Smelled like someone passed gas as soon as we walked in. Smell faded away, but I think it was more because we became adjusted to it. The staff here is incredibly sweet, the Starbucks was pretty empty(Friday night) and they were quick. Ordered my regular Chai Latte and came out as expected.

Excellent as coffee houses are a great venue to work and recharge! I’ve been around the block with patronage at coffee houses! Perhaps growing up in Pacific Northwest influences my love of coffee houses! Yet the ones which are diverse, with arts, catch my interest! All humans are equal! I love all parts of San Diego. East Village is the first area that resonates with my soul. True my ultimate home will be with zGod in heaven and on earth with a partner. For now, East Village offers the best of what I love: diversity! This Starbucks reflects the essence of East Village! On the day I visited very friendly teAm of Starbucks hard at work! Friendly and helpful! So the A is for what they earned today! It could be fair to say this is my favorite Starbucks to date, yet I go back some more and confirm! Tons of seating, clean, all the good Starbucks drinks! Only thing missing, as some Starbucks offer, the wine and beers! Soon we pray for those beverages here too, local San Diego beers! Great job! With holidays coming visit here in between shopping and tip big the employees, to be in spirit of giving! True all beliefs equal, yet for me good luck blessing to say zGod bless here the whole team!

This starbucks is in my building making it super convenient. The people there are very nice and even though sometimes there are tons of people, they seem to keep everything moving quickly and with smiles!

I’m updating because the morning baristas in particular Javi have been amazing. I’m usually there at least 3 times a week and have my order down. They’re always friendly and haven’t gotten more familiar with the regular 5 Am’ers

Bad customer service. Late night girls are too social with each other vs helping customers. It feels like your bothering them.

Starbucks is Starbucks. No need to go into detail on the coffee and food; we’ve all had it. The staff here is energetic, helpful, and friendly. Quick service. Bathrooms are clean. Now, The reasons why I will never – at present, at least – give any Starbucks more than a 3-star review: 1) The name thing. I don’t like giving my name, and I especially don’t like the staff starting conversations with me by name. It reeks of phoniness. I’m in the restaurant business, and until I get to know a guest, I would never use their name. It reeks of phoniness… THISISNOT A NEGATIVETOWARDTHESTAFF… the staff, I’m sure, is encouraged to do this. I’m sure a lot of them don’t like it any more than me… DEARSTARBUCKSCORPORATE: STOP!!! 2) The slimeball factor. Starbucks accomodates all manner of folks, which is fine. I have no problem sitting next to a down-on-their-luck person. But Starbucks pretty much looks the other way while people act like animals at times… and don’t get me started on the bathroom policy… it is downright insulting, as someone who has just forked over my hard-earned bucks, to have to wait in line behind people who haven’t, sometimes several of them. All in all, though, the East Village Starbucks has earned the highest score I would bestow on any Starbucks.

I went in to get drinks for me and a friend, with him having to have the more complicated just posted on FB drink. He wanted a coconut Frap, well they had to literally pull the recipe card out to figure out how to make it. After looking at the ingredients they said that it was a no go, I was fine with that Bc I did go in with a backup drink to order. No sooner had I finished paying did the creators say they were going to make the coconut drink! She was all confident about it too! I was amazed about the above and beyond customer service here. While my friend ended up not liking the drink, I was still thankful that they did figure out how to make it :)

Super friendly staff, always happy to help, and the coffee is perfect! Jill, Britt, Sean, and Tamera always take great care of us! They are always pleasant and they remember exactly what I want every time I walk in. This is one of the good ones, I highly recommend to anyone.

I ordered a strawberries and crème frappucino. I waited but my name was never called. After waiting a while I saw it on the counter. When I went to pick it up, the barista said my name was smudged so they left it on the counter. The didn’t offer to remake it. By the time I got home it was frappucino juice having melted.

Its a Starbucks. You know what you’re getting. But I went into this location one morning and instead of getting my usual cup of drip coffee I thought I would try one of their latte creations. They were promoting one new sugary creation and I asked the barista if it was any good. Homegirl looked me right in the eyes and said, «No.» Now THAT is my kind of customer service. Honest, knowledgeable and succinct. I asked her what she liked and she made me her white chocolate latte, which was crazy good. That barista was no joke.

