After being seated, it took maybe 15 – 20 minutes for someone to just take our order. I honestly wasn’t sure who our server was, but the two servers in our section continued to ignore us for a while. The waiter also rushed us with our order to avoid answering questions. The service was just very poor. The food was okay at best. I wouldn’t even say I would go back here for the food. The only thing that was good were the prices.

Super Slow service, rude people, nasty vegetables… Got the Kung pao chicken which was OK, but definitely wouldn’t come back. The old lady cashier is a B also

«Only the freshest local ingredients»… canned mushrooms on my mushroom chicken, what a disappointment! And no cash drawer on a busy holiday weekend at 6:30pm, I had to pay with a card even though I had cash.

The original Emerald off of Convoy has such a good reputation that I hate to see this at the airport. I know the overhead is high rent inside the terminal. But why risk your brand for a quick buck? I mean deep fried dim sum is a disappointment. The Bow bun was dry, the Hargow I was looking forward to but it was chewy and tasteless. I think you should make the quality you are known for, raise the prices if you must and make us proud you are there.

First off, I stopped by this place because they lock out Terminal 1 people from all the good shit inside Terminal 2(phil’s and stone). Service was a bit slow, but what can you expect from busy airport workers who have to deal with people all day. Let’s get to the point with the food. Our orange chicken came out looking almost neon. Portions are a bit small compared to other fast food«Chinese» chains like Panda. The chicken itself was nice and hot, a little chewy and spongelike and with a peculiar coating. The side of veggies are very meager and were cold in contrast to everything else. Carrots and a huge head of broccoli were simply steamed. The wonton soup is a small cup but not bad for only $ 6. The board says«won ton NOODLE soup» but there aren’t any actual noodles. As an Asian, I can tell you that won tons are not noodles. This is simply won ton soup, dumplings in a clear broth. For the price, it doesn’t taste so bad. A nice small portion to take up your snack appetite.

Poor service, bad food. Started out angry but wound up laughing because the experience was so ridiculous.

Awful. Don’t waste your money. We couldn’t finish anything we bought. What a disaster. Thawed from frozen garbage. The airport should call it Emerald Embarrassed. I hoped for the best that whatever I tried to eat didn’t reappear at 30,000 feet in one form or another. Don’t do it fellow fliers.

Wow. No. Don’t go here. I’m regretting the fact that I stopped here prior to checking reviews. They’ve all pretty much been accurate. The service was terrible, even for a food place that has you take a number and come back get your food! The cashier had a very heavy accent and would yell the customer number loudly multiple times, even as people were walking up to get their food. Didn’t appear to be in a great mood. Food: no stars? I was hungry, but didn’t finish it. The veggies were undercooked and super bland. The chicken definitely seemed like it was frozen and re-thawed(freezer burn, still evident after cooking). I was not impressed. Please avoid this huge waste of time and money. Anywhere else is better

With all the bad reviews, I was surprised at how good my kung pao chicken was, especially for airport fare… Maybe I hit them on a good day, but the guy in back was whipping up fresh hot food from the wok, and the counter lady was super friendly. Maybe it’s hit or miss here, but I had no complaints

I wish that I would have read reviews before eating here. HORRIBLE! The orange chicken was dry & freezer burned. The«steamed» carrots looked like they were scraped off a plate from earlier in the day. Grayish/brownish orange in color. The only good thing on the plate was the few stalks of steamed broccoli. Found a piece of plastic in the chicken. Went to take it back & it had closed for the night already. STAYAWAY. See attached photo of the disgusting carrots.

Seriously??? Not good Pros: Nice seating area(it is maintained by the airport) Cons: Mall Chinese food is better. Ordered vegetable chow mein, it’s spaghetti with veggies in it. Chow mein is supposed to have crispy noodles. Crispy beef was tasteless and dry. Overall GROSS! THREWMOSTOFOURFOODAWAY.

Can’t believe I just threw my money away on this inedible food. The chicken is fucking disgusting. Dried up vegetables, freezer burnt chicken. The airport needs to kick them out. I want my money back!!!

Stay Away! Horrible horrible food! I order a meal at this sham of a Chinese food restaurant, horrible food was super dry and still cold even though I got the food right from kitchen. Absolutely the worst Chinese food in the planet, no exaggeration. I wish I could give 0 stars. Complete waste of money go to Jack in the box or place past security much better then this place. I also love how their is a sign that says fresh Chinese food hahahhahahahhahaha if you are in space and this food might be «fresh» but we all know it is frozen and microwaved. But even frozen food at home taste way better. You have been warned, stay away!!!

I’m wouldn’t give it any stars but the app won’t let you do that. I’ve had frozen dim sum but this has to be the worst frozen dim sum in the planet. There are NO noodles in the wonton noodle soup.

This was the only real food option before going through security. The sandwiches next door were all cold. I ordered the Cantonese fried rice and a bottle of water. Just as the lady at the counter finished taking my order, I noticed the lone cook disappeared from the kitchen. He did mot reappear until 15 minutes later. In the meantime 5 other parties had ordered and were waiting anxiously for their food. I got my food 25 minutes after ordering. The shrimp was cold, as if it was thrown on at the end as an afterthought. The Fiji water was good

Surprisingly the best fried rice I’ve had in a long time! Was not expecting that at an airport fast food.

If you’re reading this review your life is already very sad. Expect it to get a lot sadder after you eat at Emerald express. You will eat microwaved frozen Chinese food and be disappointed and then you’ll be out $ 11. Sadly there are no options, no other options at all. Unless you consider a prefabricated sandwich at the place next door which is somehow even sadder. Maybe you should eat here just to know how bad things can get at an airport.

Emeral would roll over if he ever visited this spot. I arrived at the airport way too early for my flight. I chose not to drink, so what else to do but to get something to eat. Terminal 2 at Sky Harbor is not very food freindly with very limited options. When I saw Emerald’s, i actually smiled as it was an Asian Bistro in addition to the fine name of Emerald. Wrong. I was the only customer there, no one waiting, just me. I waited about 3 minutes for the lady(who knew i was there) to take my order. I asked her if the scallion beef was better than the crispy beef. She was very quick to say that the scallioin beef was much better. I took her advice and ordered such… remember, i was the only customer there…6 minutes, 8 minutes, 10 minutes… finally, i walked up and started hanging by the counter waiting for my food. The guy in the back(only person other than the lady who was too busy to take my order) said… did you order something. I said yes, i ordered the scallion beef with white rice. he said, she forgot to ring it in, i’ll start cooking. another 12 minutes went by and they hollered my number(I was the only person who had ordered in 20 mins and only one there waiting)…I got my food. Shocking, it was not scallion beef, but crispy beef. it was dry, tough, no sauce what so ever to go over the rice… discusting tasting. It may have had some hope, but it was severely overcooked(guess they were too busy) and dried out. Sad experience as i’ve alwasy thought of Emerald’s as a higher level place and expected to enjoy my food… I ate three bites, threw it away and went to my gate.

It’s the only option in the airport before you go through the TSA checkpoint. Expect poor quality at big $$$ and a long wait.

Service was surly, $ 10 gets you an average size plate of food. I asked if they could give me fried rice with the combo instead of steamed rice… no.(Doesn’t seem like an absurd request for Chinese fast food.) Combo came out and while the shrimp were hot, the«steamed» vegetables were cold(perhaps still frozen in the middle?). Nice to have more options in Terminal 1, but if you are looking for a replica of the Emerald Convoy restaurant… this ain’t it.
