I have known Vor and Sue since 1985 and have NEVER had a bad meal! Tonight my wife and I decided to take a walk down memory lane and enjoy our favorite dishes Kung Pao San Yen! There is NOWHERE better for This dish. The hit and sour soup is wonderful, and their egg rolls is the best! I highly recommend Dragon. Don’t forget to check out their tea selections.

Not sure where to start… the sweet and sour pork was maybe the worse i have had in years… i do not recommend that you order it… the chow mein was very good, its the only reason why i gave it two stars…

I know this seems like a high rating for a fast food Chinese spot, but I think this review can be split into 2 categories: as a fast food Chinese spot, and as a tea house. General Notes: This is located by subway on the fenton pkwy side of the plaza. Parking is plentiful here as it sits away from the big box stores. Seating can be cramped, but I doubt they fill the space up. Chinese fast food: 3 star. You really can’t expect much from a spot competing with Panda Express. The readily available entrees were limited to less than 10 items and the fried rice option didn’t have anything mixed in. It was literally rice that’s fried in oil. Got it that’s the literal definition of fried rice, but I’m comparing to competition here! Add in some mixed veggies. The general tso’s chicken was made to order, but I doubt that was very invasive, as it came out 2 – 3 minutes once I ordered it. The portions are respectable, and the food wasn’t bad at all. It just wasn’t great. I’d come here again for a quick inexpensive meal without braving IKEA or Costco crowds. Tea House: 4 Stars for sure. I think it’s absolutely awesome they have so tea options, and I’m a huge fan of their house tea. It’s a mix of black, green, and white tea. I swear they should advertise their tea options more. They’d have a lot more people in here!

The service here is super sweet! They will customize an order which enough notice. They welcome everyone too, I’ve never been denied service because of my Service Dog(not that I should be) but they treated me with respect(many places don’t) food is inexpensive and tasty!

It is in the same plaza with Ikea and Costco. We stopped for a quick lunch because my mom has a typical Chinese stomach. However none of us three was happy with the food! 1st it does not taste fresh, more like yesterday’s leftover. 2nd it is way salty and oily. I think that way the unfreshness can be covered somehow. 3rd price is even more expensive than Panda Express. Overall I will not come back and recommend it.

Service is lacking and ownership doesn’t seem to care about it. Go elsewhere for fast food Chinese. This place will disappoint.

Mmm mmm good! This little hole in the wall brought some surprisingly great flavours tonight! Coworker and I were out looking for some ice cream and saw this place in the shopping plaza. We’ve been in San Diego for over a week and have had some horrible experiences with Chinese restaurants. Too salty, too sweet, noodles too soggy, all sorts of nonsense. We had it in our hearts to give San Diego Chinese food one last try and we’re so glad we did. They have a few pre-cooked items on display like their orange and honey chicken, kung pao chicken, beef and broccoli, you know — the standard American Chinese food. You can also get food made fresh. I ordered the yellow curry with tofu and veggies and steamed rice. It. Was. So. Good. I don’t know if it was all the bad food I had previously had that made this one taste as good as it did, but I literally just finished eating all of it and it was a pretty hefty portion. Two cups of rice and a mountain of curry. I’m so in love right now. My roomie ate all of hers, too, and so did my other coworkers that went. We planned on having some leftovers for breakfast tomorrow. That obviously didn’t work out.

Go to Costco or Ikea. You’ll waste your money here!

Our office moved in across the street from Costco and the line there was too long so I decided to give Dragon cuisine a try. Having said that, I wish I hadn’t. The food was subpar at best and I’m pretty sure my Kung Pao chicken barked at me. If your in the neighborhood and thinking of giving this place a try, don’t.

The Pearl Ice Milk tea is really good — try it! The food was not bad for a «fast serve» place.

This place was good. It was just your basic walk up order Chinese. The staff was nice and the food was what is expected from this type of restaurant. The Dragon killed my hunger.

I love, love, love the Szechwan Eggplant with Tofu; soooo tender and juicy that it just melts in your mouth. It’s mixed with bell peppers and onions, smothered in a delicious sauce. I usually get this as the Dragon bowl with fried rice.

