As a person that works a block way I love the coffee and the staff. They knew my name by the first month and iv learned all their names as well. Not just smiles but great hospitality. Thanks folks!

Their location at the ballpark is amazing, the space is cool and modern, they have awesome espresso machines, tea infusers, and automated pour over machines! And the breakfast was awesome. Chorizo hash with sunny side up eggs and hash browns with arugula salad, don’t know what else I needed, it was great! Got the darkest/boldest pour over, think it was Colombian, and it was great also! Love this new place!

Very friendly staff. Great location! Awesome menu of drinks and small entrees. Great iced coffee if you’re in a rush and need a jolt. Awesome for pre workout if you’re heading in for a workout at fit.

I love, love, love this place! All the staff was so excited to share their coffee knowledge with us. I enjoyed hearing about the loose leaf tea brewing procedure. They have special siphon /press machines. I had the apricot tea it was as enjoyable watching it being made as it was drinking it,(and it was yummy!) I also had a very good mocha. It is clear that they make their own chocolate sauce, and it was confirmed by the barista, Sean. The pastries come from various providers and all were very good quality.(our group tried almost all of them.) Copa Vida is located on the backside the the Park at Petco Park. What an enjoyable place for people watching. I can’t wait to go back and enjoy a handcrafted coffee by baristas who clearly love what they do.

Neat coffee shop with a decent view of downtown. It has an outdoor/indoor patio type attachment to the side of the building. Strong latte and real foamy just as I like it. Pricey coffee as the latte ran me over $ 5 after tip but its worth it. If you walk outside a couple hundred yards you can get a great view of Petco Park and the Tony Gwynn statue.

one of the very best coffee shops in San Diego! little pricey but such a treat. coming here is the ultimate experience: location is great(next to petco park), love the aesthetic(so pretty!!!), excellent service(truly care about you and will make sure your drink is perfect) & yummy coffee, tea, and food! dine in and catch up with a pal or grab a cup to go and walk around the gorgeous area! :-) oh and their baristas are crazy talented! they’re trained extremely well!

My first time here and the ambience is amazing. Nice and clean and enough room if you want to eat, meet, or study. Their tea machines looks cool and I love how they serve their in-store teas. They have a good choice of teas which I really like. If youre lucky, their biracial black guy and their Asian guy server is a good look too. Sip on that tea as they crunk that coffee machine. Really bad distraction if youre studying. But if you go back for more tea, there is a discount. Just go back for the view closer.

I’m inclined to give 5 stars, EXCEPT that I cannot come in here for a quick grab n go latte– there WILL be a wait. On the weekends when I’m lounging with my hubby, in no hurry, that’s great. We *try to* find seats in time to sit for when our food arrives. I LOVE the croque madam(oh, just GET it!) And the chicken salad is so good too. We also love the French Toast(classic). The coffee and chai lattes are freakin delicious, and they Know what they are doing when it comes to the homemade vanilla syrup and steaming almond milk. Bottom line– we come because the food and drink are excellent, but 4 stars because of how hectic it can get, ESPECIALLY if there are more than 2 people in your party.

Awesome place. Great selection of coffee and tea. Very open space. Food is great. Customer service is great. The only areas I can think of for improvement is for them to have a breakfast/brunch menu on weekends with the breakfast burritos and potentially other egg options they offer during the week. Add that and I would update my rating to 5 stars Also, the signage on the outside is barely visible. Perhaps they have limitations around what the building allows but I’m sure they have more options.

This was a «Hot New Business» within walking distance to Hotel Indigo where I was staying so I had to go try it. There is no signage outside yet, but it is located in a corner and it is open and very inviting, with a modern industrial look. I had a Delicious and aromatic London fog– earl gray with milk and a zucchini bread that was soft and sweet. Portions are on the smaller side. The zucchini bread was small and although my tea was in a ceramic cup and they gave me a bit more in a shot glass to refill, when I asked them to transfer to a «to go» cup, the cup was not even filled to the top.

I had the dragon well lung ching green tea(pic attached), and it was delicious! You can add some honey and/or agave as well. The whole process of them making it was cool to see, plus I loved how they gave me a little pitcher to pour more tea into my cup! I loved the high ceilings and modern décor here, and how everything(including the bathroom) was so immaculately clean! This is a great place to chill, do some work, and get your drink on.

Coffee, breakfast, ambiance… absolutely perfect. Their bacon especially, was the best I ever had. It was so good, I had to buy more bacon to go! I also had their french toast &baked egg. My husband had the chorizo hash. We had no complaints. Definitely coming back!

Several of Copa Vida’s brown coffee /tea jugs were delivered to our office. The Cold Brew Coffee was rather interesting as it seemed less bitter than traditional iced coffee. The Hibiscus tea was refreshing and reminded me of the iced tea served at the Big Sky Café in SLO. In summation, I think bringing a jug of tea or cold brew coffee to work(or someone’s house) is a pretty cool gesture. It’s unique.

This place is dope. Awesome teas, coffees and food. Best of all the interior has high ceilings, great natural light and garage doors that open up to creat an open feeling. All the staff are chill, nice and professional. If you’re in the hood come by for a quick sip.

