Fatburger

Yep, it’s closed! :-(
This was my go-​to place for the best backyard burger taste. I could ask for the ½ lb patty «on the char» and it would be grilled over fire. Great choice of toppings and good fresh beef made for a great burger. I’ll miss you Fatburger!

Burger was ok… with so many burger joints nowadays I don’t see how Fatburger can be competitive with prices so high.
Also, maybe because this place is in PB… but it just seemed a little dirty.
I used a gift card that was given to me and the cashier had trouble processing the payment, then tried to explain to me that card won’t work at this location. 5 more minutes of pushing every single button, the payment went through.
With so many other burger places all around SD… I don’t think I’ll be returning.

Maybe I’ll change this when this great place decides to stay open till the SCHEDULED time. It wasn’t like the restaurant was empty, and the guys turned away a family with four kids that walked in right after us too! 9:50 pm with 4 tables already eating and could have sold 8 more dishes. SO FRUSTRATING AND THIS ISNT THE FIRST TIME.

Burgers were yummy and milkshakes are good but this place is friggen overpriced.
And don’t even get me started on the employees. This one guy. Oh man I’m getting heated just talking about him. Cheap A wouldn’t even give me soda water for free like its literally water. I even brought a cup of my own to fill. STINGY AS HELL
Also I feel greasy as soon as I walk in

The food is pretty good, one of the better burgers out there (not quite as good as Five Guys or Smashburger). It’s not a bad option for in between sit down and fast food near the ocean. Prices are a little high, but it’s close to the beach, so compared to other options on the beach, this can be cheaper. The restrooms are a pain as they require tokens.

VERY unprofessional! There was a miscommunication with my order, it happens, but the guy at the register looked at me like i had 5 heads when I asked for what I actually ordered and then said «well, I did everything right on my end» are you kidding?! that is not how you treat a guest at a restaurant, i dont care if its Eddie V’s or Fatburger. To top it, the manager couldn’t seem to have cared less. so unprofessional and unacceptable.

I go here every once in a while, since PB is kinda far from where I live. And this is the only fatburger I’ve ever been to. People war nice, I usually have a Baby Fat Burger and/​or some french fries. They give you a variety of burgers and ingredients to chose from, which I think is cool even though I always order a standard one. All in all, what can I say, it’s a fast food place, it’s chill, check it out.

This has nothing to do with the food but we all know attitude and customer service count for a lot. Desperately needed to go to the bathroom n the male employee would not let unless I had a quarter. I even told him I would come back and give him the change but he said no I do not trust you. This is what the world has come to?!! What if I really really had to go and just did it there?

I haven’t been here since I was a kid and the décor wasn’t as glamorous and fun as I remembered. But the burger was big and juicy and had a bit of sweetness to it because of the relish. The food smells good and it’s open all night for those hungry Joe’s. Sorry but as for me I’m not a big fan. My friend compared it to In-​and-​Out… I just wanted to jolt over the table and relive an episode of Ike and Tina or aka PIMP Slap!
It’s good food to put in your belly after a crazy night but so is Denny’s which is right across the street.

The chili cheese fries are really the only item I like. They are so greasy and sinful with the gooey cheese and spicy chili and big chunks of meat.
The burgers are too wet, in my opinion. They get soggy quickly.
I would choose fatburger over Five Guys because it’s about the same quality and Five Guys is a rip off, but neither are places of go to get a burger. Too greasy and they taste low-​quality. In-​N-​Out wins my heart, and BurgerLounge a close second.

I didn’t get my first SD hangover until 2 weeks after I moved here — look at how adult I am now! To nurse said hangover I opted for Fatburger which helped me go into a food coma and back to bed to let my liver continue to heal.
The burger was legit. I would definitely pop back in especially because I live within walking distance. The fat fries were a let down; not cooked all the way through and no salt or seasoning added. The cookies and cream shake was fab and deliciously fatty.
It was not too crowded and the team working was nice. Looking forward to trying some other items in a non-​hungover state.

