I went in to trade a slew of games and my old 360 console toward a new xbox, and the staff was really awesome. Jason really helped out by informing me of what deals were going on, and was super knowledgable about every question I asked. It was a pleasure to go in to Gamestop and for once not feel like the employees were simply only trying to upsell me(although that is a big part of their job) but they treated the customer like an individual as well. Great customer service and overall experience and will definitely come back despite it not being the closest store to me.

I brought my little dude in here to redeem his Easter gift card today. We were immediately greeted by Jessi and asked if we needed any assistance. He said he was looking for the Lego Batman game on Xbox and she looked it up and found that they had all three versions in stock. He was of course excited and opted to buy two of them. Here is where I confess that I’m just the wallet. I go along and help pay if he runs short, but I know next to nothing about video games. My son buys his own systems and games. He has been filling out his wishlist for years now and telling me what to buy him at Christmas. I’m useless otherwise. I was really impressed with the service we received here when he went to checkout though. Jessi helped him use his gift card and power up card, along with a coupon offer that printed up afterwards to save him him another $ 10 dollars! This is a lot of money for a little kid. I thought it was really sweet of her to take the time and hassle to refund his initial purchase and start over just to save him the money. We used to go to the store by Grossmont Center and the employees there have never shown an interest in customer service, to be honest I don’t ever recall being greeted in there. I’ll definitely return to this location in the future.

I used to dismiss GameStop out of hand because it’s sometimes more expensive than other stores. But the last few times I’ve been in, they have been extremely helpful in answering questions. At Target, I asked if you can use old Wii games on WiiU. Employee had to look it up. At GameStop, the employee knew. Also, if you have a question about a game, or you say, «I want a game for my 12 year old son that’s not too violent and that my 8 year old can also play,» they will suggest some to you. I’ve brought a few to the counter and asked about them– about one game, the employee said it wasn’t that great and was too difficult for the age level. So they are out to help you, not make a sale. They are also pretty fair about trade-in value and they have a wide selection of used games. So it’s definitely worth the few extra dollars you might pay to get immediate service. They even have at least one female employee– which was like a unicorn back in the old days(I’m talking just a few years back). Plus, it is next door to Starbucks.

Had a really bad experience here today involving an employee who kept making a point to proclaim loudly that«This is not my store.» and therefore could not be helpful. We came in to do a single item trade in and pick up something new but the lone employee, from apparently the only gamestop that is completely different from every other gamestop, Was too busy slowly sorting through a laundry basket full of old games to acknowledge other customers. I know there isn’t much they can do about parents who bring small children into this tiny store and then proceed to let them run around like free range chickens, but the least the guy could have done was be attentive to customers who are now having to deal with small children literally crawling under our legs. We left after realizing that«This is not my store» Guy was going to ignore us for who knows how long… He didn’t seem phased when we stated this as we left. The usual staff tends to be great and I can’t blame them for parents who treat the place like a chuck e cheese… But whoever was supposed to be doing a job here today around 2, probably shouldn’t be.

Great little location and the staff is always helpful and friendly. I’ll go there to pick up games since it is really close to home as well as being conveniently located next to Starbucks. It has never been crowded when I have gone in there so I’m usually in and out in no time. Went in to pick up Battlefield 3 or the PC and was in and out in less than 5 minutes, the girl at the counter was friendly and courteous. I definitely recommend this place.

I went in here to reserve a game and this place was packed and smelled of nerd sweat. I knew I was at a good spot. There was a family in front of me and the little boy seemed to be autistic or something and the employee was totally patient and joking around with the kid and just indulging in whatever the little guy wanted to talk about. Awesome. The line was long but it moved fast and I got what I came in for. This place is golden. See you in a few weeks to pick up Starcraft 2.

This was a pretty awesome gamestop– I just stopped in because I was checking out a Fresh & Easy in the same shopping center, but the whole scene was right out a Kevin Smith movie with sassy banter between teens. The store was clean and uncluttered– easy to see all the titles. The seletction didn’t quite have the random gloriousness that I found at the San Ysidro Las Americas location, but there was still lots of good stuff.

i have visited this location a couple times over the last few months since moving in across the street and it’s now my number one shop to go to when i want to buy video games. it’s not the price, or the selection of the games that makes me like this store. the employees are rad. they know their video games. and make honest recommendations. that’s what matters the most to me. they would tell you to buy the $ 14.99 game over the $ 40.00 game because it rocks harder. they make jokes without making you feel uncomfortable. –i hate when employees are having a conversation and they make the customer feel like they are interrupting what they’re doing– i’ve never been disappointed with a game from there. they check all the stock and give you the one in best condition when you buy used items. they don’t care if you sit on the ground to look through all the games and debate which one you want. and they don’t nag you constantly with«need any help,» «finding everything ok» and the like. they address you when you first come in(if it’s not super busy), greet you and let you know they’re around if you need help, and mean it. i’ve never felt uncomfortable walking up to one of them for help or their opinion(which i rarely do in any store).
