I’m not a big festival person but I do enjoy the craft stands. This festival was packed! We parked about 2 miles from the actual activity in order to find parking. There was live music on several stages. Modern pop, Mariachi, Ranchero… I love Mexican music. There were so many vendors selling cool little mexican goodies you usually only see when you walk the streets of Latin America. Bright colors. It was fun. After a while it’s the same products but the best part is, you can always negotiate prices. Thank you for the $ 2 flower tiara! I was a fairy princess for the day. The food is awesome. Nothing I love more than street tacos and churros! Well, not so much on the churros but the bf is a fan. I felt like I was back in the homeland. Although, I’m Guatemalan. It’s similar culture and Latino supporting Latino is the best I can do.

I love local festivals. This is one of them. It reminds me of what a treat it is to come to Old Town. This festival is spread out around Old Town so you really get a chance to browse around. Try some of the fantastic foods here, either by a street vendor from the festival or from one of the many restaurants in the area. There is live music at several stages. Cultural displays. It is neat to stop in and browse the stores, cafes and museums. This year was an improvement over past year. They set up the vendors in a different way. Last year the vendors were all around the outside of the main stage. Which made it crowded to walk around. This year they got smart and spread the vendors along the streets of Old Town. From my perspective less crowded and it gave me more of an opportunity to actually stop by the local stores that I always seem to miss. I even found some new favorite places to come back to the next time that I am in Old Town.
