This park is a fun place to go to on a date. The park itself is very mehish, but it has a cool little secret that most people don’t know about(it’s a secret, duh), but don’t fret, I will share it with you. You go to the edge of the water, and start climbing down the rocks. Make sure that there is a low tide. I am not responsible for your untimely demise in the hands of a rogue wave. So, you climb down the rocks, and you walk under the bridge and towards the water. Stop, look down and enjoy. You are now looking at crabs(no, not the itchy kind), small fishes, AND anemones. Anemones, big whoop you say, yes anemones. Awesome little plant animal thingies that hide when you touch them, and make great conversation starters for a date, or the company of your choice.

This is the best park I know of for toddlers. Or maybe I mean for parents of toddlers. The structure is low to the ground so it’s not like a typical park playground where you have to chase your kids all around the structure to make sure they don’t fall off of the 5′ and 7′ high platforms. This park has grass, sand and a fun water feature that needs to be seen to be understood(suffice to say that kids can get wet and sandy). There’s shade and sun, a view of the water and of the coronado bridge. The only negative thing from my perspective is that the navy sometimes uses this park for loud, rough self-defense practice. One time when I was there, they set up right next to the play area so the kids were mezmerized by all their punching, yelling and hitting. Even with occasional self-defense, it’s a less stressful experience than at all the other playgrounds I know of.

Good spot to dump a body or two because no one comes here at night.

This is a little public park with a waterfront view that is tucked away in Barrio Logan, in the shadow of the Coronado Bridge. It has a little pier jutting out into the Bay and an architectural style for the restrooms and play structures that looks like some misbegottoen take on «pink and aqua» 80s southwestern style. This is another nominee for coolest place to be on a hot summer day– the pier puts you right out into the water. Not someplace I’d want to be after dark.
