Food was fantastic, atmosphere was awesome, had a great time. You must be seated in CJ’s section, he didn’t even make fun of us because we’re from Florida. Ask him why Adell crossed the road.

Food was awesome. Service was just decent and a guy came around and took photos and he was rude. We has the tacos three ways. Very yummy and filling.

I always like Baja Rocking Lobster! The tequila lime shrimp are super awesome. I like to use the bread to sop up the sauce so I don’t miss any of it. The chips and salsa bar is great too. As much as you can eat! I like that this location also had an outdoor area so you could people watch too!

I went to the restaurant with my fiancée, and have to mention our server C.J. was awesome. He was funny, informative and when we had an issue with my dish, the chicken enchilada, he took care of it ASAP. The food was amazing. Most defently coming back. Thank you CJ.

Thanks, kelsey, for takin great care of us. Had been at the Auto Show at convention center and decided to walk across street for lunch. Delish strawberry Margarita with sugar rim. I always love their honey Chipotle butter with tortillas, their salsa bar is awesome, and the shrimp bucket for two wc includes two roasted corn on the cob. An awesome start to the new year! Enjoy!!!

This was our first time eating at this restaurant, but I can say it will not be our last. I thought since it was Christmas day, it would be dead — nope, it was actually quite busy. The service was amazing, and the food was even better. My husband had a lobster trio, and I had the chicken enchiladas, both just fabulous. I highly suggest you try this place.

After a long drive from LA my sister and I wanted dranks and seafood. Dear GAWD this place out did it. We had CJ as our waiter — was so fun loving and awesome about getting us drinks. We ordered the surf and turf bucket — so very Yum, flavorful, just amazing. My sister asked if they served Tres Leche cake. Nathan the manager said no but recommended the fried ice cream. 5 minutes later Nathan returned and said we needed to try it. Everything was AMAZING. We are already thinking we will grab a bucket of shrimp for the road. GOHERENOW!

Super cool atmosphere here. Very much has the vibe of a beachside Cantina. The margaritas were fantastic and we had one of the signature Baja buckets for dinner. They said the Baja buckets was dinner for two and for our table of four we still had leftovers. Highly recommend this dining experience to anyone who loves a spin on Mexican flavors and seafood. Definitely will come again.

this is one of the restaurants that allow children aside from the spaghetti factory. the interior décor is like ur in a beach, surfboards, super cool style. they hav a station of unlimited chips and salsa. i really like the mango salsa, tasty and sweet. i got their margarita, jus fine. their virgin strawberry margarita are for those who wants to have less alcohol. i ordered tacos tres amigos, its a grilled shrimp, lobster and carne asada .i liked the lobster taco only. we also had the tequila lime shrimp, this is a must taste like the shrimp i had in portugal cervejera ramiro. their shrimp bucket is large for one person, i think its good for 2. u must try their flour tortilla with their famous honey chili butter, jus so tasty and savory. hope they sell this kind of butter. they also take pictures for a souvenir for free. its up to u if u wanna get the 5×5 black and colored one to the point we bought the 2 because it was a stunning picture.lol. the staff are very friendly and accommodating. m sure, I’m coming back whenever I’m n SD.

Ate here right after our arrival from San Francisco. Great location and service. Had the tacos with three different meats. Pretty good. If we had waited an hour more we could have taken advantage of the happy hour but we were so hungry.

There are so many options in the Gaslamp district and I’m guessing most people get in wherever it looks more appealing as you walk by. So you’ll most likely get in here, the place looks like fun! They have stations of free chips and salsa, you just have to be able to carry them to your table without spilling them! We got guac and chips, ceviche stack and the Epic burrito which was as big as your head! So it’s plenty of food, pace yourself and enjoy your drinks!

