I follow these guys on Instagram for years now, glad to finally try them and I have to say their coffee is amazing!

I came here to try their coffee and was ready to slap on a 5* review and make them my daily coffee spot. Why? Their $ 3 filtered coffee was delicious, and their $ 1 refill made it a decently affordable option since I don’t mind drinking two cups. I came back the second day and at 1pm was told there was no filtered coffee available. Kind of a bummer as that’s the entire reason I returned. Instead, I had a pourover, which cost me $ 3.75 and had no refill option. I felt tricked. I wish the guy told me the day before that they sometimes don’t sell the filtered coffee after 12pm. The owner should really reconsider. He lost me as a daily customer for my two months in San Diego. That’s $ 100-$ 200 in revenue down the drain for them. If I’m up before noon, sure I’ll come here again for a great coffee. But after noon, not going to risk it. I’ll just make coffee at home. Regardless of my displeasure, I’m giving C&T four stars because thei coffee is good.

Hell Yes! Last couple times I was here, the coffee was excellent. The shots were flawless and my cappuccino was excellent. Well Done Indeed!!!

Recommended by a barista at Influx in Little Italy we headed to this place before heading out of SD and glad we did. This is definitely a hipster coffee shop, serving 3 single origin coffees. I am that coffee snob who refused to drink coffee from 7 – 11 or McDonald’s. I’d rather drink coffee from Starbucks or Peets. I’d ultimately prefer to have a pour over coffee places who knows how to brew a coffee just right with the correct grind of beans and water quantity and temperature. It makes a huge difference in taste. And I actually don’t need to douse my coffee with loads of creamer and sugar. So this is why I seek out the hipster coffee places to get a strong and tasty cup of coffee. The prices are reasonable to that of a latte or frappuccino at Starbucks without all that added sugar.

Have to try to avocado toast. So good. Nice spot. Shares space with a juice bar. Good roast, staff has been great, atmosphere is worth a visit. Been here many times. Will be back. I’ve only been to the North Park location once. It was nice. I prefer the downtown location.

Love this location even more than the one on El Cajon. While I find the other one a little cold and not somewhere I’d like to curl up with a cup of joe, this east village spot is just the opposite. Great coffee and a mix of wood and industrial elements makes it just my cup o’ tea when it comes to great java spots. Just wish I was downtown more to enjoy the good vibes.

This coffee stop shares space with a smoothie place called Juice Saves. They have really good music playing in the background and inside the shop feels very much like an open air place. Super clean premises and serving area made me feel like they care about my health as much as selling me coffee. There is a very basic simple menu here, and pretty much all the selections are good. This place serves a pretty young crowd, but don’t let that scare you away. They do great coffee here. Just be sure to feed the meters outside or you will be drinking $ 45.00 coffee!!! Yes, I found out the hard way.

I had high expectations for this place as it had been on my bookmarks for the longest time, but I was pretty disappointed with the quality of the coffee. Overall, the place had really cozy vibes: a mix of urban downtown with earth-y elements so anyways, yeah… good for chilling or just catching up on work(wifi, outlets, etc.) On to my disappointment, we ordered a cold brew and a mocha. The cold brew was really interesting as it came out of a tap! It was pretty solid as it was smooth yet bold. I liked it. But man the mocha was just un-drinkable. The beans were underroasted so the drink just tasted grassy and nasty and all sorts of throw-up worthy elements. Waste of money and tastebuds. Hands down one of the worst cups of coffee I’ve had in my life…

Stopped in early on a Sunday morning when the place was empty. This place is serious about their coffee and tea. They want to make sure you get a good beverage that satisfies your specific taste. They barista was very informative when we weren’t sure what we wanted to order. The world needs more small specialty places like this.

The space is cool and carefully curated to set a certain vibe and feel. Looks aside, their coffee is only alright. Coffee tastes burnt and sour. Latte(with almond milk) tasted stale and flat. Looks aren’t everything I guess.

Stopped in for an afternoon pick me up — I had the herbal iced tea and my sister had iced coffee(both very satisfying). The space is bright, open, and seemed to be a good place to grab your laptop and work– very quiet and low key. The barista was very friendly, helpful and efficient. I am definitely coming back here soon.