It was not my first time here but every time I come to this Starbucks I have a feeling that most staff are rude, look at me head to toe, no smile, kinda force smile not natural. Coffee taste awful cuz they made with no soul. I gave them chance, so many chances but I guess I am done with this one. I like the one at Albertsons better, staff well-train, well-customer services, coffee tastes great. or I’d rather go across the street and get Tom’s ;(

I’d have the say that one of the best Starbucks locations on the West Coast other than one in Santa Barbara, CA. One of the employees named Sean was such a good gentleman and by memory, he’d happen to know what you like to drink. he was very polite but that goes for everyone working there. Love the employees at this location. He always knew what green tea I’d wanted with honey even before I can open my mouth. Giving that a score of A+++ Everyday I had to go there due to Hi International Hostel Wi-Fi down the street was amazingly slow but everyday for the ext 12 days while I was in San Diego, felt at ease and happy to be in a Starbucks for once. But it wasn’t just Sean but everyone at the 10th and Market location for treating people with kindness even when a customer or three were not so kind to you but were just flat right out RUDE. You guy deserve bonus in a pay raise.(^_*) But I was sad to leave today back to France but I’ll visit again in the future for sure and hope the same people are still at this location.

Starbucks is so convenient but it isn’t my favorite coffee. I wish they had more options for milk/cream. It would be nice if they offered almond milk or unsweetened soy milk. Their soy milk is vanilla flavored and high sugar. I do love this starbucks, the employees are amazing and it is very convenient. It is in a great location!

There are more times than I can count that I’ve had an issue here — they are either out of green tea, or the cashiers take forever and seem not properly trained. Today was the worst — no green tea, plus their receipt machine was broken so they tried to give me a handwritten receipt for a(large) gift card purchase. Seriously?! I can’t turn in a handwritten receipt to my company for reimbursement. There’s a Starbucks on every corner so it looks like it’s time for me to take my business elsewhere. They need to get it together at this location. Unacceptable!

Stopped by for a drink and although the workers were pretty quick at getting customers in and out, the cashier didn’t repeat my order, give me a receipt or offer to fix my incorrect drink.

I loved the location of this Starbucks being off of the main area heading into the bolsa park and near the san deigo zoo. it is located directly next to a Starbucks. Which was lovely! So I could get my nutritious and soul fortifying fresh squeezed juice and my babe could get the coffee frappucino. Totally melded both of our worlds and that’s why I like this location.

This morning served as a reminder of why I don’t do Starbucks anymore. Unfortunately, today is a national holiday and everything else was closed. I ask the barista at the register wearing reindeer ears if they have a Clover machine at this location. A Clover machine brews an individual cup of coffee pretty nicely, but not all Starbucks locations have them. He replies that they don’t. No big deal, like I said, I knew that not all locations have them. I then ask for an individual pour over coffee using the blonde roast. At this point, it should be pretty obvious to the barista that I’m looking for a fresh, individually prepared, cup of coffee, which tastes better than a whole pound of coffee brewed at once. Seriously, think about all that coffee just sitting there in that massive pot for who knows how long, with all the sediment settling towards the bottom, making each cup inconsistent in quality. There’s a reason why they don’t brew a massive batch of espresso and use it as they need it, right? Anyways, instead of taking my order he tells me that they have their whole selection of roasts already brewed right now. What ever happened to the customer, who’s business keeps the doors open and the staff employed, being able to order what they want? Fortunately, another employee behind him who was listening in to start the next drink realized he wasn’t being customer-centric and stepped in, saying she could make an individual pour over for me. I do realize that some may think this complaint may be «petty» or that I’m a coffee«snob», but every single person looking at ratings on Unilocal is doing so to steer clear of anything low quality. With that mindset then, is everyone who looks for good quality a snob? Of course not.

Decent Starbucks location and awesome staff — I come here and buy a jar of Vanilla Rooibos Tea and often times, the girls will just comp a venti rooibos tea with my order. I love that, and its what keeps me shopping here. I think this location is better for grab-and-go because its always really busy. With that said, if you’re desperate to find a Starbucks downtown to sit and work at, you’ll have a better chance at finding a seat here than the Starbucks on 4th Ave — the 4th ave location is smaller and even busier than this one.

I rarely give 5 stars to a Starbucks but the differentiating point in this one is the service. I went to the Tom & Tom new Korean coffeshop the other day but my companion is more a Starbucks fan and wanted a latte and also we were shopping for nice mug to buy(as for some reason they don’t last a lot in our hands). Even if it was kind of late at night, everybody was super friendly. The lady cleaning the flooring was helping us to select the perfect mug(a very nice brownish-silverish) and we stayed there for a while to have our drinks as well and the temperate was nice(not freezing like in other Starbucks), plus every person who entered in the coffee shop was greeted by the ladies working there, like very cohesive neighborhood. I liked that, the attention was warmer than the coffee.