This is a great gaslamp spot! A bar area with open seating and multiple tv’s, although typically there is music playing. Buy the margaritas by the pitcher if you are having more than two and they have a great salsa bar with hot chips and lots of different salsas to try. My favorites from the menu are the lobster lover(enchilada has a creamy white sauce and lots of cheese and lobster, and it includes the lobster chowder which is delicious) the Mexican Roasted Corn and the Lobster Bites :) They have a photographer that takes pictures and offer a free postcard memory photo, then sell you the pictures full size I love sitting outside watching all the people! Minus one star-2 separate times they have forgotten to bring out a part of my order yet included it on the bill… they are always very polite and offer the item free after I remind them I did not get it. Also, the tables are often sticky

I came here on a night that was completely dead. My friend and I just wanted to eat some food, grab a few drinks, and head out to other bars. I got the char-grilled chicken taco. Their cilantro sauce is exceptional, I’ll give them that. The chicken, however, was the complete opposite. If you try it on its own it actually tastes like a sheet of paper. So make sure to ask for extra sauce to drench the chicken in. They have a «salsa bar» which, to me, just seems like a convenient way to make the waiters not have to bring you chips and salsa. The actual salsa was OK. Drinks are OK, too. I had a vodka tonic which is hard to screw up but their lemondrop shots were too atrocious to drink. Parking is almost impossible to find. All in all, my suggestion would be to only come here if it’s your last resort.

This is what the stars say– A-OK. Maybe 3.5 even. Came here during Comic-Con. when they were slammed. They had a special limited menu. I got fish tacos. They were basically little chips of fish with LOTS of batter surrounding the fish– in other words, 75% batter, 25% fish. I liked the shredded cabbage and cilantro sauce, though I did ask for the cilantro to be on the side and it wasn’t. Husband had surf and turf tacos. He gave me one of his. The meat was pretty chewy in his. Mine were $ 16, his were $ 18 I believe, for 3 each. Service and seating were pretty fast considering the crowds. The server even kept track of my husband’s Diet Coke refill. They have a chips and salsa bar where you serve yourself all you like.

Rockin baja rocks! Rockin Baja is located in the gaslamp district in downtown san diego. Parking is hard to find so I just park at Horton Plaza for free and walk a couple blocks down. There is outside dining so you can bring a dog along. You get some chips and salsa to start. There is a bazillion salsa options you can select from. They have a bar of sauces so you fill the sauce cups up yourself. Many of the menu items are deep fried so these are not the healthiest options but they taste so good. The buckets have choices for variety. I had an original baja bucket for two which has a little bit of everything including lobster, shrimp, chicken, and carne asada. The bucket came with beans, grilled corn, rice, and tortilla. You wrap up the items in the bucket and make your own taco/burrito. There is a lot of food in that bucket so it can feed 3 easily. I love the taste of everything in the bucket especially the lobster which tastes pretty similar to a puerto nuevo lobster. Customer service is excellent. Prices are on the expensive side but its downtown dining afterall.

We ate here during comic con, service is fast and we were asked immediately if we «KNEWWHATWEWANTED»… Not ideal but we were starving and we ended up here, rushed service and less than stellar food. There are many other options in gas lamp, Don chido would have been perfect but it was full. I rate two stars because the lobster chowder was actually very good, the star of the show(to me) but the rest of our food wasn’t great.

It’s a fun place — seems more of a sports bar than anything. They have a great salsa/chip bar so you are free to pick up anything you want from there and as much chips to fill your heart’s desire. Tacos are ok I suppose — a bit on a the pricey side, but if you go during HH, than it’s ALL good.

I am so struggling with these damn stars! So let me be clear it’s actually 4 ½ stars for this place. I want to give them 5 stars but although food was good it did not blow me away. Service was on point, from beginning to end everyone here was friendly, love that! I also like the self service chips n salsa bar, they actually have two, this is something other places should adopt very good concept. Lots of salsa to choose from. We got a free picture taken which was also pretty cool even though they try to get you to buy more. My lobster lover plate was good they definitely put lobster in it unlike other places. Son had the seafood skillet and that was very good and what I will be ordering next time in area, which means yes I will be returning.