I haven’t had a Fatburger in years! The last one I had was up in Santa Barbara and that was 7 or 8 years ago. On my days off, I always told myself that I would drive down here and get one but never did… today was the day that would change. I jumped in my car and drove down.
They open pretty early (10:30am) and I got there just before 11. There was only one guy in the place waiting for his food. I placed my order for the Large Deal which is a large Fatburger, I chose fat fries, and a drink. I added cheese and bacon to my burger because cheese and bacon are delicious ;-). My total was just over $ 12.00. Grabbed my Coke and took a seat. They make everything to order here so it took about 5 – 7 minutes or so. My food was ready and I picked up my tray. Everything looked great. Here is how it actually tasted.
Fatburger– This was a big 8oz burger. It looked delicious! I got mine without mayo or tomato but added bacon and cheese. The burger comes with mustard, lettuce, onions, relish and pickles. I took a bite and it was pretty damn tasty. Maybe a little too many pickle items (relish AND pickles) and I could taste that and the mustard shining through. I broke off a piece of burger that didn’t have anything on it though and it was real good. Halfway through my burger, the bun started shifting and falling apart. I hate when that shit happens! Maybe it was too much mustard or moisture from the pickles/​relish etc but this thing was going down fast. I salvaged most of it and polished it off. Next time I think I would just get it without greens and just burger, cheese, mustard, onions and bacon. Speaking of that bacon… It was pretty good. Huge pieces of it and well worth the $ 1 extra. It had a little bit of crunch but also a little bit of chew. It worked.
Fries– Fat fries. They were just ok. They don’t salt them at all here. I hate that when they don’t even use a little salt and here is why… If you would salt them a little right when they get out of the fryer, the salt sticks to them because of the hot oil. If you serve them plain, they cool down fast and if you try to apply salt, it never sticks to the fries. Meh. I used a lot of ketchup to salt them up. They were alright but I might go with onion rings next time or the skinny fries.
Coke– Coke products are my favorite and it was a perfect choice of beverage to wash down this meal.
3 stars for now because of a few things.
–Price– $ 12.00 isn’t really cheap.
–Flies– I understand there may be a fly in your establishment. That is fine… but when there are multiple flies, it might be time to shut the doors instead of leaving it open for those pests to come in. None actually landed on my food but they danced on the table next to me a lot and that is not appealing while eating your food.
–The bun– I hate buns that fall apart and this one fell into that category.
Would I go back? Yes… and just order things a little bit different. Burger without any green stuff, onion rings and a Coke. Now that sounds like a great meal!

what i do like about this place is the shape of their burgers and the fat fries. Although I am more of a skinny fry kinda gal, when I crave steak fries, this place does the trick. The burger patties are also kinda misshapen. This makes me feel like the meat was fresh and just squished quickly before it was placed on the grill.
What I don’t like about this place is the price. For a burger it is expensive, that is the bottom line. There are plenty other burger places that are just as good for less money.

We were HUNNNGRY! I had the chicken sammich and skinny fries… easy and no complaints! Parking here sucks though. :(

It was alright. There’s a private parking lot nearby for a bunch of places including Fatburger. I ordered the Kingburger combo, upgrading the frieds to chili cheese fat fries and ordered my little brother a Baby Fat burger. Oh man, was the Kingburger wide and pretty big. The Baby Fat burger looked like a fat miniature. Definitely works if you’re not that hungry or you just eat less.
The burgers themselves were just alright. It was like a typical burger you can get elsewhere. Don’t get me wrong, it’s definitely better and tastes fresher than McDonalds or Burger King but there wasn’t anything super special about it. As for the chili cheese fries, damn hadn’t had a good one in awhile. The chili was actually meaty. I likeyy! They could’ve added more cheese though. I’ll probably come back to get some chili cheese fries but not so much for the burger.

HUNGRY!!!
Walked in & ordered an 8 oz. Kingburger with everything on it, extra cheese and (raising hand) fried egg…

Chilli Cheese Fat Fries.

From My Waistline To YOURS!!!

I’ve been here several times, but I went here this time specifically to replace the bad taste of Stacked with a much better burger. And while Fatburger has none of the Geewhizery or deep menu options of Stacked, the proof is in the patty.
I had the regular-​sized Fatburger. (Someday I’ll do the Triple Kingburger, but that will have to wait until I’m married and can therefore let myself go.) And what I got was just a «normal» burger that happened to be delicious. w00t. The patty was *perfectly* caramelized. I had steak fries on the side to complete a very satisfying, quick meal.
Summary: I think I need more Fat in my diet.

Great burgers. Pure and simple. «Fat» in the name is a misnomer because they’re more lean than ⁸⁰⁄₂₀ typical burger mix. Take your time ordering to figure out what type of experience you want.
Baby Fatburger for those who want to walk, not waddle out the door.
Kingburger or Double Kingburger for the rest of us.
Fat or skinny fries. Do you like softer, larger fries, or skinny, crispier fries?
Milkshake? Ohhh yeah…
My boys loved it. I’ve been coming here since they first built it in PB about ten years ago. It ranks up there with In N Out, Hodad’s and Nessie as a SoCal /​San Diego ground sirloin burger experience.

With a name like Fatburger, is has to be… disgusting? I guess Urineburger was too unappealing for most people, but that is really all I can remember from my recent stop-​in here.
After a night of drinking, we met up with some friends here and the place was a mess. The bathroom was out of service, the floor was wet throughout the restaurant. Some clear liquids mixed with dirt and filth from people’s shoes, and some yellow puddles that it appeared no one dared step in. After all this, I had no appetite, so we waited for our friends to finish eating, who were somehow oblivious to the pee-​puddle they had been sitting next to the whole time. Once they finished, we left quickly and I never plan on going back.