Stopped by here on our way to IKEA. It was Chinese food so what could go wrong, right? Well… The ladies behind the counter seemed nice enough and the place was small, but clean. They have your typical a la carte food items at the counter for combo plates(kinda like Panda Express). I didn’t want to get something that had been sitting out for a while so we ordered some dinner entrees cooked to order. We decided on the shrimp w/snow peas and shrimp egg foo young. The shrimp w/snow peas came out pretty quickly and we started munching on that. The shrimp were big and veggies fresh, but the white sauce was disappointing… bland & watery. The Shrimp egg foo young took forever to come out and when we got it, it was burnt!!! It was covered in this dark colored salty gravy that seemed to bring out the burned flavor of the egg pancake even more(see pic) I really wanted to like this place, but sadly it was a big disappointment… Thus I must Unilocal about it. Although I don’t like to give bad reviews my inner FOODIE feels compelled to share my gastro experience with fellow Foodies. I know this was a fast food Chinese place so I wasn’t expecting LA/San Fran/NYC Chinatown caliber food, BUT my tummy wasn’t doing a happy dance at all. Sadly, I will not be a repeat customer :( Condolences to my taste buds…

I’ve been here at least 3 – 4 times, and surprisingly, this is one place where the general public and I beg to differ in opinions. I’m still pretty puzzled with just the three star average because every experience I’ve had was nothing short of good. The ladies and gentleman who work there are pretty nice. Not to mention, the food was delicious. I am a big fan of their honey chicken! My only concern was when on one visit, I ordered sweet and sour chicken, the portion was small; however, they made up for it by adding another scoop of honey chicken along with it. It really shows how much they care for their customers. Overall, I would definitely come here again for my Chinese food fix over Panda Express any day.

Taste is pretty mediocre even with the added MSG. When I was getting take out, I saw the owner sprinkle loads of MSG. I will make sure to ask beforehand not to. Having said that, the staff is very friendly and make you feel welcome. Also, the place seems very well ventilated and feels clean.

This place is absolutely adorable. The wall of tea tins is awesome, my roommate purchased a mango one while we were there. Service was fast, everyone in my group purchased«special entrees», so not what was sitting in the pans. The vegetable chow mein that I got was phenomenal. Nice thick noodles, not awfully greasy and with plenty of crisp crunchy veggies to balance it out. The stand out for me personally was my boyfriend’s entrée which was the orange tofu. Holy oh my goodness, SOGOOD. Great for those of us who decline to eat meat but miss orange chicken with a fiery passion. The portions are large, had leftovers for lunch the next day. We went a few weeks ago, and will be getting takeout tonight. I CANNOTWAIT!

My lunch was overall disappointing. Pros: great location, friendly staff, good selection of tea Cons: soggy food at 1pm, overpriced, bland, salty, limited selection I understand and appreciate that a small local business can’t afford to have fresh ingredients or super long line of food selections but I was mostly disappointed in the lack of variety. The honey chicken was super soft and didn’t have that sweet crisp that it should. The veggies were very bland. Kung pao chicken tasted mostly of salt. Another customer came in for only tea and the staff were super friendly, knowledgable, and welcoming. I give them major kudos for being so pleasant to everyone!

Nice little place. They make smaller batches of their dishes so that the food stays fresh. I like how the veggies are usually pretty fresh and crunchy in my plates. The entrees are really good. I have tried most of them. I noticed that the fried rice is simply rice that has been fried. No extra stuff added like vegetables or eggs. When I asked if they could substitute the starch(steamed rice, noodles or fried rice) for steamed veggies. There was an additinal charge. So it was less expensive to order a mixed plate combo and use the steamed veggies as an entrée. Then throw out the starch. But being the cheap-on that I am, I was torn! Pay extra to eat healthier. Pay less to add more entrees and be wasteful and throw away food that I dont want to eat. There is a good selection of teas to choose from. Either Hot, Cold or in a box to take home. The service is fast and friendly.