Coffee and Tea Collective is hands down my favorite coffee shop in San Diego. Located in the heart of East Village, Coffee and Tea Collective flaunts chill vibes, an open atmosphere, friendly workers, and quality coffee. Definitely going to become a regular. Also, it is conveniently attached to Juice Saves, which is a cold pressed, all natural juice bar, so you can get your daily fix of acai bowl while simultaneously fueling your coffee addiction! A win, win!

This place looked so promising. My man and I came to San Diego for the night and I was excited to find this place. Cookie was crumbly and dry. Cinnamon toast was average. And the coffee was bitter. Also the tables were filled with people writing their first novel on their laptops. There wasn’t any music playing and it just wasn’t very inviting.

Okay I’ll admit that this review is a little bit skewed by the fact that it was a really cold and windy day and they definitely have the open airy vibe going on with the wide open garage door type entryway. Also the tea was pretty overpriced and you didn’t get a lot for your money. But I would still give it three stars because it’s a pretty cool interior and the staff is really friendly. I would give it another chance on a nicer day

Having been a fan of the original Coffee & Tea Collective location in North Park, I was excited to see this new space in the East Village. I was not disappointed. I love the open space, half dedicated to fresh juices while the other is for coffee and tea. The two areas are divided by a long table. For people who don’t drink coffee, this is a perfect symbiosis. As for myself, I’m a coffee fanatic so I’ll take the«&» side of the business anyday. I went with a basic latte, which was done perfectly. At the end of the cup, they congratulate you on finishing such a tremendous product with a «well done.»(See pictures below). I ended up buying one of their cool mugs to commemorate my visit. Well done yourself«&.»

Great space, awesome energy! Love how it’s a shared space with the juice place. Wide open air space, love the wall of windows that open everything up to the street. Had the Hibiscus sparkling tea which was amazing, just wish I had more time to hangout!

I really like this new addition to East Village. These guys make some excellent espressos, terrific pour overs, and offer a selection of great teas as well. The employees are always up beat, friendly, and willing to discuss with patrons about their products preparation and methods. I’ve had their espresso, pour overs, and on this particular visit and herbal tea. The herbal tea was great and I liked the way they offered instructions on how to maximize the best flavor from the herbs. The tea had a mild aromatic and mild flavor as well. I liked that it was smooth without any hint of bitterness. While I was there, I was able to take advantage of their free WiFi and limited but comfortable seating and tables to get some work done, all while enjoying me hot herbal tea. So, if you find yourself in East Village, and you are in need of a pick me up or a relaxing herbal tea, check this place out.

Love the location next to Juice Saves. Juice places don’t serve coffee. But I was able to get both a banana almond morning bowl and a coffee. My latte was perfect. Bold coffee, thick foam, and sweet design. Service was great. It was a $ 4 latte, but that’s the going rate, I guess… I don’t do it everyday, so it’s a nice treat.

Best of both worlds, C&T’s new location is shared with Juice Saves, so your morning cravings will be satisfied whether you’re craving creamy caffine or fresh pressed juices. I love the minimalist décor and wide-open store front. The entire space is filled with sunlight. A long bar stretches across the center, seperating the coffee and juice sides. The menu is simple, and your only substitute for whole milk is almond milk. I think I’m okay with that. Service is quick and friendly, and I can easily see myself hanging out with friends here or plopping down to get some work done.

A collaboration: the passionate pursuit of perfectly prepared potations of Coffee & Tea Collective and the creative commitment to concept of Consortium Holdings. This former home of Java Jones once again provides an oasis of quality beverages, sharing the space with Juice Saves. C&T on 9th serves up the same beautifully crafted C&TC espresso drinks(cappuccinos, gibraltars, lattes) with a choice milks. The slow bar(for now?) has been replaced by airpots to serve the hurried downtown crowd. Flavor has not been sacrificed as the pour-over brewer gets the most out of the CT&C Freese-roasted beans. The décor also combined the minimal design of C&TC with CH’s love for the special antiquated touches. Floating log shelves, reclaimed wood bars, art school stools, succulents terrariums. It is missing the overstuffed leather couches of the previous tenant; putting the focus on a place for community interaction instead of a space for comfortable isolation. For opening day, I had a cappuccino($ 3.50) and then a Kenya AA drip coffee(10oz, $ 3) to go. That’s how I do Presidents’ Day.