It is a nice looking spot that is airy and kinda minimalist. I came here for brunch and while I didn’t need to use the Wifi, I did see that they do not offer free wifi during the weekends. I understand that they don’t want people just posting up and crowding the place but it seems a bit trifling. I got a mocha and it was good, not the best I have had but not the worst by any means. I figured it would be magical the way they go on and on about their coffee but there you have it. I ordered brunch and it took sooooo long to come out. I seriously was at the point where I was going to just leave because I had already finished my mocha which I sipped very slow to try to have it with my meal. The food was good, but not memorable. Overall it is pretty expensive and judging on reviews can be hit or miss. Don’t come here for breakfast if you are hungry. The waiting will make you not very pleasant company!

My confession: I was not psyched when I found out this place came to SD. I did not care at all. Sorry, CV. I had no good reason to not be happy, I just think the market is saturated, and isn’t the Pasadena location enough? I was wrong. CV fits right in here. But Copa Vida found its niche, I suppose. East Village doesn’t really have much in the«good coffee/café» department, so this place fits the bill. It is open and airy and about 1 step from Petco Park(read: sometimes, parking will be a nightmare). So far as menu options go, they have a ton! They offer salad and sandwiches, cookies, pastries, etc, as well as a giant tea and coffee menu! I believe they roast their own beans, but don’t quote me on that. They are not on my roaster radar because I am all too obsessed with Bird Rock to pay attention. I opted for the cold brew, which I usually don’t like so why did I order that? But I actually enjoyed it very much and would do it again. I think all in all, this place doesn’t light a fire under me, but I’ll welcome it to the neighborhood because it does do a good job bringing quality coffee/tea to the hardworking folks of downtown.

!!! This place is awesome possum x283737392!!! Too bad I don’t live in SD but if I did… I would probably come everyday. No. Joke. #coffeesnob Let me first say, Copa Vida SD is definitely top 5 for most beautiful café/coffee shops… Super spacious and clean modern interior brings out goood vibes just to hang out with friend or to study on your own!(They also have bomb wifi too, that’s always a plus, right?! Ain’t no body got time for spotty wifi…) Now onto the coffee… Clean tasting cold brew. One of the best that I’ve tasted(and I’ve tasted many cold brews in my life) The vanilla latte was good too! They make their own vanilla syrup which means no preservatives and artificial flavoring! Woooohoooo. They sell/bake fresh pastries and foods! So sad that I was too full from lunch but I would definitely love to try out their Croque Madame next time. Okay, now service puts the cherry on the top. Friendly baristas + staff members + professional/well organized management… They made sure the coffee tasted good and asked me if I needed anything/questions while I was looking at all cool mugs/growlers at the shop! Sigh, good coffee shops like these make me want to move to SD or wish I studied a little harder so I could’ve gone to UCSD. LOL… Oh well, thank God there’s a closer Copa Vida(Pasadena) to me! Overall, I’ll be definitely coming back for them good vibes whenever I do make it out to SD! Everyone should go check it out if you’re in DTSD!

I love this new spot in East Village. Forever the sign said it was going to open and nothing ever did and then it seemed like magically overnight Copa Vida came to fruition. The décor is beautiful and filled with people on their laptops or chatting with friends for a relaxed, coffee shop vibe. The service is friendly and the drinks are carefully prepared. Who doesn’t love a pretty design on their latte or an adorable tea set to enjoy on a lazy afternoon or a much needed break from the day? I’ve only tried their cauliflower soup so far, but I’m always tempted by the pastries on the counter. For now, I like it as a caffeinated addition to downtown.

Heard about this new coffee shop opening in East Village, and had to check it out. I loved it from the moment I walked in! The interior is beautiful. Very clean and spacious, with good seating. Love the high ceilings & wide windows. They have somehow combined a hipster & modern vibe together perfectly. I am a tea fanatic, and I was very impressed by their assortment of green teas. One of the best cups of tea I’ve had. My friend who is a coffee fanatic was equally happy with her latte. We have been on a long hunt to find the perfect study café in San Diego(we’ve gone to some horrible ones). I think we’ve finally found it here at Copa Vida! Good space, good wifi, great drinks and great staff. The baristas really know their stuff, and even the guys in the kitchen were super kind when I spilled two cups of water on the floor(aha…) Definitely recommend Copa Vida if you’re looking for a place to study, or a quality cup of coffee. I am so glad this place opened in SD!!! Copa Vida, you will be seeing me a lot!

This just opened up this weekend on the North end entrance to the Park in the Park at Petco Park on the heard to J Street. Copa Vida is known for their terrific espressos and coffees, but did you know that they bake their own rustic white bread and knead it by hand. I had the opportunity to try it when I ordered the Croque Madame for brunch for $ 10. The Croque Madame came with a single egg on top smothered with a rich and creamy Bernaise sauce, with savory Black Forest ham, sweet caramelized onions, tomato, and Swiss cheese all on that wonder rustic thick house made slice of bread. I asked for the egg to be cooked to a medium hard and the chef hit it on the money. The egg was great, but the black forest ham was no slacker. It had a nice crispy exterior and moist savory center. The Bernaise was fantastic with its very rich and creamy texture and outstanding flavor. It had a hint of vinegar, herbs and most importantly, subtle flavors of white wine. I was very fond of the rustic white bread. I usually go for wheat or multi-grain, but this one was well worth it. It had an excellent crust on the outside, given they bake it in a cast iron pan and its center was moist with some good air bubbles. You may be thinking it’s just bread, but the quality of the bread is a key component in a successful Croque Madame and this one was on point. I was very pleased with the quality of my meal, the excellent friendly service, and the open and comfortable atmosphere. I look forward in returning to try their extensive espresso menu and some more eats as well. It is all about eats for me!
