Disappointing. Great service, not great food. My «carne asada burrito» consisted of a tortilla wrap with chunks of mediocre steak… nothing else. No rice, no beans, no sauce, as plain as it gets. My rolled tacos were not tacos but resembled the flavorless crusty tortilla sticks from the day before that you find roasting on the counter at 7 – 11 at midnight. With that being said the staff was super friendly, fast, nice(hence the 2 stars). Hey guys, try throwing some fixins on the food and it’d be just fine! When I order a burrito I expect sauce and rice and get sad when it’s not there.

I ordered chicken rolled tacos specifically with Guacamole. They were served with avocado sour cream with very little avocado. Neither the cashier or the menu mentioned anything about sour cream on these. The salsa bar salsas were very ‘watered down’ and not a lot of flavor to them, excluding the chipoltle which was pretty good. I also ordered a bean and cheese burrito which came with very little cheese and mostly tortilla. The beans were just not ‘authentic mexican’ tasting. they honestly tasted like can refried beans and it was a very small scoop of beans compared to the giant tortilla. Not to be completely negative, the tortilla was good and the chicken rolled tacos were good minus the sour cream that I didn’t order.

Decent establishment for when I’m not in the mood to drive to Cotixan, prices are similar to any other taco shop, service is grim but nothing bad. I’ve only had a few items from the menu, all of them being pretty good. They have bean & cheese burritos for like $ 1.39(?) on Sunday’s and Tuesday’s which is a steal because they’re pretty big. I ordered 3 one time — big mistake LOL. Their quesadillas are cheesy goodness, really oily but what do you expect. Now onto my favorite burritos of all time, breakfast burritos. Lemme make this clear, their breakfast burritos are good but for the price, they are SO skimpy with the fillings. It’s ridiculous but I can’t say it’s awful cause it’s still good. Just be warned, don’t expect a super filling breakfast burrito cause theirs are far from one.

Been going here with my family since I was a child, now I go take my own kids and they love it. Cotija’s bean burrito is my boys’ favorite meal on planet Earth. Love this spot. Go!

Do not get a California Burrito from here. Absolute worst one I have had. All it was was dried up over cooked french fries barely any meat or anything else.

OH. MY. GAWD. FISHBURRITO. That is all. You welcome. Kidding. But seriously, this taco shop is the bomb-dot-com. We were visiting family in San Diego and ordered a pick up. It was love at first bite. Since the introductory first meal throughout my visit we continuously ordered the glorious Mexican food. Returning to Sacramento, my memories of the true love I experienced in San Diego a.k.a.the fish burrito haunts me. I have no choice but to surfer in my cravings for a good sea food themed burrito until my return. This place will never be forgotten. The fish burrito is like crack and unintentionally like the fish once was I am now hooked. The family that runs this amaze-balls place is extremely sweet, funny(thank God for humor eh?), and accommodating(changing the order without a problem when I needed to). I hope everyone experiences the magic I did with *drum roll* the fish burrito.

We’ve gone there almost once a week for over 25 years. Anything we’ve ever ordered has always been awesome. LOVE the family that owns it, they are really good people!

Slightly below average taco shop. I really don’t go here unless I am super lazy because I live very close. If I didn’t live 2 minutes away I would never have gone more than once.

I love this place! I mean I’ve only gotten the California burrito, but every single time I get it I’m happy and full. Great flavor, nice service, good consistency — I would defiantly recommend this place to a friend.

I stopped here shortly before leaving San Diego because I had heard San Diego tacos were the some of the best in California. They had some pretty good tacos at this little place and it was a nice place to stop because of the location’s view. I think there was too much shell though, but the chicken tacos I got were very delicious. Pretty good!

I’ve never been so disappointed with a Mexican food joint. Ordered a carne asada nachos and what was given was a plate of burned chips, with some sort of watered down nacho cheese, no sour cream, no real cheese, no beans, no Pico. The guacamole was more onions and tomatoes than avocado. We have given this place a few tries and every time we were disappointed. This was the final straw, nachos must be the easiest thing to make! This place needs to get it together. They just lost a large family Who would’ve been loyal customers. Bummer

Hands down best Mexican food in San Diego. Staff is super cool, always laid back and nice to you, recognizes me and jokes around. Definitely awesome environment, and as an awkward human being, I usually butcher pronunciation, but these guys and girls are too cool and don’t make me feel stupid with looks lol. I always reccomend this place to my buddies. Check them out for sure. Rolled tacos and California burrito, always my go to and its AMAZING.

Another random and horrible taco shop. First off when you walk in it seems like you are doing them a favor. The guy that takes your order seems like it takes everything out of him to ask what you would like. Then they completely get the order wrong. How hard is it to make a chicken taco that is not hard with only guacamole and cheese. They decided to make it with everything on it and hard. Also it seems like the guacamole is watered down. Then another simple thing, bean burrito. When is it considered a bean burrito if it is only the tortilla with maybe a bean paste? I will absolutely never go back to the place and now I need to find somewhere else to eat lunch since I threw away the food after one bite.

Small taco shop in the community. Decent food and prices. The staff here is always friendly and welcoming. They take call in orders too. It’s hit or miss on the crowd. A lot of locals eat here so never know if it will be busy or not. But good food at good prices.

First of all, I want to comment on Franklyn G.‘s review. While I’m sure it happened as he said, it didn’t happen here. They have no DRIVETHROUGH! With that said, the food is always great and the staff friendly. My wife and I eat here fairly regularly, and always are pleased with our meals. Their carne asada is very good and the burrito is enormous. The tostadas and beef rolled tacos are also good. The only negative is that to eat in, you might think twice if it’s hot outside. They either don’t have A/C or never turn it on. We always get our food to go for that reason. That’s the reason for 4 rather than 5 stars in the rating. As someone noted, the guac isn’t pure avocado, but it’s still tasty.

I do not know what happen today with this place because I ordered a ham, egg, and cheese breakfast burrito, but I got bacon instead, and to make it worse, they did not even scramble the eggs correctly.( ) It as if, they just quickly fried an egg and tossed on the burrito. The breakfast burrito, at $ 3.39 plus tax, could of been a lot better if they would of gotten the meat right and if they had a cook who knew how to scrambled eggs correctly. The burrito was of average size and the flour tortilla was good.( ) The burrito was basically haphazardly put together with lack of attention to detail. The flavor was mute due to the absence of seasoning. The bacon, which was suppose to be ham, was overcooked and stringy. Not good at all. Also, the service was not very good as well. While I waited to order, the guy at the cash register, who thought he was a comedian, went rambling on to a couple of people in front of me making jokes, even after he had taken their order. After I sat down, I watched him play around and try to make jokes with customers. No wonder they got my order wrong. No one is paying attention, it’s nothing but fun and games at this place. Not returning…
