Costco Tire Center

Wow. I was going to buy a set of 4 tires for my RAV4 but the guy on the phone hung up on me after assuring me that they have lots of tires in stock so reserving (and even paying) for the tires in advance would not be necessary (apparently they don’t do this at Costco but you can pre-​pay online). Needless to say, I am looking elsewhere for tires. I recommend Morena, if you want a more customer friendly experience. The only reason I called Mission Valley was because Morena did not have my tires in stock. Oh well… there are plenty of tire shops out there to choose from. Guess I won’t be using Costco for this set.

After the factory stock tires on my Corvette wore prematurely due to excessive negative camber dialed in on the assembly line, I had an excellent alignment done at Bob Stall Chevrolet. While waiting, the service writer gave me an unbelievably low price on two replacement tires. However, I noted that the tires he quoted were not runflats. (Corvettes do not carry a spare, and runflats are strongly advised.) I asked him, what would happen if I got a flat? He just shrugged – Not his problem. Well, it won’t be mine either. When the alignment was done to my satisfaction, I drove right over to Costco’s Tire Center in Mission Valley.
The car takes 245/​40R18 tires, not an everyday size, that’s for sure. So, the two Bridgestone Potenza runflat tires I wanted were ordered at a price lower than I could find anywhere in San Diego. About 5 days later, the tires came in, I got the call, and drove to Costco. The tires were mounted and balanced in less than an hour. I am extremely happy and will replace the rears when needed with the same brand and at the same place.
Oh, and they gave a free nitrogen fill not only for the new front tires, but also the rear tires. That was really nice.
When needed I will have them balanced under the lifetime balance warranty. Later model Corvette tires can’t be rotated due to different size wheels, front and rear, and unidirectional tires.
I have had my other performance cars shod here, and will return whenever I need new tires. The price was excellent, and the service flawless. Believe me, when it comes to my cars, I am very picky.

I actually had wonderful service here. Some bimbos with a really bad dye job decided to rudely cut me in line and just start speaking to the tire service guy in broken engrish about their car… The wonderful tire associate politely pointed out that I had been patiently waiting before they even got there. Of course they got snippy and started speaking in mandarin (bad move… my parents and I may have been speaking Vietnamese and Cantonese before they rudely cut me… but surprise bitches! We also speak mandarin). Anyway… the tire associate handled the situation very professionally and even effectively managed my difficult mother’s expectations. My jeep was finished in a timely manner and I had no issues with their services. This is the second set of Michelins they’ve put on my jeep and I will continue to use them for new tires on all of our vehicles.

I would give this Tire center zero star if I could. I came here around 6pm during a weekday to repair my flat tire, the sale reps told me they won’t fix it because my tires are stock tires and not Costco’s tires. He told me to go Discount Tire which is about 5miles away, and he will give me some air into my flat tire. I told him my tire got punctured by a big screw not a small nail, I wouldn’t be able to go out of the parking lot. The sale reps told me he couldn’t help me, seems like he did not want to help me because it’s almost closing time (in 2 hrs). So I contacted my friend, who is a manager at a different Costco’s tire center, he said they would fix the tire for everyone, as long as they bring their tire to Costco. Btw, I’m a Costco member. I would go to his Costco if it’s not 45 minutes away from where I am. So I contacted the VP of Costco via email. Received their response the next day, told me they were suppose to fix my tire with no excuses. The VP also asked me for the sale reps name which I did not get. Btw thanks to SANDAG who changed the tire for me, and Discount Tire fixed my tire for free. I hope this Costco management team will read this review, and re-​train their tire center staffs.

I came in for a flat repair… would have been great if they didn’t break my window, mangle my regulator and door frame, as well as put a three inch gash in my leather seat. They are now refusing to help me with the problem. As a student, I don’t have $ 400 cash lying around to fix someone else’s mistakes. I went back into the branch today and (maybe because I’m a young female) was told that this was MY problem and that it was MY fault somehow and they were unwilling to offer assistance. An admin from the branch approached me and accused me of lying and making up stories. She proceeded to tell me a completely fabricated version of what happened and then insisted that this was all a scheme on my part. Absolutely UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE and CLASSLESS. Now I have to deal with corporate — I can’t drive my car until the door and window are fixed. Don’t waste your time at this place… your time and money are better spent at a shop with at least an ounce of integrity.
UPDATE: the local auto shop that handles damages done here is unwilling to be fair with the customers in fear of losing Costco’s damaged-​business — DONT GO TO THE SHOP THEY OFFER

