I have been going to this place since 1994. Through two owners I haven’t been able to find a home style Mexican restaurant to come close to this place. Today, 12/06/2015, I stopped by after being out of town for a month and found their closed!!! I was told the over priced wine and supposed gourmet sandwich shop in the corner bought it and will be selling gourmet Mexican food. I guess it’ll be like Rubios and not really be home style Mexican food anymore. The only Home Style Mexican restaurant I like in San Diego is now gone. If anyone one knows if they have another place in town please let me know. PS, I seriously doubt Cynthia got food poisoning here. Her symptoms sounded like she ate too much.

I drove from across town for this place! Best chilaquiles I’ve ever had! It’s not even on the menu, they remember that’s what I want and it’s constantly amazing. I prefer the green to the red.

Love this place! Best neighborhood tacos. Order at the counter and seat yourself and they bring you chips and salsa. Very inexpensive and always on point. This little gem is a treasure here in Del Cerro. Super friendly staff always get your order right.

Not really Mexican food. I’ve tried several breakfast dishes and they are flavorless.

Over the last few years it’s becoming harder and harder to get a good wet Machaca burrito in San Diego with most taco shops fillin their burritos with way to much bell peppers and onions and using canned shredded beef is also becoming all too common but yesterday I found the best Machaca burrito here at LA Guadalajara than I’ve had in a long while in San Diego county. My burrito had the proper blend of ingredients and without an oversized tortilla and real good red sauce. The cook, cashier was courteous and the restaurant was one of the cleanest I’ve eaten at in a while, I will be back soon to see if they also serve a decent wet mixed burrito as well. April update, they do!

I generally don’t write reviews on Unilocal anymore, but I had to make an exception because I went to My Guadalajara today. Two words: Food poisoning. The West Coast burrito was fine(not great, but passable) but I felt weird all afternoon after eating it. Now I know why! Never again. Someone get a health inspector in there.

Typical SD taco shop. Good! Not the best but a welcome stop in this shopping center so you don’t have to fight the crowd on the SDSU side of the freeway. Cash only, no debit cards. Good salsa and fresh tips brought to your table!

They make very tasty fish taco, not fried. I enjoy eating their cheese enchiladas with side order of Spanish rice. Best find in San Diego not far from the college campus — SDSU. Oh… They give you endless chips! Lol!

A great little hole-in-the-wall taco shop. While San Diego is littered with little places like this, everyone seems to have their favorite. This one happens to be within walking distance of my in-law’s house, so I suppose I’ll claim this one as my go-to. My Guadalajara has all the staples, but I like to keep it simple, ordering an asada taco or two at a time. Their tortas are decent. Their California burrito(you know mystery meat plus french fries) is also a winner. My wife swears by their enchiladas. Their card machine seems to be eternally broken, so don’t be surprise if the clerk/cook/owner sends you to the grocery store next door to debit some cash.

Trust me I’ve had my share of rolled tacos in this town but there’s nothing special here. I did enjoy the fresh guacamole and shredded cheese but the actual meat nside the tortilla looked and tasted like blah

Okay… Nothing special really. I had their breakfast plate nothing really stood out. There was only one person taking the order, preparing the food, and running the register. Sucks they are cash only.

I come here frequently. I actually found this place on Unilocal.I needed a shop open early so I could grab a bite on my way to work. Their west coast burrito is pretty good. I order a pollo asado burrito with beans cheese and sour cream every morning and it’s ready by the time I get there. Friendly staff, great customer service. Will continue to come every morning for my fix ;)

