Very good Italian Restaurant in Old Town San Diego which is full of Mexican Restaurants. Great service and professional service. You can sit outside when it’s warm. I had spaghetti & meatball and it was delicious. Great wine & beer!

We went to dinner last night with our 6 year old son. We walked in and were greeted and seated quickly. We ordered drinks and they served us toasted bread with butter as we waited for our meals. My husband ordered shrimp bisque as a starter while I got the Caprese salad. Both were delicious. We all ordered spaghetti for our entrees thinking it would be ‘okay’-it was PHENOMENAL! The sauce and the meatballs were so flavorful-the noodles were perfection! We were happily surprised to find this place in Old Town and look forward to going back soon next time we visit! Thank you!

One of our long time favorites, Jack & Giulio’s is fantastic. We always have the Scampi alla Giulio and the Tortellini Verde. I know other items must be fantastic but we just can’t resist these two specialties! Love sitting on the patio and enjoying a summer evening in San Diego. If you want real Italian food, this is THE place!

The food, ambiance and wait staff are the BEST is San Diego. The Scampi Giulio is undeniably the best shrimp dish ever. I bring all my out of town guests here, and come in as often as I can. The warmer weather is great on their patio, especially when they have musical guests. Everyone should try Jack and Giulio’s.

Excellent service in this quintessential Italian restaurant. Food was way above average. Chicken Marsala — excellent. Veal/eggplant Parmesan was 4 out of 5 — crispy, plenty of cheese and only down was a little light on the sauce. Would certainly return!!!

When I was a child, we used to go to Giulio’s restaurant in Pacific Beach. The food was always delicious and Giulio always went out of his way to make us feel welcome. Now, his son, Jack greets you at the door and extends the same warm welcome. The food is also still delicious. I had the best chicken piccata that I’ve ever eaten. My husband loved his veal and eggplant parmesan. We finished our dinner with the fresh strawberries and zabaglione… It was the perfect ending to a wonderful evening. We only wish we lived closer so that we could eat here more often. We will definitely return on our next trip to San Diego.

Absolutely incredible meals — two nights in a row. Shrimp was amazing. Everything was amazing. Recommend the Ricotta cheesecake as well. Heavenly.

First of all… went with 20 people and they set us up in a room… that was great! Everyone said, nice wine list. The bruschetta was just OK. The caprese salad fabulous. cheese was do fresh and creamy. I shared two meals. Chicken Marsala was very good and the veggies cooked to perfection. BUT the Scampi alla Giulio a bounty of shrimp, butter flied, sautéed with mushrooms, and white wine served with pasta was OUTOFTHISWORLD. Thanks for a nice dinner while traveling.

First time here. Met jack the owner. Super nice down to earth guy. Been here for 26 years. Love the house salad and the spaghetti. Very fresh and you can tell they make the pasta fresh here on site. Lots of seating, outdoor seating is even more spacious and calming. Great local business with great quality food. Prices were great for lunch.

Service is great. Cant deny that. However food is overpriced for the quality. I had chicken alfredo fettucini, which wasnt anything special. I was expecting more authentic ingredients.

Yep… back again for wife’s birthday. When I asked where she wanted to go for dinner, it was J&G. Our favorite in San Diego. Casually authentic. Cozy and a full bar. Wait staff experienced people, not college kids. These waiters earn their living here, so it is very professional and accommodating. The menu is excellent. Period. Everything we have had over the years has been great so go for it. Prices are reasonable, especially when you consider that you are in the tourist land of Old San Diego. Do make reservations if you are coming in after 6pm. This place can get full quick, including the very nice outside patio area. Patio area is «iffy» given the many times chill evening San Diego weather. We will continue to return.

We had just left the San Diego game and happened upon this fun restaurant. The food was amazing, the service was exceptional and the atmosphere was what it should be. We plan to return the next time we are in town.

I can honestly say that the Scampi alla Giulio is one of my favorite dishes of all time! My family and I have stopped by Jack & Giulio’s every time I come to visit SoCal for the past several years. The combination of the gigantic, beautifully butterflied prawns and the sautéed mushrooms make for an absolute winner. This dish will certainly leave your tastebuds satisfied whether you are a picky eater or a passionate food connoisseur with a more refined, sophisticated pallet. My sincerest complements go out to the chef. Whatever they are doing back there in the kitchen, they are doing right! Oh yeah, I should mention it comes with your choice of a side of pasta or veggies as if the scampi wasn’t enough!

If you’re in Old Town San Diego, why would you eat anything that’s not Mexican? This wouldn’t be my choice, but my colleagues chose this place and I followed. It really was a good Italian meal. The restaurant had a Mexican feel due the fact that they were in Old Town. It’s strange to eat Italian in Old Town, but if you do, this place is pretty good.

Great Place Great Food Great Staff! Had my birthday dinner Friday night it was awesome. I had the house made tortellini and Alfredo Sauce, Caprese Salad and Garlic Bread with an Espresso Martini and then Cheesecake for dessert. We sat outside the patio and view were perfect. Great date night.

Service was good. Homemade pasta: spinach tortellini with porcini mushroom sauce was okay. I was expecting amazing, but it wasn’t. It was too salty. The cheesecake I took to go, not sweet enough. On the savory side of the dessert scale. I wouldn’t go back but again the service was good.

Two dear friends introduced us to this lil gem in old town. *BESTSHRIMPSCAMPI* in San Diego, where are they getting these enormous shrimps? Service was friendly and so attentive. We sat inside, the bar area is small and they have a patio in the front, I had a martini which was made to perfection. Very shocked to see the poor ratings as my meal and service were flawless. Cant wait to return. Parking can be tricky like anything in Old town on weekends.

The simplest high quality ingredients, presented with effortless elegance is a posh setting equal a memorable meal. I had read reviews, but felt they had to exaggerate. I was pleased to be proven wrong. This Italian restaurant is everything you could ask for from the service to the sincerity and integrity involved in this well oiled machine. It’s like watching a ballet and I would buy front row tickets every night. I have used this restaurant as the setting for many pivotal moments in my life, and would trust them to handle any affair with more attention to detail than I could dispense.
