Gabbiano Pizza

Pretty decent sandwich place. Most locals recommended it so we try it. I had the meatball sub and my wife had the chicken Alfredo. Decent good. Very convenient where we stayed.

Stopped here because the food is a little limited at this end of the beach, and we were too wiped out to walk another mile. Let’s start with pizza, shall we? Pizza should be made by Italians and that’s it. If you are looking for frozen crust with canned sauce, then this is your place. Pretty nasty, but if you want a quick fix and just want to fill your belly without caring about the taste go here. Next time I’ll crawl the extra mile for something halfway decent. I learned a lesson.

This is the worst pizza I’ve ever tasted. Should have ate frozen instead. Very expensive but really nasty. Leaves a bad taste in your mouth. We all were disappointed

My boyfriend and I go here about twice a month… Mostly when it’s cold and we crave a hot sub. We always get the meatball sub with extra mozzarella. Super yummy! Crunchy on the outside soft a gooey on the inside!

The pizza tasted like microwave pizza. There were flys swarming us while trying to eat because there is no air conditioning and the door was open. The inside must have been initially modeled in 1995 and was never repaired or remodeled. Don’t go here.

If your ever in the south mission beach area I totally recommend you try Gabbianos sandwiches they are amazing and great pricing. Go check them out

I have lived in mission beach for 8 years now and every time I go in an instantly reminded why it is always my last resort when there is no parking.
Where do I start? Upon entrance of the front doors one can see the establishments cleanliness on par with gardeners fingernails (mind the flys swarming around inside during summer hours)… Once you are able to get past that and have picked an over price item it takes at least 5 – 10 min to get the attention of one of the employees to notice your existence. Oh, and if ur doing a phone order prepare for an extremely hard to understand situation. And you will never hear a thank you…
If the service didn’t drive you away yet. The food is at least bearable. I rate it with a meeehhhh. From the pizza to the pasta to the sandwiches. It’s all whatever… As in it works if ur about to die.
All in all this is a pretty subpar establishment operated by downright rude and careless people. Great if your from Visiting for a weekend and will never be back, but that’s it. I’m no food critic by any means but I think it is the small things that really shows a business cares. This lame pizza joint does not have that.

The sandwiches are to die for! I could eat here every night. I loved this place in college and I still love it now. Yum! Love how they haven’t changed the sandwiches either. I asked for it toasted just in case. Apparently they are ALWAYS toasted which is the way to go. I can’t testify for anything else but the sandwiches, but I’m a sandwich guru and MAN they are AMAZING!

When you get it fresh there’s nothing better. Been coming here for over 10 years and it’s the same every time.

The #32 sub is the best sub sandwich I’ve ever had. 5 stars !!! Hot ass Vietnamese girls working there too !

I’ve been eating at Gabbianos since my college days in the mid 90’s. It is as good now as it was then. The staff are super friendly.
The subs are such a great value and they come right out of the oven — just freakin tasty (whether your hammered or not!). If your looking for a sub, stay away from the national franchises, they are so far away in quality from this Mission Beach staple!
I’ve been hooked on the #33 for 20 yrs… turkey, bacon, avocado!

Great pizza! Big sandwiches at a great price. Staff is super nice. You can get pastas there as well. I like to get my food delivered by them. Get the combo pizza.

Oven baked pasta with sausage and mushrooms is perfect when you just don’t feel like cooking. Just like my mom would have made if I was Italian.

This place has AMAZING sandwiches!!! I’ve only had the pizza once and it was awesome too but the sandwiches really are where it’s at. They do take a while but that’s why you call it in to be ready when you get there. I’m going to get one now!!!

Doesn’t look like much from the outside but the pizza was great!!! Staff was polite and friendly. Will go again next time in the area.

Bad pizza. Just really not good. It tastes like they use the absolutely cheapest ingredients that money can buy. Pizza in a movie theatre is better.

Pizza, meh. Nothing to write home about. It was a Saturday night at 7 PM and the pizza took an hour to make. Pasta and meat sauce for the kids and they liked it. Also ordered a mortadella sandwich and it was actually the best thing ordered. Very good hot sandwich.

On the basis of the pizza alone, this is a 2 star place. There is nothing special about the pizzas or toppings, and the crust seems premade, with taste/​texture similar to frozen dough.
It was very convenient to our beach rental, and the staff was friendly. 8 slices came to $ 25, and they were on the large side.

Wow how great is it that Gabbiano delivers, and past 9pm too! I was starving, and my sammies got to me in like 15 minutes.
I ordered the 12, and the 22B… and they were freakin HUGE! Really, you could just do a half and be okay, but the whole sandwich for like 9 bucks is such a great deal and sooo much food! The bread was nice and toasty and again it came soooo quick. Hooray free delivery!

This isn’t your first date kind of pizzeria. Unless you’re getting takeout and eating beach side. Or in my case, I’ll order takeout and lounge on the couch. It’s like a first date, with myself, every time.
I’ve had their pizza a couple of times. It’s good. Nothing specatular (says the crust snob) but I’ll eat it again. The real winners here are their lasagne and pastas! The sauces are amazingly creamy and the perfect amount of seasoning.
My most recent visit was with a girlfriend of mine. We called it the TROUGH.