My Guadalajara! Your Guadalajara? OUR Guadalajara! I just like saying Guadalajara, say it three times fast, it’s not that easy! But let me tell you what is easy! Liking this nice little restaurant. I used to come here every so often for dinner during my break at work. One of the first things I noticed about this restaurant is that they don’t call California burritos California burritos, oh no no no! They’re actually west coast burritos! And they’ll let you know if you use the other name which we do not mention! I’ve only had two things at the restaurant, well three if you count the endless chips and salsa that you get with your meal. The two actual orders I’ve made here are the west coast burrito, and a shrimp taco when I was feeling saucy one day. I didn’t like the shrimp taco as much, but I don’t blame that on the restaurant as shrimp is normally hit or miss for me. The west coast burrito on the other hand was pretty good! Good portion size, good price(much cheaper than the ridiculously priced Trujillo’s located closer to SDSU’s campus), and great taste. They serve it with a thicker cut sort of fry, and add more fresh ingredients into the mix. I like to pair the burrito with their red sauce. It’s a bit tangier than some of the other salsas I’ve had, but it’s a good sort of tang! Other than the food itself, the people behind the counter are also very nice. I’ve mentioned this in a number of my other reviews, but good service goes a long way to my enjoyment of food. It’s normally the same girl I see working behind the counter and she’s been nothing but nice to my coworkers and I whenever we’ve stopped by! The only thing holding me back from giving this restaurant a glowing review are the business hours. It’s been a little while since I’ve last grabbed a burrito here, but My Guadalajara closes relatively early at 8PM(on a weeknight no less!). For most day walkers this isn’t too big of a deal, but bear in mind that the local market next door closes later than that! It’s a bit of a let down, especially for those in my situation who find themselves eating dinner much later due to working later evening hours. Other than that, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit!

This place wasn’t terribly nor did it knock my socks off. We were en route to golfing and needed a quick snack/fuel. We ran in and were pleasantly greeted and proceeded to look at the above menu(which apparently is incorrect) and they guided us to the paper menu. The set up in the place is kinda janky and not very convincing when it comes to cleanliness. The people were nice and answered all questions, took our order and then brought us chips and salsa to munch on while we waited for the tacos. The salsa has great flavor and a decent amount of heat(which I enjoyed) and the chips were mediocre at best. They served their purpose until our tacos came out. The tacos were decent in size, full of meat and the onions, cilantro, etc helped balance out the flavors. Like I said before, they didn’t knock my socks off by any means, but definitely did the trick. I wouldn’t discount this place in the future, but I won’t be flying over there anytime soon. They do take credit cards, have plenty of parking and are easily accessible from the freeway.

Only go there if you are planning on gettting a california burrito or cali fries… we also love their chips and salsa. EVERYTHING else is gross unless you like very americanized and plain«mexican» food. Had their fish tacos– way too much breading and corn tortillas are not good Had their beef fried taco– meat was so dry and flavorless Had their albondigas soup– tastes like it came out of a can Tried a tostada– gross I can’t remember everything else I’ve tried, but overall it’s gross I give up, i keep looking for something I like on their menu other than the cali burrito and NODICE

I was having a crave alert for a chorizo burrito, something I only eat about twice a year. After stopping at three taco shops that were not opened at 7:30 am, I saw an open sign at this place to my relief. The all beef chorizo burrito, I need to point out, cost under $ 4 before tax and was of average size.( ) I liked that it was all beef and was filled generously with the beef chorizo and eggs.( ) The flavor was good, but the burrito needed something extra. Perhaps some cheese or sliced avocados to help cut through the hearty chorizo. All things consider, breakfast for around $ 4, it was a good deal for a good burrito. I tried their salsa and it was flavorful with a nice kick.( ). The girl was running the counter had a nice personality and was friendly. She put together a nice iced coffee for me, even though it was not on the menu.

Delicious, fresh, fast, cheap. It cost $ 15 to feed my whole family(5). Granted, my kids don’t eat that much, but I was still surprised. For example, my son(who is actually a huge eater) got a fish taco. No sides. He couldn’t finish the portion. I got 3 street tacos and was full. Smallest kid got 3 taquitos; they come with guac and cheese and lettuce. She always refuses guac but she ate this. «hey, this green stuff is delicious!» she said. Husband got carne asada burrito. Other kid got pulled beef taco and had one of the taquitos. Service took about 7 minutes, which was fine because they were cooking all that food right in front of us. We had the food to go, and they included plenty of forks & napkins for us. Plus, the lady pointed to each box and said what was inside each, so we knew they didn’t forget anything.
