This place is a Dream! Forget lame old Starbucks! The owner is the sweetest as well as her staff. I’m coming here everyday for the excellent service, great coffee and snacks! :)

Walk up service at coffee cart and immediately greeted by a cheerful and engaging woman. We talked about 10 different topics in the 90 seconds it took her to make me a latte. Latte was perfectly crafted and I walked away from there feeling great. Something you don’t get after visiting the green mermaid coffee shop.
Support this local business and you won’t regret it.

Good coffee — friendly owner!!! Both my husband and I ordered an iced Americano… They were great. It is a little road side stand in a trailer– if you aren’t looking you might miss it! Worth a stop.

Stayed down the street on a family vacation. I was looking for a good coffee place to hit on my morning walk… found it! I had the Mexican Choc Mocha and hubby had the White Lightning. Both were awesome and my mocha was probably the best I’ve had. Prices were fantastic! There is a Sbux down the street from this place and I don’t know why anyone would go there with this gem being so close.

California Bean is now my main stop for morning coffee. At first sip I was sold on the super smooth brew they served. The adorably sweet owner Morgan then let me know they serve Thomas Hammer coffee which I had earlier this year and loved. As far as I know they are the only place in San Diego to serve Thomas Hammer. In addition to the regular brews they offer a white coffee which has more caffeine, and lots of speciality coffee drinks. They offer different dairy/​non-​dairy options and have a ton of syrups to include my coconut which is my favorite. Their prices are great and they have a «buy 9 get 1 free» card. It’s easy to support this small local business serving up great brew with a smile. Happy caffeinating!
