I’m a regular at Cj’s. When I say regular I don’t mean I come in a few times a month(or even a week). I make it to Cj’s about twice a day. Ofcourse, I do work in the building which is suspiciously void of vending machines and has nothing in walking distance. It’s a good thing Cj’s has everything I need. A different hot lunch special everyday, soups, salads, sandwiches, burritos, 50cent snacks, 75cent sodas and ice cream for dessert. The food is good and made to order. The staff is friendly and the owner is onsite everyday. I couldn’t ask for a better local deli!

Oh how barren the wasteland of Kearny Mesa is for food. Having phở, bento boxes, and dim sum every day of the week can appeal to some, and trust me I love my asian foods, but not every day. Sooooo, you are left searching the Unilocal!map for a decent sandwich or «other» food. CJ’s deli comes to the rescue! Located inside of Rady Children’s Hospital foundation building(not to be confused with the actual hospital) you can get a really good sandwich(I recommend the tuna-melt and ask to add some tomatoes, onions and jalepenos!), salad, wrap, or a special which are always pretty decent. Despight the presumptious name, the«Super-Delicious» is actually just that. Keep in mind this is just a deli, not really a sit down place(although they have a few small tables in the back next to the boxes). Great prices too! So, if you find yourself wandering the barren streets for non-asian food in this neighborhood and need a quick sandwich/salad to go — find CJ’s.
