Looking for a touristy gift shop in the Gaslamp District? Then look no further. This place delivers. Yes, you’ll find some tacky crap, but surprisingly, you’ll find some good products as well. It is in a great location in the middle of the Gaslamp District as well.

I really like this store, it is conveniently located in the Gaslamp district of San Diego. If you are staying in the area, it’s a great place to stop in for souvenirs and items you might have forgotten to pack. The staff is never overly friendly but that’s not a big deal for me here. Prices are fair for the area. The selection of items they sell is pretty wide, phone plugs, summer flip flops, some clothing items, mugs, etc… I feel like their inventory is a cut above your typical tourist trap gift shop. I recommend this store for your quick needs when in the area. I suppose one thing that could put my review at a 5 would be to offer some food items as well.

This place has horrible customer service. The cashier who rang me up Olivia was smacking on her gum obnoxiously. She would answer my questions about the products with smart remarks. She was acting like I was a waste of her time and seemed very annoyed by having to ring me up.

This is gunna be interesting… x_x I got some clothes here since i forgot to pack a few things… For Gaslamp Garage they do personalized souvenirs… so this would be the best place to grab a quick gift for a friend/family…privately owned gift shop on gaslamp… that also sells a decent amount of clothes… seem to have more standardized gift items!

This place has a lot of cool gifts representing SD. I actually came in to buy a t-shirt and got a great deal on 2 Quicksilver shirts. Buy 1 get half off the 2nd. Friendly staff too.

i was at this shop today and received very poor customer service. I was looking for a picture frame for a friend and asked for help. A young lady came out from behind the counter after acting like I was bothering her. She took me to the most expensive frame and did not know much about other product. I asked her if there were any more styles than the 2 we were standing next to and she said«no». Then i looked over at the other shelf across the way and found more and said what about those? She said«oh yeah». like she had never seen them before. She was clueless, no help, another girl came and helped. She was no help either, just wanted to sell me the most expensive item and did not know any details about it. I wanted the dimensions of the picture frame and she did not know and said they are all the same. After insisting she measure them she did acknowledge the two frames were different in size. Very rude lady, she should stay in the back office if she does not know how to help customers. Do not go to this shop if you want good service, prices are also very high. Save your time and money and go to Walmart.

This place is trash… the customer service is awful… The employees that work here have no skills to even work in the customer service industry… The Managers are rude and act like your wasting their time… The prices have 100% mark up… The Owners are greedy…

Impressive gift shop in the heart of Gaslamp! It is much bigger than looks like(already looks big, but when you are inside, you feel like never ending!). I could not believe that I was there for at least an hour with a friend who wanted to buy some San Diego inspired, not super tacky gifts and take them to DC. Very cool shirts(beach guard type very flattering for ladies!), mugs of all kinds, and actually of great taste(you can also find the funny ‘half cup’ mug which is a novelty for me), inspirational books, tons of cheap yet cute jewelry beachy inspired… anything you need to pack a nice bag of souvenirs you get in here. No need to wait until reaching the airport and getting stressed. Mugs of good quality, well sealed paint and nice design for less than $ 10 make great gifts, I don’t think you find them cheaper at the airport even at the duty free section. Shirts are around $ 15. Many beach hats and flip flops as well. I skipped the ‘tacky’ too touristy section, but other than that(hey, they have their own audience too!) I find this store a great place. If you are a convention goes, then do not look further, enjoy the nights without having to spent too much time shopping, at the Gaslamp Garage you get covered.

The Gaslamp Garage is San Diego’s premier stop and shop, and dare you not to buy anything! From great t-shirts, magnets, car decals, hoodies, luggage, aspirin, funny hats, sunscreen, sodas, sandals and towels for the beach, and gas at $.29 cents a gallon… there is definitely some much need nostalgia for the days of old. The crew is also very nice, non-pushy, and just wanting you to come in and have some fun… check it out!

I love this place! You can find the coolest little things here. Of course, the majority of the stuff they have is the tourist stuff, i. e SD sweaters, mugs, post cards, and so on, but they have sooooo much more. Worth a lookie!

As a tourist gift shop this place works out nicely and has an amazing selection. San Diego magnets, key chains, shot glasses, pens, bottle openers, snacks, T-shirts, etc etc. They have an impressive wall-o-magnets in the back with about anything you can imagine. I picked up a car with a surf board on top magnet and a magnet for a friend that says«My friend went to San Diego and all I got was this lousy magnet.» I thought it was perfect because it really is a crap magnet. All the goodies aside I was put off by the store clerks. I asked where I could find a public bathroom and being a tourist and not knowing any better I was directed by the jokester shop keeper down some alley where there were no bathrooms. And I noticed when one girl asked if they had«gum or something like that» the clerk just said«No.» This while I was staring right at gum and mints. So either the guy didn’t know jack crap about his store or he was just being an ass for the sake of being an ass. In any case if you’re a tourist you should stop by and buy up before hitting the airport souvenir stand prices.

Location. Location. Location. I can see why this gift store in the Gaslamp stays open. It’s the perfect place to get any gifts your tourist self might need while visiting San Diego, and you’re not sure where to go. And yet… there’s quite a variety of stuff to be found here. From shirts, to books, to keychains, to designer sunglasses… you name it, Gaslamp Garage probably has it! I can even find myself spending an hour or so just browsing the shelves here! If you’re into tchotchkes and knickknacks, or just window shopping for affordable gifts, Gaslamp Garage is your place.

I don’t see why people are marking it down for being«a place for tourists.» It’s in the San Diego Gaslamp area, for chrissake. That basically spells tourist spot, so what do you expect? So yes, they do have San Diego souvenirs as well as clothing, bathing suits, toothbrushes, sewing kits, beach towels, etc(you know, things tourists often forget when they travel). And for a souvenir shop, this plan is darn tootin’ cute(it’s got a 1950s style going one).

I agree with the other Unilocalers. This is the spot for tourists. But, they do have cute random urban outfitters style stuff. i.e. Pink adhesive mustaches, essential for any pub crawl. They have everything here from team gear to branded surf apparel. Plus, it’s easy to get to on the corner of 5th and K.

It’s a place for tourists. The fact that the first review was written by someone who knew the square footage of the space I’d take that with a grain of salt. I’m from out of town so what I saw was stuff for tourists. Shot glasses, key chains, shirts, hoodies etc. It’s not a spectacular shopping experience but if you need some souvenirs drop in, it’s one of a few great tourist stops in San Diego.

Cool little shop on the strip. It was one of the only shops open on new years day bright and early. Has everything you need as a tourist.
