I found this cart next to Heartwork Coffee Bar in Mission Hills, so it is not always in the same location, so it’s understandable that Ernie couldn’t find the place. I spoke to the vendor and she said that she follows a route throughout the week in Mission Hills and that there are other carts around San Diego, but all the same company. Anyways, this review is for the cart in Mission Hills, as I couldn’t find a post specifically for them. They were in front of Heartwork, which is one of my favorite coffee shops in Mission Hills. This was a clever move for them because customers teamed up with the cart and the coffee shop by purchasing an espresso shot and pouring it over ice cream. It looked amazing, yet I didn’t try it because there were so many other thing on the menu that I wanted to try. The cart is a little on the pricey side relative to how much frozen treat you get, but that was the only reason I took a star. Everything in the cart is vegan, as they use almond milk. The Lemon Raspberry Gelato was delicious, and great for a hot day. I wanted to try the popsicles, but that will be for another day. Look out for them on Instagram!

I was a bit skeptical at first because there was a Hammond down the street from them at the North Park Arts Festival but I’m glad because that sammie beats Hammond any day. It was creamy with just a bit of salt lingering on the taste bud to prepare your mouth for the sugary cookie crunch. Perfect for the warming weather. If you are worried that it would be bland because of the vegan title, worry not. It rivals the creaminess of whole milk treats of your favorite ice cream.
