Convivio Society

The ¹¹⁄₁₅ winetasting with live music, Hors d’Oeurves, coffee and dessert was outstanding and awesome. I think the trio played like an hour longer than scheduled and they were great! You missed a great time.

I have been waiting for Convivio Society to be open for a while. What a great way to know the history of Italians in San Diego and their influence in the tuna industry that shaped the Little Italy we know today, as well as their cultural impact in our city (I am an adopted San Diegan but feeling like mine). I think this center is going to be a great gathering place for all things Italian in town. I am very excited to see what they are coming up with. For now, I was just happy to check their photo exhibition, one black&white about charming old photos of the fishing industry during the 50s and 60s. The other one, very glam, oversize portraits of actresses, including of course Sofia Loren! We were late there, so there were almost closing and I could not enjoy a fresh cup of coffee from Café Barbera offered there. I took several brochures with info related to Italian classes and other cultural activities. I wish them success!