Went here for tires and didn’t get any, but only because the guy didn’t recommend anything they had for my car. He gave me all the information I needed to get the right tires somewhere else! Very decent :)

I have gone in twice this year with my front tires wearing down — Costco TIre Center — at least this one, was so helpful — both visits. They are friendly, informative & really great about giving you choices. I went in yesterday — and they were awesome. I felt like they went out of their way to be helpful.

Very unhappy ordered tires then the wrong ones were shipped. Ordered online and put in correct information. Have to wait another 4 – 5 days!

I’ll never come here for tires again. Thx to Anthony for making me waste my time there. Came here to get tires a month ago and was told to come back for the discount on Bridgestone tires, came back and was told these Michelin x-​radials were a better fit (got this long story. Blah blah) and that they were on sale in dec so I actually came on the day he told me to and he was at the desk. However, he doesn’t remember me and says the tires are on sale dec30-​jan25 (checks his email and everything. Blah blah) and that I should come back for it.
I change my mind and decide to fck the discount. I been waiting too long, let’s just get it done. He services other people ahead of me, then goes to the back, comes back and he doesn’t even have the tires in stock. wTF. So, he refers me to the costco in la Mesa. Talk about being trolled. (I walk out)
I recommend if u need tire services, you go elsewhere. I used Unilocal and found a lot of other great places. On top of that, I asked other people about the tires this dude was recommending and they questioned why he would recommend these xradials since they are mainly street tires. I got that from a lot of the other companies I called.

My poor car got lost in the shuffle! Been here many times to get tires, tire rotation and balance. Blame the solar eclipse? Sure, whatever! NOT! I don’t get why I arrived at 4:30 ish, was told my car may be ready in an hour more or less, then find it still sitting with the numbered cone on top of it nearly an hour and twenty minutes later. One of the employee’s who helped me find out what happened apologized and said that my car was lost in the shuffle. He said if I hadn’t asked about it when I did, it would probably not get done until later. Good thing my plans from earlier, fell through. Glad I didn’t have anything else planned later in the evening. Such an inconvenience, but now I know better than to go late in the afternoon on a week day. I usually go when they first open in the morning to get it over with. This experience won’t deter me from continuing to get my tires rotated and balanced here. I just have to schedule my time accordingly.

Needed tires and since we love costco, why not get tires from here?! Good choice! We bought the tires, paid for them, they were put on in 30 minutes. They were all so nice, even though they were very busy. Another excellent Costco trip!

Got a flat tire and came by this location as it was close to my work. All four of my tires were purchased at Costco with a lifetime warranty. In past years that warranty has come in handy as I’ve had a flat tire before which was patched at no charge. Well, they said this was the sidewall and could not be patched. Um, really? Of course he pushed for the purchase of a new tire then after walking around my truck said I needed all 4 (I don’t btw, there’s plenty of life left). But when he checked his inventory, they had nothing in stock but would gladly special order them. Of course you can! But yeah, no. I of course wouldn’t be so glad to pay nearly $ 600 bucks for some tires I don’t actually need. Thanks anyway. Oh and btw… my boyfriend patched the tire and it’s all good. Thanks for nothing guys.

DO NOT GO HERE!!! I went in to get an estimate on a wednesday and they made me an appt for saturday. The guy assured me they have my tires in stock at all times. He then gave me the quote and set me up with an appt. I arrived a little earlier than my scheduled appt time at 11am to find out the guy wasn’t even there for my appt. the workers told me he wasn’t coming to work until 1:30pm. The other workers were very frantic trying to help fix this guy’s big mistake. They didn’t even have my tires in stock! The worst part about this was the guy that originally helped me was the manager Paul!!! One of the most awful experiences ever and such an inconvenience!

Great service and prices. We always get our tires fixed here and fiancé says batteries here are great quality with good warranty too. They even let us borrow their tools to replace our battery.
Only thing is wait can be long due to only one person behind desk.
