My food was really cold. The guy that works there was a total ass, saying how i ordered an hour earlier. Im thinking he gave me the food that was meant for whoever called an «hour earlier». Worst customer service ever. The ladies are nice though. He needs work!!!

Best carne asada fries in all of san diego! Ive tasted all around and this is the best! Make sure to ask for them well done or «dorados». They put queso fresco in it. It is delicious. And a nice size portion of guacamole that is perfect

For a hole in the wall, they have great food. Speaks very little English so be prepared to point and nod!

Carne asada tacos tasty but did contain bits of fat. Guacamole was thin green sour cream like texture and was more like a 50⁄50 ratio of avocado to sour cream. The sopes they served were hard as a rock and had to send them back. Those sopes must have expired months ago for them to be that rock hard even after deep frying them. Not exactly happy about that but they fixed it. Enjoy the salsa bar inside and would warn anyone to careful with the habanero salsa because it will burn a hole through your stomach and make your throat tingle. Pleasant little taco shop located in the back hills of San Ysidro. I witnessed many customers eating here and ordering food to go while the phone kept ringing for more orders, so I do have some trust for the food turnover here.

So I was in the mood for some border tacos and found this gem. On my way there I was a lil leary on the area and where Unilocal was taking me. The shop is a lil hole in the wall so I was a lil scared. We ordered 10 fish tacos and the total was 10 and some change. We sat on the outside benches that had an amazing night view of tijuana hill lights. Enjoyed some amazing fish tacos that were battered fish filets not fish sticks in a taco. This place is truly a diamond in the rough.

For us to drive up to this place from Riverside has a lot to say about how delicious the food is here. I highly recommend the birria and the queza tacos.

Not too bad. If you are hungry, it is not a bad place to go. But if you are going for good Mexican food in San Diego, don’t come here. There are lots of other places much better than this for the same price. The shrimp was very over cooked. The beef tacos meat was bland. The fish tacos were good and the rice and bean were good too.

Just tried the a few things… Fish tacos were excellent. Fish burrito was even better. And the carne asada is as good as the rest. This is my new favorite hole in the wall border Mexican food restaurant.

Delicious tacos. Totally a hole in the wall, it’s hidden away in a small shopping area. Small tacos, but the meat is really tasty and the price is right

Food was okay and service was very friendly. I got 2 sopes, meh. My hubby ordered a bowl of sopa de birria, he liked it. All in all, food was homemade and C average on a letter grade scale.

So last night I was looking for a good new place for Mexican food & I’m so happy I found this place. I ordered a California burrito and it was really delicious. The meat was very well seasoned and the fries in it were nice and soft but still have that bite to it. If ever you are in the area I would recommend it for sure. Go there right now it’s so so good! Oh and the Cali burrito that I got was pretty big so bring your appetite.

This is about as good as a taco shop gets! They really take«fast food» to a new level. I’ve never had anything here that was bad. The $ 1 fish and chicken tacos are so good. Their rolled tacos, burritos, tortas, sopes are all done perfectly. Try the TJ tacos– best on this side of the border!

Cute lil joint. Inside is tiny but clean. There’s a lot of patio seating too. The last two times I’ve been here I’ve done take out. Their service is quick and accurate. The cashier is super nice, informative and patient with his customers. Had the enchiladas with rojo sauce. Yummy! The adobada burrito is awesome. If you’re not into the onions and cilantro, order it without. The meat is flavorful … maybe lax king in that lime flare that i prefer but still good… and has that awesome grilled charred taste. I ordered with with sour cream. Whoa, nelly! I’m definitely comin back for thirds ;)

One dollar fish tacos all day. TJ style tacos for $ 1.65, carne asada, adobada, pollo asada among other tacos with all the fixings. This is as close as you can get to real TJ tacos without the beer and crossing the border. The shop is is spit into two sections one where you are actually in the building and another right in front under the tent with about 6 long tables. Im not 100% sure but I do not think the outside section is open all day, its more of an afternoon thing regardless. If you want you can just order outside but you need cash. You can play with credit/debit inside but still get the tacos on the menu outside. They have the adobada(spicy pork) rotating outside which is always delicious. The tacos are regular TJ style with the small tortillas so you MUST get at least three for starters. Try one of each: adobada, carne asada, and pollo. Just for good measure go inside and get a fish taco or two.(You can only order those inside.) I have been told multiple times I can’t drink beer outside so I have started to just grab a cup from 7⁄11 and use that as my goblet for the meal. But what are tacos without beer? I suppose just amazing tacos but you always have options. If you are in the area or even by the outlets this place is not that far from it you gotta get your taco fill somehow.

My updated review reflects recent changes to the establishment, that being the addition of outdoor taqueros who make delicious TJ-style street tacos. Also, my continual dining there because it really is the closest place to eat near me and therefore should be a bit more respectful in the rating department. There has been a big increase in patrons of the establishment, to which I naturally take credit for putting them on the map. ;) Good food in a great location, what more could I want?
