would be rather embarrassing to have not tried Café Zzo so go go go!

I am excited to have café zzo open in Mira Mesa. There are so few options in this neighborhood for yummy and/or healthy food. I saw a lot of to go orders. The food was very good. I got the Cali Benedict but I asked him to substitute spinach for the turkey to make it vegetarian. They were happy to do so, they even sauteed the spinach. It was quite tasty. While most of the main entrees are pretty healthy, the potatoes are all fried. Just a heads up. If you are a coffee connoisseur, skip the latte(and probably the others). I liked the soundtrack of the café as well: dance songs along the lines of Justin Timberlake. Definitely not for everyone, but they always make me in a good mood :)

Healthy food that taste great? Yes, and I am in on that! I stopped in for breakfast and ordered the spinach wrap stuffed with egg whites, feta cheese, sun dried tomatoes, fresh spinach, and a little seasoning via black pepper. I’m sorry I can’t remember the price, but I think it was between $ 7 -$ 9. For a «healthy wrap» it was really good and arrived piping hot. The egg whites were fluffy and well seasoned, and the feta cheese was abundant and provide a great salty element and crumbly yet soft texture. The sun dried tomatoes and had great flavor. I liked the slight acidity they brought to the wrap which balanced well against the semi sweet egg whites and briny feta cheese. The spinach was slightly chopped and provided a mild peppery flavor, and to top it off, it is quite good for you! I was very pleased with the spinach wrap, and it inspired me to go find a package of them at a local grocery market to take home with me. Service was pretty nice. It was early, so the counter person was not their yet, but they still took my order. They are located in the Casa Mira View Luxury Apartments right in front. They seating inside and on the patio outside. Every was just great, including the Americano espresso I enjoyed.

Went to the soft opening of this place, the owner, Rebecca was extremely friendly and has the soul of a true café aficionado. The décor takes you to Europe, maybe France or Spain. If you’re looking for plush seating for the casual coffee meet-up, they’ve got you covered. Or perhaps you prefer bar/countertop seating to crush through a caffeine induced study session… they have that too! The breakfast options range from vegetarian wraps to the classic breakfast sandwich or a hearty chorizo burrito. They have a full lunch menu as well with cold sandwiches, paninis and salads too. Let us not forget the desserts… ohlala cinnamon buns the size of a personal pan pizza, and new yoooook cheesecake like it’s from the heart of a café in the city. Libations? Of course! The freshly blended smoothies are to die for, my friends got the purple pineapple and the strawberry banana smoothies which were fresh, well portioned and filling. I got the classic white mocha, perfect amount of sweetness to complement the well-roasted espresso. Can’t wait to come back!
